  • thanks for putting these video's up. I'm intrigue by this dancing and I think I might try to learn. If i can't find some rhythm in my step that is lol.

  • terrific,,,with some of Hurt banjo.

  • @arcitejack thanks, if you are learning dancing, I've a half dozen or so other uploads to help build up on the basic steps. happy picking

  • I think you're doing a great job. Basics are always important. I don't have a specific direction here. I plat rythm guitar in an Old Time string band andI want to be the banjo man in time. There are a lot of missed opportunities to dance if I knew how. the solution to that is to learn. I'll be happy to give you feedback as you work along. Thanks again. Will

  • That depends on where you start from! LOL!

  • @willsoflo what is confusing, i'm trying to help the absolute beginner in these first few vids. I can make a supplement tutorial vid for you if you are specific about your needs

  • Hey, Tobias, my old friend! I agree. I've been looking for videos like this too! Someday I hope to make it to Clifftop. Long way from San Diego, but I think I've found someone to make the trip with me. Adam's music is great to dance to also! Thanks for this, moonshine, and for the tips on the shoes.

  • I am in regression mode. I've taken up clawhammer banjo and now I think I might enjoy this clogging thing. Pretty odd for a fella that doesn't dance but old timey things seem to be getting to my soul these days. I hope to follow along as you develope your teaching videos. Thannk you for your effort.

  • @willsoflo ?regression mode? I'd call that progressive

  • Oh Excellent! I am going to give it a go. I've meant to take some of the workshops at Clifftop, but just never seem to get a chance. I've seen you dancing there too. Next year I'll introduce myself. Do I need special shoes for this, or will any smooth-bottomed shoe work ok?

  • @WhyteLaydieToneRing Yea, a Canadian student! Shoes with an all leather sole/heel or synthetic sole that does not grip. Or throw down some corn meal to enable a slide. or use tap shoes. I had my Frye oxfords resoled with thicker than original sole, the sound is now better. I'll show them on a vid close up. Keep dancing, makes the winter healthier.

  • Thank you for this great vdeo. I too have been looking for an elementary beginning point and you have provided a wonderful start. Have sorta known the clogging but this one that I have wanted to understand better.

  • @dopicker thanks for the feedback. Its great exercise too.

  • Great! Thanks for this video. I have been looking for videoes like this. I look foreward to seeing more.

  • @TobiasEnevoldsen Thanks for watching, tobias. I hope to put out a series of intro flatfoot videos in the next month. You could help me with feedback so I could revise or add where you think necessary. Especially once you've taken Ira's workshop in Gainsborough

  • I likes me sum MoonShineV! Thanks Moonie for all you do!

  • :-)
