  • Retards, this is fake.

There is no way a program (bot) can link those to togather its near impossible.

And besides if u never post on wow forums it still is impossible.

    100000% fake.

  • Might be fake, but what if this is what Blizzard wants in the near future? The social networking possibilities are limitless!

  • fake

  • It's fake.

  • This is fake and gay

  • LFM heroic Deadmines, must be Dave or higher.

  • As our all-time favourite romulan resident expert Senator Vreenak would say, it's a faaaaake!

  • This Video was a fake, you've all been trolled by an anti-GS retard.

  • @All those who say this is a fake just explain to me why the characters shown here can be found on the US armory? I want this to e fake... Because I play WoW... BUT if it's not then...

  • @jh198713

he created an addon that assigns random names to people you scrollover, you can see the maker of GS doing the exact same thing and showing that it's just a fake.

  • @jh198713 See what Verramoth said, exactly what he did, its a script that allows for you to put in several random names, and when you hover over it, it will randomly assign one, and "Remember" which character it linked it too, so it will display the same when it hovers over again. Notice how the retard in this video only hovered over like 3-4 names, and it's such a small video? He's trying to stir controversy so people wont use GS.

  • This only works if both parties have the same source code to gather this information. The "exploit" works because your real name is hidden on your friends list (note, YOUR friends list, not anyone else's). Through a simple loop code, an addon can locate your name and share this information to others with the same addon. If you're that scared about having your real name seen, just disable gearscore.

  • whataboutpp.c om/users/vhell/upload/gearscore32.jpg

    OMG freak out right?

  • @Feroids

Yeah well look at this: img97.imageshack.us/img97/6681/wowscrnshot070810183826.jpg

  • @Feroids Oh and FUCK youtube not letting me post links. In case you wonder why all my links are messed up and in multiple posts.

  • Fake stop getting your panties in a bunch the author of gearscore came out and said that this was fake himself and it's really easy to fake.

Anybody who believes this is a idiot

  • Gearscore yet again proves to be the Anti-WoW.

  • Server please?

  • @Orno

    Mal'ganis

While the author of GS has shown that it can be faked, we still don't know if what the person did here is fake or not. Only way to know for sure is to ask the people caught on this video what their names are.

  • @rahn45 wow.com/2010/07/08/that-scary-gearscore-real-id-screenshot-is-fake-guys/

  • I repeat, THIS VIDEO IS FAKED. The entire Gearscore "scare" was a hoax.

The author of this video has a blog here: gearscore.blogspot. co m where he admits the entire thing was a hoax. The videos and the screenshots are not real.

Here is a WoW. co m post about it: wow.co m/2010/07/08/that-scary-gearscore-real-id-screenshot-is-fake-guys/

And lastly, here is a video on how to recreate what you saw in this video: youtube.co m/watch?v=GO5zmuFTLtA

  • @Feroids Sorry for the fucked up URLS but fucking you tube won't let you post anything that says ww w, .c om, or htt p://

  • @Feroids Sure it is fake, but don't kid yourself, it is very possible that an addon can script this in, especially if RealID keeps going further.

  • This isn't an official version of the GearScore mod, but I'm pretty sure it's real.

  • @southernmost It's also easy to fake as demonstrated by the author of Gearscore here: youtube.com/watch?v=GO5zmuFTLtA

The author denies GS 3.2 exists. Amarandify has already shown dishonesty with the misleading title. What makes you think they didn't fabricate the video also?

The author of GS has everything to lose from being caught in a lie regarding this supposed. This anonymous youtube poster, has nothing to lose. They do it for the lulz.

  • hehehe just creeped out some guildies big time, this owns : )

  • Go onto the GS website, it's fake

  • youtube.com/watch?v=GO5zmuFTLtA

    GS creator disporves it dundundun

  • *****FAKED*****

Check the geearscore site ffs, there is no 3.2 GS -_-

  • Doesn't matter if this is fake or not, once the forums change this will be able to achieved quite similarly w/o GS with a just web scraper and an ingame addon DB.

  • I logged into malganis and asked one of the toons in the video and he confirmed his name. 100% real

  • FAKE OR NOT?

  • @MegaRoFLL Fake? mmm maybe... But don't kid yourself, third party addons taking advantage of RealID could easily make this a reality if the implementation of the forums becomes a reality. Which, considering the deal with facebook is done, something like this and even further and more intrusive leading to links to social networking account if you have them is a very real possibility. RealID on the forums opens up a can of worms not yet realized.

  • All the toons highlighted in this video are real and exist on Mal'ganis

If their attached names are real or not is another matter entirely.

  • where's the screamo?

  • Are the people in this video whom you click and reveal RealID for aware of, and consented to you posting their supposed RL names on Youtube?

I'm pretty certain that it's a violation of this website's ToS to post Rl names, even if Blizz is no longer honoring their own rule on the matter.

  • There is no paladin by the name in video on the armory for Mal'ganis.

    How fitting.

  • @scfs123

He doesn't highlight a paladin at all. He does a warrior, druid, shaman, and priest. I looked up the warrior's name and Grunok does come up on the realm Mal'Ganis.

  • @twilight38036 The paladin that took the video isn't on armory.

  • The creator of this video recently made a screenshot similar to this.

It was FAKE, and he even admitted to it.

So now he has tried a FAKE movie.

  • To people saying this is fake: What do you know about it other than some thing you just read? Actually try it before you say its fake, I just did and was surprised by the information I found.

  • @lgnlint Because the person who created this video already admitted to it being a fake when he first passed around a supposed screenshot. No, you didn't try it and discover anything like this. It IS a fake video, just like the fake screenshot. The Gearscore website is one research location you can visit to see that it's a fake, and WoW.com is another one. Again: IT. IS. FAKE.

  • No it is not possible to sue blizzard for this because they make you accept a bullshit agreement before you are allowed to play the game stating that they can get away with anything. Though then again they couldn't put "we are allowed to come to your house and murder you if you agree" and then carry it out.

This is serious enough for the state to possibly get involved. As far as america is concerned atleast, many other countries such as canada and germany may just ban wow altoghther

  • @Culanin it doesn't matter if you clicked "accept". If passing out people's RL names and violating their privacy violates, say, international law/business practices, putting an "accept/decline" won't remove their liability. It's like giving someone a contract saying "it's okay for me to shoot you", getting them to sign it (without duress) and then shooting them. You've still committed several crimes.

  • FAKE

  • wow.com/2010/07/08/that-scary-gearscore-real-id-screenshot-is-fake-guys

  • I wonder if the creator of GS will ever post on the WoW forums when REALID is implemented.

  • @merc344 Yes I will.

  • That's pretty disturbing. I hope they are going to do something about this security hole.

  • Comment removed

  • I cant believe blizzard is invading out privacy like this, it's just crazy. I wonder if there is a way to sue them?

  • @lgnlint you mean the Gearscore mod?

  • @lgnlint Your stupid, you accept the EULA and ToC every time you sign in, so even if this was possible, your telling Blizzard its ok to do it by accepting em. You cant just sue some one because they do something you don't like.

  • @owenmcurnutt "Your" stupid, lmao, learn how to spell before you call somebody stupid.

  • @owenmcurnutt : First, it's "You're."

Secondly, the EULA isn't law. Furthermore, you can't simply waive all of your rights by signing a document, let alone an e-document.

I'd watch what I was saying if I was going to call someone else stupid.
