This is truly one of the best albums i've ever owned i'm so glad i was a teenager when this came out. this is music that has heart the shit now a daprops to ya ys is all about the money and "catchy" est beat. this is what music is about feelings and jammin out and feeling the music. I saw them live at a free outdoor show. About ten thousand people showed up. They sounded just as trippy as the record.  Befor that I heard their 'Stars' song on the radio and took a chance and bought the Yould Prefer an Astronaught record. It was all I listened to for weeks.

Wow, this really takes me back to when I was just 16, when I was just discovering boys and what they did to my mind...when all I did was argue with my parents which made sneaking out every night a nice adrenaline rush...very young and very stupid. haha. Regardless of the MTV airplay, this is the single most underrated album of the 90's. Front to back, it's a masterpiece. No one sounded like them and no one has tried since, because they cant.

@heathy91 I'm with you, You'd Prefer... was my first HUM experience and I didn't think they could top it, but DIH is a more mature sound, and you can tell they had grown as a band and as musicians. Have you heard Electra 2000?

Hum was a great band that established a unique guitar-tone. It reminds me of what the Pumpkins were doing back in the Siamese Dream days. When you heard a riff from Siamese Dream, you KNEW it was the Pumpkins. Hum was the same way. The tones they used are unique and brilliant.
