I don't think her journalism skills have anything to do with it. They don't like her because she's intelligent, a lesbian, and has short hair instead of long dyed blond hair like Fox News anchors. That's basically it. The people who dislike Maddow don't give a shit about journalism, they only want their prejudices and fears validated.

An intelligent homosexual woman they don't find attractive is anathema to these people who don't respect women at all, and homosexuals even less.

@BigMikeMcBastard Both words have a long history. The Tea Party, being a throwback to the feeling of resentment towards oppressive government during the Revolution. Many people died as a result of tax protests and anti-government protests that turned into a Revolutionary war.

When I hear someone who is a voice of the Establishment Media using derogatory language aimed at those who protest the Corrupt Oppressive Establishment whose predecessor was the British Empire, I take it rather seriously.

@BigMikeMcBastard Let me add that I would never actually use the word "nigger" in reference to a person. This is merely meant to serve as an example of exactly what Rachel Maddow is doing. Now, whether it is something the Tea Partiers identify themselves as is an interesting debate. I don't know if they call themselves Tea Baggers, but since it carries a sexual connotation I would assume that professional political correspondents would refrain from defining people in those terms.

@BigMikeMcBastard Consider that treating people unequally due to the color of their skin is a form of racial prejudice. The Democrats pushing their 'affirmative action' which allows for under experienced minorities to take precedence over white people when it comes to getting jobs. Also, the fact that minorities get more money for college from the government.

This is racial inequality and the Democrats are the ones who push for it. This is the true heart of institutionalized racism in America.

@BigMikeMcBastard She calls people Tea-baggers. If you don't know what tea-bagging is then look it up; it's a derogatory term used to offend Tea Partiers (I don't like what the Tea Party has become either, but I don't call them names.)

In this way she trains Liberals to despise Tea Partiers and trains them on what derogatory language to use. This is pure propaganda/hate speech.

It is insane how backwards the minds of some people are. She promotes hate against the GOP; we don't hate her!

You're right on the money. But, as history shows us, those who tell the truth most often are the ones who get the most hate. I hope she can keep doing this for a long time. We need to continue to give her our support.

She's definitely not always right, and once in a while I disagree with her, but she definitely has one of the MOST accurate news shows and it's obvious her and her team work very hard. She's a treasure.
