In fact Sony never meant to put Qrio into production, the project was only ever meant to be a concept robot to test the technology for other products and as an advertising tool for Sony, after Sony killed the Aibo robot pet line they used Qrio for a few years after, there where 7 robots built with spares for repair and maintenance and would have cost millions to create ,
Sony did say that if they did go into production each one would cost to buy,the same as a family saloon car
They discontiued it because they said that they were scared if they mad more adjustments to it, it would turn into a terminator, idk what they actually said but you know what I mean.
Yeah, I think for Qrio to dance like crazy, is for it's midgetness. If Qrio would have been as big as Asimo, then it would be harder for Qrio to move. It's small size makes it easier, I think. Like me, lol.
They will ^_^ They disconutinued making him because they're gonna make the robot do more things so then when its ready to sell it'll be able to do more things to help our world and for itself I read on wikipedia so don't worry ^-^
You must have misunderstood. It says on Wikipedia,
"Before it was cancelled, QRIO was reported to be going through numerous development, testing and scalability phases, with the intent of becoming commercially available within three or four years."
This doesn't mean that it's going to be picked up again. The project was canceled for good because Sony are doing badly financially. In their press release they state that there will be no further R&D with robotics. They have shut the division down.
No thats bullshit, this robot is a Home Entertainment Robot, its not like a ASIMO or anything, its just a better version of wowee RS media. Do you even have a link to proof its 32,000 pounds
Proof?, go to AIBO development page, you'll find that there were 17 years of research in sensors, face recognition, voice recognition, etc. Not just the moves, it is/was really interactive. ASIMOV is great in moving, but, what abouth the rest?
I THINK ITS 200,000 YEN WHICH WORKS OUT TO BE UNDER 1,000UK POUNDS. and 2,000 US DOLLARS, WELL IF ITS NOT IN YEN. IT SHOULD BE. I WANT ONE. :| but its discontinued. until it gets re-released im going to keep on buying my prada and lv bags lol
Does it really cost over 200,000 and there is only 50? I thought that it would cost no more than 2,000. For 200,000 you can buy a house. Wait, is that the price in yen? or in dollars or pounds?
theyre not even being sold anymore--give it ten years though--technology will be way better than this--unless youre like 80-90 or something in which case--soz...lol...
The name of the robot is QRIO it stands for quest for curiosity. The robot is soon to be avialiable their are only four in the world that works. That's what I heard. They can do alot of amazing things. These robots are in Japan.
I love how Qrio and Aibo looked at that lady's dog like, what... the...fuck... was that thing? O.0

If you call over 200,000 for that robot cheap than you must be crazy. Unless that's the price in yen.
