  • That wad good, but kind of harsh. I get your point about hmong men, but not everybody today is like that anymore. It's just usually the older hmong men only from my experience.

  • @UntouchableMoments Very understandable! I think I should have been more specific with the title.. thanks for watching! :DD

  • 1. Give Women Voting Rights

    2. Give Women Equal Rights

    3. Give Women Extra Rights

    4. Give Women Extra Protection... from Men

    5. Hear only Women and Ignore Men

    6. Believe Women only and Treat men as Perpetrators

    7. Let Women Falsely Accuse Men without Consequences

    8. Encourage Women to be Helpless Victims and to think of All Men as Rapists

    9. Encourage False Accusations by Women (VAWA) and Punish Innocent Men

    10. ...Watch Women Destroy Men, the Family and Society !!!

  • Im a hmong men lol i do agree we need to change n there r a lot of f up hmong ppl too

  • where you from mai? your english is so fluent like your from the suburban. just wondering.

  • @Xlee9898 No I'm not from the suburban lol actually from the East Side of St. Paul :)

  • I do like your spoken word piece Mai..deep stuff :)..Imma say this..let me know if im correct or not.It is not Hmong men that u hate it is the Patriarchal system in our society..but because it is heavily ingrained into the Hmong culture that Men are dominated and women are not.there are a lot of things in our culture that dislike..yet there are so much that empowers us as well..I enjoy how you look at the history too..I give u mad props..check out my vid too its more about masculinity

  • @KaMoobtianMUSIZ Thank you so much! Yes that is a good way to explain this and thank you for understanding :)) I'll check out your stuff!

  • Hi, I've got to say, this is a very strong piece and it takes a lot of will and gut to have these issues put out. Everything is a risk, even me writing this comment can be a risk, so first off, thanks for taking a risk.

I understand there are a lot of comments that disapprove of your vid, and my response to that is step back, look around, listen and think about what is true/real about her lyrics. I mean, yes, "not all Hmong men" are like that, but it's also important to know these things happen

  • @poyeev Yes! Exactly! Thank you for that! I did not intend to bash on Hmong men, but to have a better understanding of both sides. I think when people first look at this piece, it comes out strong like "The amount of effort that it will take to sum up all of my HATE will take very little effort when it comes to Hmong men"

  • @maithaoxiong and instantly, that word HATE just comes out really aggressive which I did start out feeling very aggressive towards Hmong men, but in the process of completing this piece, I realized that most Hmong men who are this way against women are just misunderstood and "maybe it's not these Hmong men I hate...it's this enslaving, women stepping, discriminating culture that I hate" which it is the discrimination in the culture that I hate and think we as a Hmong community should work on.

  • @maithaoxiong Yes, I mos def agree. I was going to point that out, but youtube has a limit on word count. Another thing I got from your vid is that you actually do respect Hmong men. You recognize their efforts especially during the War experience, and abuse is something that happens due to the effects of war. This is very prevalent, not just in the Hmong community, but the Southeast Asian community as well. I think the first step is to bring awareness and then question, what do we do next?

  • @poyeev First of all, THANK YOU for your words. You really spoke my heart! Today I was actually questioning myself about this monologue; I was wondering if I had said anything disapproving in this video to make people think that I'm prejudice against Hmong men...but your words really reassured me that I didn't! Thank you! Yes, we need to bring awareness so we can all be on the same page so we can take action. I feel like I'm still learning and growing! Please keep in contact and share your ideas

  • dayom... u stayed up to recite this. LOL.

  • @SuperMastak LOL OMG I did when I performed this monologue and another one last year! I stayed up so late doing this AND another one that was even longer! However I was working on music and I just recorded this because I felt like it. This was the third take kekek!

  • This piece will not help you to be a sucessful actress. You better off study shake spear. You want good monologues, get the book call, " The 80's Monologue". It will help your better to become a sucesseful actress. That's what got Johny Dep and Dustin Dewing into 21 JumpStreet. Good luck to you.

  • @kablia12hlisntuj Thank you very much! I am headed the right direction then! I am actually NOT aiming at being an actress nor did I ever mention going into that field. I am double majoring in English and Communications and do have a strong interest in Shakespeare =)

  • I am not sure what this piece of monologue spent too much of your time for is for, but I think maybe you have some guilts against Hmong Men because you saw your mom, your aunt, or some relative in your family being abused by a 0.001% of retard Hmong Men. Just to let you know most Hmong men are good men. Just think God sent you to be borned into a Hmong Family for a reason. If you think Hmong men are bad, maybe you should be borned into a muslim family in the middle east.

  • Maybe your just living a harsh life , so don't put your hatred over hmong mens. Hate is a strong world and remember, without men there won't be you as well as without women there won't be us. For everyone men have a different apparent, personality, perspective, and humanity don't pull it on all of them. Because the world is not perfect doesn't mean life is. So for my hmong sister, think again before you hate on hmong men.

  • stinging words little one...but respect gained by stepping on those you antagonize is not respect...it'll be something more along the lines of dishonor :P

  • @bebaboo Like I mentioned in the description, this is through my perspective so sorry I can't sugarcoat my frustration. I believe I am free to express frustration these days.

Also, I'm afraid there was a misread on your part. In this piece, my words specifically said "step OVER these men" not "step ON these men". "Stepping over" indicates a clear focus on walking to avoid stepping on something NOT to hurt or disrespect as "stepping on" would imply; there is a concrete difference between the two

  • @maithaoxiong then allow me to say that i stand corrected. forgive me for misreading and misinterpreting your words.

  • oooh very nice.. but next time, try to make it rhyme more. it'll make your poem a bit more catchy.

  • @looghawj Thanks for watching...rhymes for sure next time ;)

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh pojtxoo.....lol
