Thank you!!! I use Sony Vegas for editing. It's an awesome program. I've used Final Cut Pro for years, but Sony Vegas is just so much better to me.

Did you use an HD MiniDV for this or just a regular one? I bought the camera the other day and my quality was like a normal camera =[. I must have done something wrong.

Just a regular miniDV tape. When I first bought it the quality looked like a normal camera, but just go online to find a tutorial on adjusting the settings and you'll find that it does have really high quality imagery. It's all in the settings. Don't do any automatic. It should all be manual.

iv'e long searched for a convincing answer between which is better: the HV40 or the HFS 100, which one produces better footage, from what iv'e seen from ur stuff, the HV looks much better

I have had the same question for the past month

Ive decided on the hv20-40

the hfs10 is great but the quality is not as good as the hv but the hv has a few issues with shakiness

also the format that the hf s10 films in is hard for computers to handle while the dv tape that the hv has is very easy to deal with

Almost this entire video was shot handheld and the shots are very smooth. It does seem a bit shaky at first, but this video proves that a very steady hand can tame that aspect. :)

I don't think you need a good computer for it. I have no idea what the VX1000 is. I think the HV30 is an amazing camera. It's the best rated camera under $1000 right now.

No comparison at all. The VX1000 is a worthless camera now. It was Sony's best consumer camera back in 1995. It is standard definition and the footage would be mediocre at best after looking at HD stuff from modern cameras.
