are you dumbasses really pulling faggotry saying a covor song makes them a wanna be? there is not a SINGLE band recorded with a label who doesnt have a covor song they play in every set list. STFU faggot and learn to play an instrument and maybe youll take the finger out your ass and stop being a "wanna be". dumb fucks. supervillains are gods.
@SkankinDevil89 So true. I don't think most people realize that "Smoke Two Joints" is a COVER. Sublime didn't write that song. It is originally by a band called The Toyes.
@kladivous yeah, lol, he even says it at the very beginning of the last track on 40oz, Thanx. " Before we did Smoke Two Joints, that as Jack from The Toyes ". some of my favorite Sublime songs are covers, "Foolish Fool, 5446 thats my number, Ball and Chain, Hope, and the list goes on and on. Supervillains cover a few songs, and people talk shit about them. Sometimes covers are better than the originals too.
@SkankinDevil89 I agree. Johnny Cash "Hurt", Primus "Have a Cigar", and the absolute best cover ever Joe Cocker "With a Little Help From My Friends". He crushed that song!
i remember when this band was so small no one even knew who they were. i miss those days when i would see em and there would only be about 30 people there. these guys are one of my favorite bands out there!
@Dareitus Like fucking hell it is. Can you even hear? That is quite obviously Skart's voice. Shut the fuck up, rip a bong, and stop to think next time you want to spread a rumor like that, asshole. Ever stop to think that maybe your local band covered the song too? It's pretty well known...
I don't think this album sounds bad, but it's just not the villains that I've literally listened to since they were a sloppy ska/punk band. This album is missing the really irie tunes that the previous albums had. Also, since cardo left ive missed the full horn sound. Oh, well. They're still like the 2nd best band out of O-Town. After the Junkie.....Of course.
Bobby Koelble is a good part of this song... That's about it. What happened, Supervillians? I'm sure Nat doesn't like playing this, JunkieRush would have never made him do this..
Yeah dude i think it was completely worth the 10 bucks, i was a little dissapointed there were less stonage songs but i saw them last v day when they came to houston, they put on a great show dudebro
@joemomma0608 I was there with my girlfriend! Awesome! They were with Less Than Jake. Ever since I have introduced my girlfriend to these guys, she has fallen in love with them.
I happen to love the new album. I think they've done a great job of sort of growing up without losing much of what made them to begin with. I saw them in Grand Rapids last week with Less Than Jake and they were PHENOMENAL. They're touring with Nathan Anderson from junkierush and he's just amazing. I was so impressed. Not to mention they just killed Careless Whisper.
so, for those who have listened to this album how does it stacj uo to the rest. i wish the supervillains used less horns and went for dub, ska, punk and not so much this style. but whats your review
There are other bands who have done more interesting covers but none of them have multiple great covers. For that reason The Supervillains win! Also, when I say cover I mean cover, NOT imitation. Just copying a song is not covering it. To this day my favorite cover is Primus playing "Have a Cigar".
@sean99766 The only cover of their's that I really like is 99 Red Balloons. Hell, you could throw in Me First and the Gimme Gimmes but what they have is a giant collection of covers that are just ok. I actually neglected to mention what is undoubtedly the best cover of all time. It is Joe Cocker covering "With a Little Help From My Friends". So good that people often forget that it was a Beatles song. You could probably also throw in Nine Inch Nails "Hurt" covered by Johnny Cash.
the supervillains have somehow made 2 epic songs even better. not to say that this and movin out are better than the originals, but damn good. thnx for posting this dude!
