@elguiri30 - it's typical though, but one thing I can say is that you do not have to be No. 1!
Not all want high publicity, and are happy just to be there for the fans who really appreciate them, for what they are, and just enjoy their music - too much emphasis today on getting to "No. 1" spot!
Anyway, I hope Tom will be bax soon too, with more new stuff!
Why aren't Tom and his brother Charlie Winston famous in Britain where they were both born and bred? This country sucks! Xfactor contestants are top of the pops here. Surely that says it all...
I think this is great song. I like both JB and Tom Baxter. I do think Tom Baxter is VERY simlar to JB's style, sound, songs..... but I', not bothered. It still sounds great.
Yeh...Maybe agree slightly...But sadly Jeff is no longer with us and Tom is...Tom also a little more melancholy...But love his voice and style anyway...
I don't particularly think so. It's like saying that Coldplay have borrowed from Radiohead. Just because there are some similarites between the style of music, it does not constitute 'borrowing heavily'. However, there is certainly a resemblance.
It is not just similarities of musical styles but phrasing, how the voice is used & melodic ideas.Chris Martin has his 'own' melodic style as does Tom Yorke. Their phrasing is also different.Yes the style of their music is similar but there is enough difference between them as artists to not constitute 'borrowed heavily'
The electric guitar tracks of Tom Baxter really anger me.Homage is one thing but wearing your 'Jeff Bucklyisms' like a cheap suit is not being an original artist.Further eamples of 'borrowing heavily' is Neil Hannon & Scott Walker.
Please give me a direct comparison of two songs then by each artist, respectively, with the same phrasing. I have listened to both extensively and fail to recognise a single phrase that has been 'borrowed'.
