Well, it is logical that the human mind is in its prime at the age of 25-30. Nature did not intend for us to live more than 35-40 years, we do it now due to unnaturally good living conditions. We aren't supposed to have all this time on our hands to waste and not know what to do with. Everyone keeps telling me that life is too short, but it's not; it's too long. Had we only 30 years of life, we would be much more concerned with what to do with them than we are now with 80-90.
My Views About The Huxlean Theory of A Brave New World Order: Community [A misconception that a society should only fundamentally work by 'false happiness' or Placebo even if it means giving up freedoms and 'real' progress], Identity [Deliberately Blind belief and portrayal of objects and intangible to act as a measurement and security of identity] , Stability [Belief and portrayal everything is fine]. Welcome To A Brave New World Order of 1984
I understand what you mean guys... Even George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and George Carlin knew that the things that will and does torment people are or will be hard to avoid. I know, it will be a hard struggle for me to release myself from the Huxlean chains that make me subservient to the 'masters of society'... but awareness is something they can still not stop... but they're getting there, we're running out of time.
I loved reading history and non-fiction as well. George Carlin rocks!! He was brilliant and funny. One of my heroes and I miss him so much!! I'm glad I read all four of his books.
I am a gamer...but the only reason why is b/c I like to dream of a place that is imaginary b/c this world and the way it is run is a joke. It is a mess. People still believe that voting maters. The more I try to inform people on facts and non fiction the more they don't want to know. I get my ''fix'' from escaping reality. Watch on you tube " The power of visualisations " this will train your mind in the quantum physics theories and practices. Our friend in this video is simply a guide. we are the creators of ideas and thoughts. Greed and need are the cancers. You're a fucking idiot to come to a Carlin video to spew democrat (and republican) bullshit. Like he and other people that can think for themselves know is that they are two sides of the same coin. And their are many so-call repubs out of work too you asshole. And speaking of "queers", can you count the number of republican polititions that has resigned after they were exposed as being "queer".
Carlin didn't offer any solutions for anything, he just yammered like an old woman bitching about things, sort of like Bill Maher. Pretty intellectually lazy when you get down to it.
@SouthernGuy73 he gave insight of his thoughts. you can't provide solutions for everyone. what someone deem as a solution may not be for someone else. everyone should find their own solution based on what they think is best. cheers

I completely agree. I find fiction uninteresting. I've just read "Twelve Steps To Political Revelation" by Walter Mosley. If you're watching this video and like George Carlin's politics, you should pick up a copy.
@andmaketherain it is very simple!! the people about 50 years ago werent geniuses !! the reason is they had the chance to discover something that was easy to discover and be named as time passes it gets more and more difficult to discover new things as all of them had been discovered before you were even born!! i believe given the same chance some people could make the same discoveries if they lived a 100 years before today!! so geniuses are around but there is not much new to discover easily
@jimakosgian26 dude, there's so much left to be invented in the universe... you just don't have the imagination to see it all. the very same reason you could not have invented the lightbulb or the telephone, it's very easy to see how to do it once you've already been shown.
@holesinmyknees maybe there is much left but it is not as easy as it was for them to invent it!! for example all newton had to do to discover gravity was to sit under a tree!!! how fucking awesome is that??? now days if you want to discover something new you need to travel to extreme palces incuding space!! so IT IS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO DISCOVER SOMETHING NOW DAYS AND ALSO THERE ARE NOT SO MANY THING TO DISCOVER AS THERE USED TO BE!!
@jimakosgian26 haha he had to do a little more than sit under a tree, he had to see the world in a way it had never been seen before, there's nothing easy about that. It took all the same ingenuity, hard work and curiosity about the world as it takes to make advances in quantum mechanics today. We're never going to know everything about our world, but more is learned every day, and what's more we now have a huge base of knowledge, methods and tools to help in the search.
"There is nothing he sais that I couldn't have said myself"
Well maybe you're a genius then? ;-)
But seriously, how does that make him a pseudo intellectual? Maybe he wasn't a "genius", but he certainly was no pseudo intellectual. Those kinds of people have big egos and are mostly ( if not always ) full of shit.
@Archaeosix He is a comedian who has at early age started watching some documentaries and reading some books....the new generation of youngsters have been exposed to so much more information...and are very much like him. Although maybe not as confident or as "funny".
@Hermoor We are the biggest set of failures in the history of people. For that precise reason you mention (the extreme availability of information) young people would rather "pwn" noobs on Xbox live. Listen to some rapper, and browse 4chan every 5 minutes whilst having epic internet battles such as this. Instead of making real progress in humanity, our generation hasn't achieved piss. Every privilege we have today was because people b4 us either died or figured it out for us, we are bums lmao.
@TechReid speka for your self!! given the same chance people had a long time before me i would have done the same thing!! and i would have invented something!!!
I agree with you but, being interested in science etc. and playing games can go together, or don't you agree?
The people I mostly complain to are the ones loving to watch cooking shows or dancing with the stars kind of shit. Complete useless bullshit which they can talk about after they watched it. It pisses me off how superficial everyone has become. They don't question anything. I agree a lot of gamers are completely away from the world, but who can blame em, isn't it society?
I mean what's there to live for in the outside world. People are unfriendly, everything is boring, but when you play games. Let's say when I play games I always find people who want to have interesting conversations and are friendly etc. Unlike in real life where most of my friends couldn't care less about science, morality etc. They just think it's weird I would talk about that. I only have a handful of friend who are interested in that kind of stuff. I don't think games are bad.
@TechReid How do you know we are the most failed generation? Where does the failure begin? Do you really think the MAJORITY of the people in the 17–20th century accomplished anything special? I don't think so. I think they were casually "pwning" noobs in other ways.
You are no better than the ones looking back in history in disgust saying "man those people were so fucking dumb hurr de fucking derp".
@Hejzwej Young people are unskilled, out of touch, and inadequate in almost every trade nowadays compared to previous generations, this is a observable fact. That is what he was talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know how to do your laundry since this gen is so blindly disenfranchised and full of shit, young people don't want to see the failure in themselves. I recommend watching Zeitgeist movie series, it's a real eye opener.
@waterableman young people have had their failures handed to them by their previous generation. how can you blame the current generation for our ancestors' crimes?
@jackp22 yea now you can truly see that he is in fact one of the brightes people of the century and he never went to university or finished high school

@w1lp34 "You think you can stop revolution by killing the revolutionaries? Thats being naive, you cant kill the ideas" totally agree man, george carlin wasn't about the man, it was about the ideas.. I guess I would have thought the same way..
It's interesting to watch people like George Carlin and Glenn Beck (oh geez, here come the insults) because it's clear that when they started their research they had one opinion (George was a staunch hard-left liberal, Glenn a hard-right conservative) but after further exploration they both came closer together in their opinions. I'm a left-leaning libertarian who was a moderate conservative in my teens, but you evolve and you grow up and get more information.
As usual, Carlin hit the nail on the board, I strictly read nonfiction too because I like to expand my mind and discover new things, not that Harry Potter fantasy bullshit
@ilovetogofast88 But sometimes we need that "Harry Potter bullshit." Just as you can see throughout nature, all extremes have an opposite and require this opposite to maintain balance. Sometimes we need fantasy to take us away from the worries of reality every now and then, and likewise we need reality to keep us informed and grounded. Too much of one thing is never good or healthy. I prefer nonfiction always, but little Harry Potter can't do much harm :)
@trakomako Selling your bible isn't a symbol of your religion, it's a gesture you make to gain profit and to spread corruption. So saying to someone that not buying your bible and not believing your words will result in that person's "burning in hell" is not very Christian of you, now is it?
stop arguing you morons, you don't gain ANYTHING from winning an argument over the internet...Nothing!....Just enjoy the words of wisdom from probably the greatest mind of the 21'st century...

I for one thank the Paley Center for posting this!
@trakomako Its either a very idiotic sarcasm or its a complete satire of a fundamentalist Christian that is poorly done... either way I don't really give a crab's shit....
@trakomako And you are a hypocrite! " buy my bible" from another video. If you are a good christian its free, but then again your mind is the size of a sperm.....so do me a favor...SHUT THAT GARBAGE SHIT YOU ARE SPEWING. YOU FUCKING ASS-BAG!
How come everybody I admire is dead? George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Kurt Vonnegut, Carl Sagan, Hunter S. Thompson, Bertrand Russell, Robert Anton Wilson...
This is a side of GC that people ought to see. This guy is a fucking genius. Much more than a comedian he was a thinker. That his conclusions "happen to be" comedy is not his doing but our own SHIT.
If you people are sorry he is dead you are crazy. George Carlin did not die he will never die. It is a mathematical impossibility. The guy was more than a man, he was a messenger of wisdom, love, truth and hope. If there is a God, he would now have the honor to shake his hand.
...but if you are at all familiar with Mr. Carlin, you already know that there is no God. Pray to Joe Pesci instead; you'll have roughly the same success rate.
The guy in the chair interviewing carlin was bored as hell. You should look interested douche not opinionated.

what you're saying is so funny because you're doing the same EXACT thing, just arguing over the internet

@trakomako Its either a very idiotic sarcasm or its a complete satire of a fundamentalist Christian that is poorly done... either way I don't really give a crab's shit....

um
the first time i read this, i thought you were joking.
then i read your other comments.
and now i realize
that you just have no idea who george carlin is
because he was probably the biggest atheist the world has ever seen.

How come everybody I admire is dead? George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Kurt Vonnegut, Carl Sagan, Hunter S. Thompson, Bertrand Russell, Robert Anton Wilson...

@Bremerxxxx People have been saying that for a long time... It's because we don't truly respect people who are alive.

This is a side of GC that people ought to see. This guy is a fucking genius. Much more than a comedian he was a thinker. That his conclusions "happen to be" comedy is not his doing but our own SHIT.
Despierto 1 year ago
If you people are sorry he is dead you are crazy. George Carlin did not die he will never die. It is a mathematical impossibility. The guy was more than a man, he was a messenger of wisdom, love, truth and hope. If there is a God, he would now have the honor to shake his hand.

@milanmihai
...but if you are at all familiar with Mr. Carlin, you already know that there is no God. Pray to Joe Pesci instead; you'll have roughly the same success rate.
