In 1 Cor 6:9-10 Paul lists out some sins that we should not be partakers of because those types of people will not go to heaven. Our salvation is not a one-time prayer. The Catholic Church disapproves of the act of sex between two men because it doesn't lead to a life - just as contraception and fornication is disapproved of- it does not condemn their LOVE. If you believe it's okay to have sex for anything other than procreation, then you have no reason to be against homosexuality.
