  • nice post, man. getting my rm100 this week. dying to get it, so i figured i'd live vicariously through ur playing;). you seem to have similar tastes to mine (musically and tone), and i was wondering if you're happy with the mesa cab or would you swap for another if given the chance. i have a chance to score a stock mesa cab for an excellent price. cheers! \m/

  • @dg082306 I liked the Mesa cab. I bought the oversized recto cab, but the stiletto cab is probably what I should have gotten. Smaller and tighter in tone. From what I've heard anyway. Thanks for the comment.

  • these fevered times

  • Sounds la-la-la-la-la-lovely! Is it versatile? Would it be plausible to pull off a Bark At the Moon or maybe Panama cover? It obviously does the edgy stuff nicely

  • Randall sucks....

  • you play'd the Holy wars riff wrong but nice playing and great sound

  • Your guitar's rear pickup is SH-13 of Seymour Duncan?

    Very very nice sound!

  • great video man helpful and fun to listen to!

  • aproximately how much was the head and cabinet? im lookin to get somethin like that. wasnt sure how much it would cost though.

  • I am seriously digging your setup. Sweet guitars and nice playing and tones.

  • excuse me. did you replace the bridge pickup with an emg? urk i rly dont like emgs

  • rock tone !

  • what cab is that a randall

  • @GoDoFTHUNDER95 It's a Mesa Boogie recto cab. The larger boom-ier one.

  • Nice dude. I love Darkest Hour. I'm also enjoying the amp. I have that Bill Lawrence(I'm assuming it's an x500xl) in the bridge of my DKMG dinky. I'll be looking at new amps soon and I'm pretty sure you helped me add the RM100 to my list.

  • cool axe man!!!!!!!

  • Holy Wars @ 0:36!

Awesome guitar, got one myself just without the mother of pearl bindings.

  • good!

  • Is that an orversized mesa cab or is that normal size?

  • Nice video! The sound is a bit noisy maybe 'cause of the mic of the camera. But it's great! Do You use the Dimebucker pickup? ;-) Not bad. I'm going to buy an LTD EC 1000 too but I'm planning to put a Gibson 500 T in it. I'd have two questions. Can You tune the guitar perfectly in? Do the instrument have an angular neck joint? Thanx! Bye!

  • I had the same guitar. Its like a LP styler neck joint. And you can get it perfectly in tune, not like most guitars this scale. Which don't tune for shit.

  • Thanks man, that's great! This neck joint gives good sustain. And it's great that it has a good intonation. It's a basic thing but I've got two guitars and I can't tune them in perfectly, 'cause they are not perfect enough. One of them is a Fender. So I want a good one. Thanx again, that's good news!

  • y do u need the gobson 500t it already has the seymour duncan jb sh4 in tn it wich is an awsome pickup

  • 'Cause I'm crazy about the freakin' awesome sound of Gibson guitars. I played a Les Paul with this pickup and I liked it a lot. I think too Duncans are fine, but I want the 500T. That's a matter of taste, man.

  • What a huge improvement from just a few years ago! These used to be such a bogus product and sounded trashy and I remember disturbed was one of their big advertisements at the time. This sounds great though!

  • hey dude type in Lee Kyung Won - Hero youll see what the guitar can do

  • now thats a setup my man

although I know you can definatly pump a way heavier gain out of that thing haha

    especially with that cab

  • Yeah, I liked it the way it was though. With a bit of grind to it and not distorted enough to be fizzy. I think the fact I'm using a digital camera may also take away a lot of the balls to the sound.

  • Nice "Between The Buried and Me" at 1:36. I have been thinking about getting one of these, just because of all the tones you can get out of it with all the different modules. Seems like it would be great for recording.

  • Sounds great and great playing.

Is that with EL34 or 6L6 power tubes?

    Or 6CA7's?

  • Wow, the intro reminds me of Pro-pain. Kickass job dude!

  • omg, you have the ride the lightning tone....

  • Can you get the guitar without abalone?

  • You are alone!

  • do you think the ultra module can pull of metalcore/death type tones?

  • Yes. I do think so. But my tone taste may be different than yours. It had a lot of gain and in these videos I had it down about half way. In my head, you don't need a ton of gain to play heavy music. Just enough to get a thick tone. To give you an idea, I would use the tone I had here to play something like that. Maybe just a little darker. But yeah, it can go heavier. But like with all amps, more gain means less definition.

  • What pickups does it have? I see they aren't standard EMGs

  • It's a Bill Lawrence in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan in the neck.

  • the sunburst model doesnt come stock with emg's it has a duncan 59 in the neck and a jb in the bridge.

  • THEY KILLED MY WIFE AND MA BABY! loving the megadeth!

  • cool guitar but you should practice clean sound...

  • What do you mean?

  • it was just an advice

because if you improve your clean sound when you play with distortion you have more facilities...

  • If I improve my clean sound... Do you mean the tone of the amp? Or how clean my playing is? Or what? More facilities? I'm still not understanding.

  • i think what he means with his improper english(no offense), hes not impressed with the clean stuff you were playing. it couldve been a little better but it wasnt bad. no one is perfect.

  • That's what I thought. The reply email came from youtube france it seemed like. I didn't want to be rude by calling out his english. But I suppose I'll work on the clean stuff.

I really need to start playing my guitar again.

  • dude that ESP sounds great. im thinking about getting an empty one of these, and put in the XTC, Blackface and plexi pre amps to go with my les paul standard.

I like how you threw in THESE FEVERED TIMES!!! darkest hour is one of my favorite bands

  • How reliable is this head?

  • well since you already own the thing....does the Ultra XL have enough gain for people like me who tune down to drop A# who want that inflames and fear factory crunch

I play everything from progressive metal to straight thrash

  • I don't own it anymore. But it has a lot of gain. The UltraXL module has a lot of gain. I had it toned down in this vid to like half. If that's any indication.

  • yeah bud it helps a lot, because if u can get that much chunk out of it, then my detuning and active pickups will handle it well....awesome

  • Great tone and playing man. What are the power tubes? EL34? I have been deciding on an Egnater TourMaster or Randall.

  • Mm. I don't actually remember what tubes were in it. I wanna say 6L6s but whatever came in the amp is what's in it there.

  • Excuse me if I'm wrong.

But aren't you Michael from Rest Assured?

If not, you look a heck of a lot alike.

  • Sorry man. My name is Ed. I'm from St. Louis.

  • HOLY WARS YAY

  • Dude u are awesome?

I have an ESP ec 1000 vintage honey burst, do you experience friction against the frets sometimes when u bend the strings in certain way.please reply that be great!

  • how much did that set-up cost like total because I want that Set-up with the Randall RM100 and the mesa cab?

  • hey man, are those the el34s or 6l6s?

  • I think they were 6L6s. I don't really remember though.

  • E34L's in the Power section and 12AX7EH's in the Preamp circuitry.

  • it sounds great but i prefer EMG They have a really warm sound , Y dont you put EMS's in it???

  • Because I liked the Bill Lawrence pickup.

  • Because hes not you, you freaking dousche...

  • because emgs sound sterile and unmusical

  • you're probably sterile.

  • what pickup is N the bridge cuz thats not the 59'

  • The pickup in the bridge is a Bill Lawrence L500xl. It's the hottest lead pickup they make but it's still very crisp and clear. It's not as hot as say an EMG though.

  • The bridge PU sounds great. How does it compare to the stock JB it comes with? Did you change it because you wanted something hotter?

  • I was just experimenting really. The Bill Lawrence is a great deal because it's supposedly handmade and relatively cheap (like 50 bucks). It's very hot and very clear and crisp. It is hotter than the JB and a little less fuzzy. But when played without distortion, it's a bit more shrill and brittle than the JB. Still sounds good though, just too harsh for most amps without turning down the tone or something.

  • I've been looking at scoring one of these bad boys. Right now it's between this amp and a Marshall JVM.

  • what should i get a ec-1000 with emg pickups or symore duncan pickups (plz send to my profile) thank you

  • Is this stock? Any mods on the head or modules? Tubes? My RM is so dark, and yours just has the sparkle I can't seem to get.

  • It's all stock. Do you have the same modules? I really thought the SL+ module was the coolest. It had EL-34s in it if I recall correctly.

Before you get too discouraged, you might try an eq. I used an MXR 10 band occasionally and it allows some further tweaking.

Also, what kind of cab do you have?

  • Damn thats some killer distortion on that amp. Are you in a band?

  • man you need to get in a weight room. haha just messin.

    nice playin though.

i love the look the the ec's

  • sound sweet :D

  • this dude is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good vid dude

what song do you start playing at 2:08?

  • hes playing these fevered times by darkest hour

  • I heard Welcome Home(Sanitarium), Little Wing, These Fevered Times, and a bunch of others. Great playing, bro! Especially the sweeps! Pretty sick tone, too.

  • killer

what bridge pickup do you have on this?

it seems as if you replaced it.

  • its a bill lawrence l-500lx bill and becky model i think sounds way to good to be a dodgie usa model

  • That's right. The real deal from bill and becky. I've not heard the other ones, so I can't comment on their sound.

  • nice job on trying to play miricle man :>]

  • I've still never heard the song.

  • Holy Wars! :D Loving the sound of it man, great tone!

  • I geuss but since hearing the Engl powerball, I cant go back, two of my mates have them one of them is in a band FuryUK their pretty sweet, and his sounds awesome with a 4x12 and 2x12 i was just curious about the randall!

  • Does it come included with the pramps or do you have to by them seperately?

  • if you buy it new it can come either way. There's no discount buying it with the preamps included though. And there are only certain configurations so it might be best to buy the head and the preamps separate.

  • I found out, and glumly it works out more expensive than the Engl powerball, so i made my mind up and chosset he Engl =]

  • Honestly, I'd rather have a simple tube amp with 3 channels. I'm rebuilding my gear collection soon and I've got the guitar, I'm getting a regular 3 channel tube amp. Then down the line I'll buy a nice Fender combo that does all the jangly clean channel things I like.

  • Holy wars!!!

  • sounds better than the recto

  • I like how bright it is. It could have something to do with the eq though... The 10 band.

  • ahh i love darkest hour, please do some more covers! thanks for upload :)

  • What's the song at 2:10?

    And I love the Megadeath.

  • It's These Fevered Times by Darkest Hour

  • Thanks dude, you freakin rock. I wish I could play even half as good as you.

  • Thanks man. Just keep working on it. Darkest Hour is a good place to start if you want to learn to do some crazy metal riffing.

  • Mustaine rule!

  • 8D great playing and fucking great gear O_o

  • Thanks man.

  • the bill lawrence XL500 has very good harmonics, but for me it sounds quite tinny....but maybe it's only because of the youtube compression. Anyway, great playing

  • I think it's the youtube sound. The amp sounded much thicker and deeper in real life.

  • A guy named Matt Scheer? That's who I sold mine to. So you own my old guitar. Awesome.

  • Poor neighbors............

  • Don't worry about them. No one was home.

  • That's what's in the bridge of this one. An L500xl.

  • DARKEST HOUR!!!!!!!!

  • love the clean tone

  • awesome tone does the esp ec1000 delux have a set neck?

  • Yeah, it's set neck.

  • You can't go wrong with an ESP. One of our guitarists in our band has the red EC-1000 w/ EMGs. Amazing guitar. I would definitely recommend it.

  • The bridge pickup to me looks like an EMG. Can't tell what model. For metal I personally like an EMG 85 in the bridge, 81 in the neck.

  • normally its 81 bridge and 85 in neck :E seemed like a dimarzio X2N in bridge, or possibly dimebucker. Pretty sure it's X2N.

  • It's Bill Lawrence L500xl. The real ones. That would be a fun guessing game, but in some of my other videos I talked about it.

  • holy wars hell yeah

  • what's your bridge pickup on the ec-1000? its not stock is it?

  • It looks like it might be a dimebucker/

  • i think its a Seymour Duncan

  • *facepalm*

    Dimebuckers are made by SD.

  • the neck is a dean handwound.

  • In mine its a '59. So unless he changed it as well.

  • You're right. It's the stock 59. The bridge is a Bill Lawrence L500xl.

  • i love the Sanitarium part at the end

  • Thanks. I know it's not perfect, but I was just screwing around. I really liked that clean tone and it inspired stuff like that.

  • do u recommend this guitar...and play give me an unbiased opinion...i just bought the new epi les paul SLASH..but i didnt like it so i have about 900 bucks to spend

  • I liked this guitar a lot. It's thinner than any Les Paul though. And it has body contours. My guitar teacher once said it was like playing a strat neck on a les paul body. It's very smooth and plays really fast. Or seems to. With the gloss finish on the neck. I don't own it anymore obviously. It's not quite as bulky as a Les Paul. I happen to like real Les Pauls though so I'm not saying it's better.

  • What song are you playing when you tune to drop d? 2:07? I recognize the song and its killing me that I can't think of the name of it.

  • These Fevered Times by Darkest Hour.

  • which preamp was better for metal, the XL or the SL, and this has an effects loop correct?

  • Do you need to have all 3 modules in there before the curcuit is complete or can you just have 1 module in at a time?

  • I think you can do one.

  • you mind trying it out for me?

  • I don't own the rig anymore.

  • ohh sad

  • Holy Wars!!!

  • oh yesss holy wars

  • Nice man. Really nice. Dont listen to these guys, that was really good. Nice tone too.

  • cheap randall stack is a rx120d, mine was 800 with shipping and handeling, badass fuckin amps 2.

  • can anyone recommend me a cheap randall half stack?

  • the G3 series look into it

  • holy wars!!!!

  • I'm sorry. I mean.. When I rehearsed this bit for hours and hours before hand, you think I'd have spotted that problem. I mean... Really. Does it seem like I was going for a solid version of Sanitarium?

  • very fuckn nice

  • I liked the Megadeth part.

Keep on rocking man, shame you sold your equipment. You couldve combined both

  • Dude you really need to hit the gym my man. Your built like a broom.

  • That's actually why I sold my gear. So I could focus on my physique.

  • Why would you do that. Your physique will go away when you get older, but you can always have guitar. If you haven't got rid of it give me the EC. lol.

  • the part at 2.10 is awesome...can you tell me what is it?

  • The band is Darkest Hour, the song is These Fevered Times, the album is Undoing Ruin.

  • Just so you know (if you didn't), there is a brand called Egnater that does the same type of modules and it works with the Randall stuff and viceversa. You can get some info on them at the Randall forum.

  • Thanks. I've heard of them. I hear they're supposed to be a cut above the Randall stuff too. I used to post at the Randall RM forums and heard a bit about them and people upgrading to them.

  • Dude, make your bed......

  • This is a preposterous statement. I'm a college kid living alone ;)

  • Ok...ill give you that. Great playing by the way. Im looking at getting either the see-through blue or vintage black.

  • You blew my mind. I didn't even know they had those new colors. Amazing. ESP is kinda bad ass in that sense. Slowly offering more and more awesome stuff.

  • i got that guitar in snow white.. and i replaced the emg 60... so it's now a emg 81 and 85.. it's such a sweet guitar

  • cool color and pickup combo. Got any vids? I'd like to see it in action.

  • nah no vids right now.. i just moved to san clemente, ca and my amp stuff is still in sacramento.. and i've been without an amp for 2-3 weeks.. :(

  • nice megadeth parody there

  • Hey what is the song you play at 2:09 ? and great playing again.

  • It's called These Fevered Times by Darkest Hour from their cd Undoing Ruin.

  • I'm getting this guitar someday. It's definitely one of the best looking guitars I've ever seen, plus the tone is kickass.

  • the tone is comming from the seymour duncon 59s i am putting those in my EC

  • I'm pretty sure the guitar was switched to the bridge pickup for the whole video. Which is a Bill Lawrence L500xl. Which is a badass pickup. You should put that in your EC.

  • Dude, pretty wicked skills. Are you running the standard JB & 59's in that? I'm thinking of switching out my EC-1000's EMGs for those.

  • No, I've got a 59 in the neck position, but a Bill Lawrence L500xl in the bridge. It's a very clear pickup even though it has lots of gain for plenty of meaty distortion. I'd suggest it over the JB. But that may just be me.

  • Hi, i like your stuff and I like the guitar!!!

I was wondering what song you start play at 2:10? Its the song when you just swithed the tuning... Can you help me please! Cause i liked that riff alot!

  • I don't have sound on this computer, but if I switched to Drop-d tuning, I'm pretty sure it's Darkest Hour's These Fevered Times. Look'em up. THey're a cool band.

  • I heard Holy Wars very very nice what module where you using for that one? Also lets hear some more i want to hear Take No Prisoners

  • thx 4 tha reply. Im thinking of getting one. Im not worried about it sounding excatly like another amp. I just curious if it breaths and cutts like a good amp. And its hard its hard to tell at low volumes compared. Thx thou

  • Has any rm100's been a/b'd to a handwired amp for a comparison? Like a Rivera, Laney, soldano ect.
