A domestic partnership is different to marriage & does not hold the same benefits. A marriage joins you in a union where you make a commitment before God or before the law. You become a unity, there are inheritance rights and the status that you are fully commited to each other as one. Marriage has not always been between 1 man & 1 woman. Prop 8 is a "law" to ban gay marriage, not allow hate. Hate crime/discrimination is illegal in the U.S., ya know. lol. And about the hospital rights, Cal. Family Code section 297.5 clearly states that a domestic partnership shares the same benefits and obligations as a married couple. Including hospital rights :)

What is that supposed to mean? How ignorant. I am a Christian because I take Christ to be my saviour & I love the lord & my neigbour. I try to live my life with Christian morals. No where in the Bible condems loving gay relationships. The word homosexual did not enter the Bible until 1958, when someone decided that's what the Greek 'Malakoi' means. It was mis translated. It is not a sin to be gay. Homo & hetero sex are both ethically neutral, it is how they are used that determines goodness.

Marriage has always implied there be a husband and a wife.
Prop 8 in Cali, and Prop 102 in Az, & others across the nation are ONE SENTENCE long and void of "discrimination". Marriage has always been defined as a heterosexual institution and that's all the language of the amendments aim to enforce!
No "gay rights" are added or taken away by clarifying the definition of marriage(which has existed in its current form for millenia).

Why should I, as a gay, Christian woman, b denied that right because my partner is of th same sex (because naturallly when ur gay u r attracted to th same sex). This only works if you have equal right under the law. You don't do you? Health insurance benefits or federal benefits like social security? Civil unions don't have the same rights. If civil unions did, then yes, let them have their marriage! Please take it!!!

We are all the same. Love is love, when you love someone and want to make a sacred, loving commitment to them, why should you not be allowed to do that. Imagine if a group of people were fighting to make your marriage obselete. I am a gay, Christian woman & love my partner very much - why shd I be denied the right to marry her if I lived here. My marriage wd have no negative effect on u, it wdn't effect u at all. Don't vote to end people's marriages &stop future ones -do the right thing vote no!

It doesnt effect me...Thats why Im not voting at all...because I understand both sides...some people really are offended when two people of the same sex get married..And some gays for some reason want the Title of marriage to solidify their relationship....I think they should reach a common ground..instead of one side losing, but thats just me...oh and if you strangled a kitten it would have no negative effect on me but it doesnt mean its right.

Im a human being as well as being 'a gay' as u say. I am a woman, a Christian, I am many things, I also happen 'to be gay' because I am not attracted to men but to women. I want to marry my partner in the same way that a straight person wants to marry their partner when they want to make a sacred loving commitment that has legal rights & benefits to go with it. If prop 8 doesn't pass, 'the straights' loose nothing. If it does pass, marriages will end. There is nothing wrong with consentual love

A domestic partnership is different to marriage & does not hold the same benefits. A marriage joins you in a union where you make a commitment before God or before the law. You become a unity, there are inheritance rights and the status that you are fully commited to each other as one. Marriage has not always been between 1 man & 1 woman. It is only in the last two centuries that people have become in tollerant. Marriage is about love. The only mockery of marriage is divorce.

Marriage was created to join two people who loved one another. In fact it was also created to join people who didn't love one another. There are arranged marriages, polygomous marriages, marriages of convenience. Marriages that aren't honoured by cheating husbands etc etc. Marriage is not exclusive to man & woman, it is the majority of marriages though because the majority are straight but that does not mean that gay people shouldn't marry. Marriage is about love not man & woman.

I'm not nit picking at the verses, the Bible is not as simple as you think.. It must be read in context as I said before. It is argued that the Bible does say David and Jonathon were married, a covenant in the Bible counts as marriage.

I was just wondering which stories you think I haven't gotten straight? I do respect the Bible. I also respect the way God made me & the fact that stories need to be understood and then interpreted in context & culture. The Bible isn't simple. Also, it is very easy to take a direct comand out of context as the context is the story that surrounds the direct command. One line out of a story for example can be mis used. Prop 8 does not take away anyones right to have religion, and it does not take away your right to disagree.
It allows two people to marry who love each other.
You will still be able to go to chruch and pick and choose passages from the bible, and listen to your priest talk. You will still get to think and voice your opinion about gays in your awn way.

The reason that would effect any religious belief is that force churches to except a belief that is exceptable for same sex marriage. The only reason that there is Homosexual marriage is because judges discounted my vote on prop 22. A yes vote would put one man one woman in the constitution so a judge could not do that again. I am sorry that those judges have put you thru this.

I am a gay Christian woman, my love is not sin and me being married does not effect your religious freedom. By voting yes you will be ending people's marriages. Breaking families and preventing future families. Gay people can't have children, the least we can do is marry and make a family with one another. if the homosexual person...confesses his sin before God and repents he/she can be saved. he or she is no better, no worse, no different than any other law-breaker..Does this mean if he/she ever sins again he/she is doomed to Hell, (Whatever Hell Is) ? I hope not -- or we are all doomed. All of us sin but we should not be proud and arrogant. We should all refrain from sin. If and when we sin, confess it as sin and repent. No it's not a sin to lie with aother woman. Why do ou think it doesn't say that? It says man shall not lie with beast and in turn woman shall not lie with beast. But when it says man lying with man is an abomination i,e against tradition and culture (as that is what the original Hebrew text says, it doesn't say the same about women. Why? Yes, but all of humanity is not gay. Not everyone is made the same. We are all unique. I know that God made me the way I am.
