Test of cheap Wide-Angle 0.67x lens for cams like Kodak Zi8

Are there any more expensive lenses that would give better quality ?

the Zi8 does not have a mount for official kodak lenses or such. This cheap lens is meant for mobile phones and has a metal ring with sticky underside and has to be 'glued' against the body of the Zi8 or mobile phone and then you can magnetically attach and disattach the lens. I don't think more expensive lenses exist with this magnetic system.

It took 3-4 weeks but it was during the december festive season and I already was warned that it would take a few weeks.

I just got this lens myself, I like the wide angle bit but I'm not a fan of the yellowish tint it seems to give. If only there was a way to get rid of that.

yes I noticed that too. I think it is because this is such a cheap lens that the glass they are using for the lens is of cheap quality :(

I noticed on the package it says "Special coating on lens provides professional quality" I don't find it very professional to be yellow tinted, oh well. Still a nice lens for the money. Makes video recording things easier now that I don't have to stand back an extra 5 feet to record.

oh I never noticed that text on the package but since the lens was cheap my expectations weren't so high and to be honest what you get for the money is quite good. It indeed makes it alot easier if you want to film your family or pets indoors or so and for outdoors shots you can much more easily stand back and skip using the lens.
