I had a very good taiwanese friend there... she and I used to go out quite often there. I miss the place sometimes..I studied there from 2005 to 2008 and then stayed till 2010 and now I have left the country.
if u really want to do something serious in engineering, please go somewhere else, as in Sunderland, they dont even cover essential stuff in engineering, in stead a pile of non-sense modules were stuffed to make up course.
But the bright side is its easy to get a degree there, the lecturers are friendly and really easy when they mark your assignments, as long as you made some effort.
When u graduate, from what u get out of the course, u are far behind those graduates from other unis.
I lived In Sunderland for a good 5 yrs, and I'll tell u that, there have to be way better cities in th UK, I mean, the place is not that bad, it's the people who really are so negative and suspicious of foreigners, very narrow minded they are, locals. If u have the time to look around for better unis do it, but if u r a first timer in England, take lots of trips aorund the country whenever u can....
I'm studying here and I'm BEGGING you DON'T make the mistake to come here this place is horrible UGLY and DEPRESSING! If you want to live your studies DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT I DID!

It may because you cant handle the courst what you are study currently...... that why you are thinking bad on it .......actually where are you studying is be the same ......and the different is environment!!!!!So, be heardworking on your study!!!!!cheers up!!!!

@samuel85lg dude it's very cold up there and there aren't many things to do. There is also something strange in the atmosphere that can make you depressed. DEFINATELY NOT the best place to study! It's only worth it if you have the money to travel all the around UK anywhere else except there! I was told it's fine and quiet but it's depressing and horrible. This year I traveled all the time so as to feel good away from that shithole!
