Scandinavia doesn't include Finland. Scandinavia + Finland = Fennoscandia. Fennoscandia + some other countries somewhere = The Nordic countries.

Don't lump Finland in with the Scandinavian countries especially in a WW2 context. It's kind of insulting because the only Scandinavian country that had any balls was Norway.

Scandinavia is strictly Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Finland is part of the nordic countries which is (not mentioning autonomous regions)

Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Basically all these countries share a a lot of history and politics.

The only thing that makes scandinavia a special region in the north is their shared language.

Actually is more due to the fact that they were all ruled as one during the period of the Kalmarunion wich included Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and a minor part of Finland.

They (we, as I'm from Denmark myself) doesn't share the same language - it is however true that the language spoken in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway are similar in many ways, but it is still hard (sometimes imposible) to understand another scandinavian.

FYI Finland is a country with two official languages, finnish and swedish. So, on account of that fact you're wrong. On the other hand Scandinavia is also a geographic concept, and if you check your map, you'll see Finland is more scandinavia than Denmark.
