People like Maddow on MSNBC and Chris Wallace on FOX News who bash the 'left' or the 'right' for whatever mistakes they make just further the false-dichotomy of left/right in our nation. They don't tell you the truth, that the left and right are not so different, that UP and DOWN is what's important in our society!
The mainstream media along with their multinational corporation backed owners are trying to keep us DOWN through divide and conquer tactics you're loving it!
We have a failed system,a system of bureaucrats & republicrats. At this point in time it would be no different if we elected our own neighbors(actually probably better off)we have a government that is so out of touch with reality, economy and efficiency that we are now 15,000,000,000,000 in debt and our dollar is worth nothing and what do these talk show host argue about?what ppl wear, what sexual orientation some one is,who had a bad hair day, lady gaga, at the end of the day offer no solutions
Only liberals like rachel maddow because like people on fox news all she does is smear the other side. She's a piece of trash who is a part of today's political partisanship. BigMikeMcBastard has one of the dumbest comments ever.
I just adore Maddow. I find it interesting that many right wing criticisms of her (other than the stock Lesbian comments) focus on her intelligence and education, though. Great Maddow compilation, thanks!
According to the coverage of the Iowa State Fair/Straw Poll, Santorum's campaign is giving away "Santorum Jam" and other Santorum food products..... Can't wait to see how that plays out in the comedic commentaries.
According to the coverage of the Iowa State Fair/Straw Poll, Santorum's campaign is selling "Santorum Jam" and other Santorum food products..... Can't wait to see how that plays out in the comedic commentaries.
@Flegetanis Tried to delete this post after I found out they were giving the stuff away; I hope some of my friends in attendance there bring some back for me!
I don't think her journalism skills have anything to do with it. They don't like her because she's intelligent, a lesbian, and has short hair instead of long dyed blond hair like Fox News anchors. That's basically it. The people who dislike Maddow don't give a shit about journalism, they only want their prejudices and fears validated.
An intelligent homosexual woman they don't find attractive is anathema to these people who don't respect women at all, and homosexuals even less.
@BigMikeMcBastard You know, it is actually prejudice for you to say these things about members of the GOP. I am a Libertarian leaning member of the GOP and I don't like FOX News anchors OR Maddow, and it has nothing to do with her intellect. She is arrogant and uses derogatory terms to offend certain Americans and shape the prejudices of others.
@anonwoohoo It isn't as if Maddow invented the term teabagger. The Tea Party itself embraced the term for a while during its heyday. Acting as if Maddow is "promoting hate speech" by poking fun at their self-identification as teabaggers seems a bit silly to me.
As for the rest, until the GOP stops advocating sexist, racist, and homophobic policies you, as a member of the GOP, cannot avoid having these terms be associated with you. And sorry, but political beliefs aren't protected.
@BigMikeMcBastard Alright, for the same of your argument, let's replace the word with another derogatory term, "nigger." Just because I didn't invent the term, doesn't mean it's alright for me to use it! Also, black people seem to embrace the term, calling each other "nigga," an abbreviated form.
So, if I call black people "nigger" is it considered 'poking fun at their self-identification? Or is it hate speech?
As for the rest, the Democrats promote inequality more viciously than the GOP.
@BigMikeMcBastard Yes I am, and judging by your futile attempt to shrug off the comparison you don't know how to reply because I've caught you doing exactly what you accuse the GOP of!
I didn't invent the term 'nigger' just like Maddox didn't invent the term 'teabagger.' Also, black people embrace the term, just as you claim Tea Partiers embrace the term 'teabagger.'
@BigMikeMcBastard Both words have a long history. The Tea Party, being a throwback to the feeling of resentment towards oppressive government during the Revolution. Many people died as a result of tax protests and anti-government protests that turned into a Revolutionary war.
When I hear someone who is a voice of the Establishment Media using derogatory language aimed at those who protest the Corrupt Oppressive Establishment whose predecessor was the British Empire, I take it rather seriously.
@BigMikeMcBastard I am proud of MLK and the civil rights movement. I mean no disrespect to black people at all, but any derogatory term that has a related history dating back to struggles against oppressors being used to define a group of people is intolerance and hate speech.
You are also guilty of prejudice by accusing the GOP of being racist and homophobic, when in actuality the Liberals are the ones actually passing the racist legislature!
@BigMikeMcBastard Let me add that I would never actually use the word "nigger" in reference to a person. This is merely meant to serve as an example of exactly what Rachel Maddow is doing. Now, whether it is something the Tea Partiers identify themselves as is an interesting debate. I don't know if they call themselves Tea Baggers, but since it carries a sexual connotation I would assume that professional political correspondents would refrain from defining people in those terms.
@BigMikeMcBastard Consider that treating people unequally due to the color of their skin is a form of racial prejudice. The Democrats pushing their 'affirmative action' which allows for under experienced minorities to take precedence over white people when it comes to getting jobs. Also, the fact that minorities get more money for college from the government.
This is racial inequality and the Democrats are the ones who push for it. This is the true heart of institutionalized racism in America.
@BigMikeMcBastard Assuming that other people are prejudice is the same as being prejudice. I dont go around saying "Liberals hate Chris Wallace because he is white and has a lot of money."
Liberals often accuse Conservatives of being racist and/or prejudice; they love to point fingers, but rarely do any of my Conservative friends EVER show ANY sort of prejudice against minorities, homosexuals, women etc.
It is highly disrespectful, arrogant, and ignorant for you to make such claims.
@BigMikeMcBastard She calls people Tea-baggers. If you don't know what tea-bagging is then look it up; it's a derogatory term used to offend Tea Partiers (I don't like what the Tea Party has become either, but I don't call them names.)
In this way she trains Liberals to despise Tea Partiers and trains them on what derogatory language to use. This is pure propaganda/hate speech.
It is insane how backwards the minds of some people are. She promotes hate against the GOP; we don't hate her!
You're right on the money. But, as history shows us, those who tell the truth most often are the ones who get the most hate. I hope she can keep doing this for a long time. We need to continue to give her our support.
She's definitely not always right, and once in a while I disagree with her, but she definitely has one of the MOST accurate news shows and it's obvious her and her team work very hard. She's a treasure.
