I had an Icelandic friend who told me she believed Sigur Ros captured the spirit of Iceland, and I think that very true. Their music just takes you to another place. Listening to it for the first time was quite an experience. Love them :)

You're wrong too I'm afraid:

"Rose" implies a sharp s sound (like z in English) but it's a soft s (like in base).

It's also si-ur with a soft "y" sound in the middle, not si-or like you said.

Besides, 320,000 people speak Icelandic in the whole world. Even though I'm learning it I can't expect people to know how to pronounce it.
