I live in the heart of America Northwestern PA,, and my heirloom organic garden went through hell this summer with the drought that we suffered for nearly a month and a half not to mention all the early spring rain that kept me from tilling my soil the aluminum and beryllium aerosol spraying took their toll on my watermelon and fruits did not produce enough even to collect seeds and everything else only produced half portions of what they normally would am now building busters for next year..

Earlier, in Norway, there was this concept they called "Koloni-hager" which in English translates to "Colonial gardens" which would be a humorous term, what it was: City people rented small spots from farmers on which they could grow vegetables and berries etc.

Monsanto isn't really a company, I look at it more like a parasitic entity. It doesn't produce anything worthwhile for society, it just takes things that exist naturally (corn, for instance) and modifies them so that Monsanto becomes the soul provider of their patented "roundup ready" versions and generates wealth by ripping off farmers and the public. What they do should be illegal.

My family used to grow this Light Color Green Zucchini that is no longer found anywhere in the US You have to go to Italy and bring the seeds. @morningmayan One way would be to google for a GMO related article that is really good and mail that person who wrote it. Then fill them in on the situation, preferably attaching as much sources about it as you can. And at the same time ask them about where one could turn to get the word out.
Radio stations is also an option, but i admit, i have little experience in how to best approch those people. They do have the best coverage though, reaching into cars for people to and from work.

Another thing that is of concern is the power big drug companies have in Washington. Herbal supplements have the natural ability to work with your body, but drug companies would like to see many of them banned. They want you to believe they have some magic pill for you, but in most cases won't be a cure. In any case, I hope this lawsuit against this big chemical giant favors the organic farmers.
God Bless our farmers. Monsanto's largest chemical plant is about an hour from my house. I live in an agricultural community and I truly worry for our farmers. I try and support them every day buying all my food from local produce markets and contributing to the FFA. We can't make it without young people willing to work in farming like their parents did.

there are reasons to not use canola oil. It is a hybrid of two plants one being rapeseed which is poisonous. It kills bugs. But I get what you mean. I wish I knew how to support these farmers. Monsanto is freaking evil.

What we are worried about is that the seeds to grow our own food will ALL be genetically engineered, and we will not have the choice of having any pure ones, anymore. This IS a serious and real problem which is escalating!

The one talked in circles for the next ten minutes and then said we were talking about raw milk here and we have a couple other things to talk about as well right now. Earlier, in Norway, there was this concept they called "Koloni-hager" which in English translates to "Colonial gardens" which would be a humorous term, what it was: City people rented small spots from farmers on which they could grow vegetables and berries etc.
Oftentimes the farmer would help out as an overseer.
This is a very good concept.

Another good action: Get local food sovereignty ordinances passed (as in Maine). These reinforce citizen's rights to produce, process, sell, purchase and consume local foods of their choosing. They're talking about "Integrity, Transparency, Sharing," trying to stick a happy face mask on a rabid chupacabra. If masses of people keep lowering the mask, it worries them. have you seen the food at stop n shop? you know that stuff thats always marked under "nature's promise"? well why do i have a feeling that its just a fake name they put under the food to make it seem like its actually organic to satisfy customers...could be true or not but when i see a can of tuna, just regular tuna by stop n shop then theres tuna that says "nature's promise", how does that make sense when their both caught from the sea?!! i dont think they are farming tuna......

Monsanto isn't really a company, I look at it more like a parasitic entity. It doesn't produce anything worthwhile for society, it just takes things that exist naturally (corn, for instance) and modifies them so that Monsanto becomes the soul provider of their patented "roundup ready" versions and generates wealth by ripping off farmers and the public. What they do should be illegal.

...Just dropping a line to say I support the farmers (FIGHTING) for the natural right and freedom to produce NATURAL food. That's all it is...NATURAL-FOOD. Instead of farms producing natural food to make a living, profits, etc., MONSANTO has turned the trade of farming/gardening into a corporate nightmare in which government beneficiaries and millionaires that never laid foot on a farm decide what we eat, and decide which is more healthy for us. They also have both parties in their pocket.

You start out squinting to read the Ingredients lists on supermarket food. Then you get smarter and buy from local organic farmers, only to find that the government's trying to hamstring them. After all, small farms are one of the fastest growing businesses, and we can't have prosperity going to non-elites now, can we? Monsanto is guilty of Nuremberg-type crimes against humanity. They replace nature's genius with twisted, sci-fi manipulation to toxify the garden of Eden. God should sue as well!

A couple of years ago I stocked up on organic seeds because I knew this was going to happen. People thought I was crazy when I told them to do the same. This spring the same people asked me where to get them. People WAKE UP!!! Now I'm moving far away from people, cities and all the crap that comes from them. God bless you for your help in waking the sheeple up. We need more like you. Oh yeah! The USDA now owns the word "organic" Be careful how you use it.

There are several kinds of Vegitables that are going extinct ... My family used to grow this Light Color Green Zucchini that is no longer found anywhere in the US You have to go to Italy and bring the seeds. These Zucchini can grow to 10 feet long & they are incredible tasting in several kinds of Minstrone soups and pasta so I know that real Organic Food Growing is going extinct because of these companies that are trying to make it illegal for you to have your own Vegitable Gardens

Congratulations to the farmers. I've wondered why there was no big campaign in the USA against the Monsanto-Mafia and corrupted as irresponsible acting politicians up now. Hope the U.S. nation will support the farmers. Without the support of the masses of people their fight will boil into nothing I'm afraid.
But the same thing here, people are blind and manipulated so they don't hear, see, speak. Hope for the change in 2012, it's time at the end of times.

@morningmayan One way would be to google for a GMO related article that is really good and mail that person who wrote it. Then fill them in on the situation, preferably attaching as much sources about it as you can. And at the same time ask them about where one could turn to get the word out.
Radio stations is also an option, but i admit, i have little experience in how to best approch those people. They do have the best coverage though, reaching into cars for people to and from work.

Do people know? Canola oil is made at a processing facility by crushing the genetically modified rapeseed. Look it up. ...In 1968 Dr. Baldur Stefansson of the University of Manitoba used selective breeding to develop a variety of rapeseed that was low in erucic acid. In 1974 another variety was produced that was low in both erucic acid and glucosinolates; it was named Canola, from (Can)adian (o)il, (l)ow (a)cid. Just Google "The Dangers Of Canola Oil"

Clarence Thomas was a trail lawyer for Monsanto....what is he today? The supreme court judge....who was the one that signed in to law that made it illegal for farmers to save their seeds!!! Monsanto has been hard at work to put the seed cleaners out of business so farmers can not save seeds. You will be sick to learn how many former Monsanto employees are now in control of USDA, FDA just to name a couple. Other countries are burning Monsanto's crop fields, only here do we let them stay. Why?

@morningmayan not yet. the EU will not allow monstanto seeds etc to be used with europe. Its changing now, but the european union protects us from monstanto. only good thing it does do. Also genetically modified foods are not for sale in UK yet either.

Another thing that is of concern is the power big drug companies have in Washington. Herbal supplements have the natural ability to work with your body, but drug companies would like to see many of them banned. They want you to believe they have some magic pill for you, but in most cases won't be a cure. In any case, I hope this lawsuit against this big chemical giant favors the organic farmers.

God Bless our farmers. Monsanto's largest chemical plant is about an hour from my house. I live in an agricultural community and I truly worry for our farmers. I try and support them every day buying all my food from local produce markets and contributing to the FFA. We can't make it without young people willing to work in farming like their parents did.

If you've never heard of it, check out Percy Schmizer v.s. monsanto. They are suing HIM because THEY'RE seed's got into HIS canola crop. That's right, they are suing him! Unreal. (not sure if I spelled his name right)

there are reasons to not use canola oil. It is a hybrid of two plants one being rapeseed which is poisonous. It kills bugs. But I get what you mean. I wish I knew how to support these farmers. Monsanto is freaking evil.

What we are worried about is that the seeds to grow our own food will ALL be genetically engineered, and we will not have the choice of having any pure ones, anymore. This IS a serious and real problem which is escalating!

I have to say one more thing...
I was at a town hall meeting in Sept of last year and I asked the three masonic senators that were there about Monsanto... The one talked in circles for the next ten minutes and then said we were talking about raw milk here and we have a couple other things to talk about as well right now. Later on after the meeting I was told that Penn State did the R&D for them and everybody was basically paid to shut up if they wanted to keep their jobs..! EVERBODY..!

@morningmayan Most people have absolutely NO idea who Monsanto even is, believe it or not. I have now,(especially as of late), refused to buy certain names like Tyson & Perdue... I bought some chicken legs last month and took them out of the freezer and cooked em up and they're NOT the same as they used to be..! I was getting all my meats and poultry at a butcher shop over the last two years and there is NO comparison..! The crap you buy at the store is all GMO garbage..!
