It was my understanding that you went down in special cooling suits in order to withstand the heat which was about 118 degrees. A person could be down there for a few minutes and take the suit off, but I am sure they would not be very comfortable. Longer than a few minutes would have unpleasant side effects, mainly death. Check out the National Geographic Channel of the real - unfake- scientific evidence on these caves. The crystals are hot, not cold, but they do look like ice.
They definatly are real crystals, unfortunatly the pitures of the people here are fake, the cavern is so hot that you need to wear special heat protective suits. the cave holds 100% humidity and even in suits you cant spend much more than 10 minutes in there as it can cause death from heat exposure!!
@lexusowner yeah no...there not fake....they are real massive crystal formations found recently in the naica mines in Mexico....you should probably look things up before branding them as fake...

Contradicitve music from heck right here, this is like this is a bad discovery kind of music; take this video down & put something inspirational not emo depressive shiz.
Look, I'm a speleologist myself, and I know it's impossible to enter a cave "for a couple of minutes". Besides, the people in this video aren't wearing any special clothing at all.
It would be impossible to enter this cave if it had a temperature of 100'C for the human body cannot take such extreme temperatures. Not even for a couple of minutes.
Look, to clear things up, the temperature in this cave is 150 F, or 66'C. It's not 100'C at all.
The cave wasn't filled with water at all. Only the lower, inaccessible parts of the cave were flooded. So, they barely noticed anything when excavating the cavern.
Besides, the point was not whether the cave was flooded and had a higher temperature before the excavations, the point being was that a guy commented saying that he would love to go there, and that you replied that he'd die because of the high temperatures, which is nonsense and very inaccurate.
The temperature reaches as high as 136ª F with 90-100% humidity, according to the Wikipedia.
Researchers do have to wear special cooling suits and can only stay for a short time. You can endure this for maybe 10 minutes or so unsuited, and that must be what the people in the photos did.
see with your eyes. what do you mean what good are they? they're huge fucking crystals. They serve no purpose besides simply existing. The more people flock to places like this, the more they are destroyed.
Only one problem: no one can stay for very long inside these gypsum caverns; the high temperatures could dehydrate and kill you within the space of an hour!
While the crystals are incredible to look at, a miracleof nature's handiwork, the cavern itself is very deadly!
it's not the temperature that will kill you its the fact that its 100% humid in the caverns and you cannot sweat which will cause organs to fail.. national geography says :) and they are only meant to be in there for 5minutes max but they stayed for 10minutes
awesome i love gemstones and minerals and rocks

Then how do you explain that those people managed to get in?
pikulicluka 2 years ago
over 100'C in places, and the ppl there can only be in
for a few minutes at a time, with special clothing, yet some have still died going in there

When i mean a couple of minutes,i don't mean literally.
You hear ppl say they will be back in a sec.
And it was around 100'C before they excavated the cave.People have died there, and some people wear special respirator masks there.
infoseeker228 2 years ago
@infoseeker228
They wear special respiratory masks there if they have breathing problems as the humidity level is very high there.
There is no information on the temperature before the excavations.
pikulicluka 2 years ago
yes the humidity there is very high, but since the cave
was filled with water before they excavated it,and there
was no funnel for the heat to escape, the emperature
was at least a couple of degrees higher

i didn't reply to anyone, never mind to a person who would like to go there.
Still, parts of the cave were flooded.Ther temperature was higher before they opened the cave anyways.
