This song never ceases to give me chills, no matter how many times I listen to it. We miss you, Clarence! I know you're up there with the other Big Man having a ball.
What a beautiful evening of music this was. Little did we in the audience that night know it was to be the last one we in London would share with Clarence. We will miss your spirit, sense of fun and muscianship Mr. C. I am looking forward to the 2012 tour, but something beautiful has gone for ever.
SO LADIES AND GENTLEMAN... ALWAYS LAST, BUT NEVER LEAST. LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE MASTER OF DISASTER, the BIG KAHUNA, the MAN WITH A PHD IN SAXUAL HEALING, the KING OF THE WORLD, LOOK OUT OBAMA! THE NEXT BLACK PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES EVEN THOUGH HE'S DEAD... YOU WISH YOU COULD BE LIKE HIM BUT YOU CAN'T! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE BIGGEST MAN YOU'VE EVER SEEN!... GIVE ME A C-L-A-R-E-N-C-E. WHAT'S THAT SPELL? CLARENCE! ... amen.
Im 7 months pregnant and everytime I play this song the baby starts kicking in my stomach! :D Especially when Big man starts playing the solo (which actually happens in every Bruce song with a saxophone solo)! Such an amazing song this is! <3 RIP Big Man!
I know next to nothing about Clarence Clemons, sax, or Springsteen for that matter. I grew up listening to hiphop, and I still love that genre. But the part from 4:19 and a couple of minutes on is the most beautiful music I have yet to find on youtube. I come here regularly to listen to that specific part. And this has solely to do with the man's skills with a sax, and nothing to do with him being dead.
@lemmedasker Well put. I am on the other end of the Spectrum - I grew up listening to heavy metal and still love that genre but that sax solo is awe inspiring and I have no words to describe it but you can speak for me
Please, tell me how a song can have such a profound effect on one's life? From the first time I heard this song, many years ago, I am still in a trance! I love every song that The Boss, with and without, the E street Band has ever exhaled from his mouth. This has the most profound effect on me though. Is there a better sax solo in all of music? I think not, but then again I am biased. Lyrics, instruments and solos...
This song has a profound and moving effect on me. For some inexplicable reason it makes me think of days gone by with deep emotion. It takes a certain golden glow to have that power with music. It's rare.
Hy mrbill clemons, I hope you have only good memorys of your brother. For me he was an amazing musician. The hart of the e-street band. It's hard to lose a brother. Good memorys can make the pain easyer to carry. Greats from a fan from holland
@MrBillClemons you do not understand how devastated I was when i found out about your brother. He was honestly a hero to me. The way he played saxophone brought shivers up my spine. He WAS the E-Street band.
@MrBillClemons I am just a fan watching this on blu ray and youtube afterwards. Your brother, may God rest his wonderful soul. I broke down in tears when I heard the terrible news. Just, thank you, thank you, thank you.
@MrBillClemons You must be one of the proudest brothers in the world, I just hope I go to the same place as Clarence when my time is up, won't be the same anywhere else.
@MrBillClemons Your brother is a true inspiration to the budding musicians of the future. I played this to a class of 16 year olds yesterday and they were amazed by the power of his playing.
dios mio porque siempre te estas llevando a los buenos a tu lado.que saxo por dios.espero que estes al lado del señor " big clemen " haciendo lo mejor .
We miss our beautiful bright light Clarence ..xo you're lights eternally shining within our hearts and in your beautiful music ..deep healing light and love to you Mr Bill Clemons..this is a beautiful song... xo
I was privileiged to be at this concert: the third time I have heard 'Jungleland' live. It's never failed to move me. Big Man can never be replaced. Or prove me wrong , Bruce.
Most fans of any music always compare their favorites with other musicians. Like comparing AC/DC and Van Halen. With Clarence solos, I was always listening again and again for which one is the best. I could never figure out which one was my favorite. But finding which was the best was not the point. The point was that ALL of Clarence's solos were amazing.
This song, and specially Clarence's solo, must be God''s gift to human. Clarence will be missed, that's for sure. But I feel so grateful for all the wonderful moments he gave us. I wish his family all the best.
you'll see him again Bill....he's in Heaven with all the other greats!!!! Your brother put a smile on people's faces and in their hearts before he even picked the sax up !!!!! The rest with Bruce and the band was all magic.... :) Sleep well and be happy...Your brother loves you very much !
i was priveleged to see the E Street band twice live in my life.....at St James and Brammel Lane in England......Clarence was and always will be a Legend.....as someone once said "Hero's come and go,but Legends never die".......
Agree with all the comments made, but have to say the definative version is the live in New York DVD , don't know why just has a different ring to it.
Bravo to an epic tribute to some of the best musicians of all time! Beautiful message Bill, heartfelt condolences to you and your loved ones - know that your brother will be forever immortalized in legendary music like this!
This song tears my heart out each time I hear it. From Bruce's words, the intensity of his voice, Roy's outstanding piano playing, Stevie's fantastic guitar solo, the spiritual jelling of each member of the band, and of course, my brother's solo, helps fill the huge void in my heart while missing my brother and my best friend, "Big Clem" (high school nickname), The Big Man, Clarence Clemons. I miss you terribly, bro. With tears still flowing, know that I will always love you. "Lil Clem".
@MrBillClemons My heart breaks for your loss, but always know your brother changed music in a way millions will never forget. In an era when each band has a sound similar to the next, no one will EVER be able to emulate or replace the raw talent and emotion that Clarence poured out of that saxophone... RIP Big Man!
@MrBillClemons Bruce is like a conductor in the band, but Clarence . . . Sweet man, made their music so much more meaningful and powerful, like a tour guide. His playing looked so effortless, with perfect control over the sounds. It all looked so easy as he did it.
@MrBillClemons I'm not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes listening to this when I was there. Beautiful summers evening with some completely mindblowing music topped off with an iconic saxophone solo by one of THE legends of music. I listened to it again the day I heard of his sad passing and I promise you those tears were rolling down my cheek. I only saw him once, but his music will stay with me forever. Godspeed Big Man.
@MrBillClemons Rest in peace Clarence - what lovely words - C's solos make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and fills me with soul. A void has been created with his loss but he leaves a huge mark across this world and to all his fans. I will never tire of listening to his great music. Shine on you crazy diamond. :)
@MrBillClemons Mr Bill Clemons ,I'am so sorry for the loss of your brother ''The Big Man''. I have enjoyed Bruce and the E Street Band since ''Greetiings'. Clarence was always such and intricate part of the live show. He always brought the house down,he was beloved by everyone who witnessed the magic that was simply Clarence.
He and Danny are playing together in Rock n Roll Heaven. R.I.P you are missed

@MrBillClemons We will miss him ever so much, too. Nobody occupied that special place in this universe that Clarence did. Nobody. I loved him from the the 1st time I saw and heard him rip that horn. He lives, through you and I and through thrse magical recordings. Eternally, he lives though all of us.
@MrBillClemons I was nicknamed " Wee Clem" at school and have listened to and loved your brother's genius since a lad in Glasgow. God bless you and your family Bill, I never met " Big Clem", but I have shed tears for the loss of a beautiful human being.
@MrBillClemons Your brother was the absolute greatest, sir. Every time I pick up a guitar and try to write it is with the intense and heavy knowledge that I am writing music for a world where Clarence Clemmons lived.
17 people dislike this, maybe they listen to the singers who don't really sing live or write their own music....you know the untalented ones...who unfortunately sell way too many Cd's...so they have no idea what talent really is....
to be honest, im never that guy that always comments on the dislikes of the video. but this song... and the energy from it... how the FUCK do 16 people dislike this.... im sorry but i just dont get it.
What a wonderful musician, Big Man...I would remember all my life of this show to Carhaix in 2009 in the rain. Can be not the best concert of E street Band but a wonderful memory of generosity of the group. THANK YOU and R.I.P Big Man
16 dislikes?! To the 16 people who disliked this video, you guys obviously know nothing about true legends when you see them and true music when you hear it. This is just epic!
Clarence you absolute legend. This solo just defines you, it is one of the best. The E Street Band lives on and you live on in their memories & are still part of the journey that they are going to continue to embark on. Your solos are epic & you are truly missed and live on in all of our hearts. We love you Clarence Big Man Clemons <3
Does anybody know who wrote Clarence's solo in this? Bruce is given credit for the song. Does Clarence write all the solos? Or just the ones he might be given credit to?
Still one of the most majestic rock songs ever written and performed. I never tire of hearing it. If anything it's gotten better with age. R.I.P. Big Man.
I swear; Does anybody still know how to mix? Bruce Springsteen, one of the ten greatest voices in the history of rock, but does he need to be 20 db over the rest of the band (especially in the intro and after the solo section; dude, what were you thinking?) to prove the fact? Fantastic ensemble playing by some of the best and most talented musicians anywhere, all the pathos you could desire. This is MUSIC! Just pull the lead vocal down a little bit, man.
Possibly the greatest video on YouTube

Does anybody know who wrote Clarence's solo in this? Bruce is given credit for the song. Does Clarence write all the solos? Or just the ones he might be given credit to?
AsherSax 6 months ago
@AsherSax
Bruce did. He wrote all of his own music.

Seit Clarence tot ist sehe/höre ich jeden Song der E-Street Band ganz anders.
Es macht mich traurig das es schon losgeht das die E-Street Band wegstirbt.
Jeder der genialen Songs des Boss höre ich jetzt anders.
