  • Nice, but can't hear the cello.

  • I'd rearrange it with the cello taking the melody and the tin whistle as accompaniment. In your current arrangement, the cello is wasted in my opinion. Might as well play the whistle solo.

  • it's...absolutly beautiful...

  • Very nice..but cant hear the cello!! :O

  • very lovely! well done, have you any more tunes up?

  • muy bueno!!!

  • I love your duet, it's beautiful ... very beautiful. I've postet this song too some times ago. It's one of my favorites.

greetings to you and your girlfriend.

  • very good!!!! but i think Cello should be louder~ :)

  • Beautiful. Well done you guys; keep up the good work!

  • Is the same digitacion as a soprano recorder?? can you put the notes?? I like how it sounds...

    Thank you for your video.

  • well played! Very nice indeed

  • Gorgeous up until the key change! I guess the sort of negative comments apply to the second whistle.

    Best Wishes

  • lovely. thanks for share!

  • i wish i could hear the cello just a bit more.

    GOD i love cello!

    great job though

  • the playing is great, no complaints there, but the whistle is way out of tune.

  • you can't tune those whistles unfortunately they are a very cheap and common brand if they come out of tune when you buy it its too bad pulling the head out on these do very little

  • @frogeyedsnuffy Yes, it's the lucky...Now I have 3 Bb Generation whistles...I have one now that aprouches as much 440...

  • sorry just get really annoyed when people make comments like those especially when there isn't much you can do about it i thought the playing was lovely by the way i play black flute, cello and a little bit of whistle am looking into gettin a michael burke lovely whistles nice tone hope you post more soon

  • @frogeyedsnuffy Thank you for support...I heard Burke is a great brand of whistles...Don't know any!

  • They are lovely easy to play nice tone it s good you i have found one that is as near to being in tune as you possibly can get i bet it makes a big difference

  • @andrenm2 I have three Burke whistles (soprano D, low F, low D) and they are excellent. The low D is a Viper; check his webpage. Tunable via slide, plus the lowest hole is on a separate section so you can rotate it to match your finger span. The tone on all three whistles is excellent. Last time I checked, he was going to start doing low whistles in brass; I bet those will sound great.

    Nice video.

  • no its in tune generation and walton are a very good brand of whistle and only go out of tune if the metal is dameged or warped

  • Very nice stuff :D 5/5

  • you have a beautifully sounding whistle. majestic

  • i'm still to that kind of intrument..so why are there two flutes/ tin whistles?

  • Two different keys...One is in Bb, and the other in the key of D

  • is a "low whistle" hard to play? Like the scarbarough fair song played by the celtic women -- they have someone playing one. I think thats what it's called. Which is easier to find someone to tutor you in too?

  • Well, if you have large hands, you won't have problem learning the Low Whistle...But is harder to learn, than the Tin Whistle...The Scarborough Fair played by Celtic Women is, indeed, played with a beautifully Low Whistle...

In my country you can't find a tin whistle or low whistle teacher...

  • Nice!

you got any sheet music for the tin whistle?

  • No, that's by ear...thank you

  • this is beautiful! As was Amazing Grace!

  • Thank you so much...

  • Nothing mad (or tired--maybe more like relief that the afternoon was done) about that beautiful pair of smiles at the end.

  • That's right! Thank you...

  • This is easy peace.. try to put more emotions to it.. its too much cold for me :-/

  • Grammar and spelling police. Wee hoo wee hoo haha haha

  • please, tell me where I'm wrong, to fix it...

  • Was kiddin', I've seen worse. I've seen a lot worse. =]

  • @ConservRepubForLife Ok, can somebody help me to correct grammar and spelling?

  • @ConservRepubForLife Not everyone's first language is English; go get a life at your grammar & spelling police station!

Lovely music by both of you, thank you :)

  • Nice performance.. For a sec you and ur gf look like were mad at each other during the performance with a serious face look when performing xD. I was getting some instruments ideas is how I run into your guys video to make mine sound Gothic version on Wii music of Scarborough fair.. ha...

  • I was just starting on tin whistle, so i was missing the notes a lot...i am a lot perfeccionist, so we were recording the whole afternoon...we were not mad...we were tired...hahahaha...thanks for your post...

  • Amazing! I love the song in cello and tin whistle... I'm still learning how to play it on my guitar..hahaha... How long did it take ya'll to practice this song together? It's really amazing..

  • We were playing this the whole afternoon...

    Thansk for your comment

  • I love the sound of the tin whistle. is it diffuclt to play? I currently am learning the french horn and i play the snare drums. will it be all too hard considering mycurrent musical experience?

  • The Tin Whistle is the easyer musical instrument I ever learned...Go for it...

  • Scarborough Fair is actually one of the oldest songs ever written. You and your girlfriend have a beautiful rendition of an age old classic and beautiful song.

  • Thank you so much...I liked this song the moment I hearded it...

  • i just got a D irish tin whistle!

  • Welcome to the club, man! hahahaha

  • Great job.

  • One whistle is a D and what is the other whistle, an A???

  • no, a C

  • It is acctually a D and a Bb whistle

  • One is a D whistle, the other is a Bb whistle, my arrengement is based on a 6minor modulation...is a little more difficult to get an A whistle...

  • oh! i never knew they made Bb whistles... good job!

  • This was the first song I learned to play on my Irish tin whistle. You do this version AMAZINGLY! Kudos. Much love from OHIO!

  • Thanks from Brazil...mine first was "Lamb of God"

  • so nice!

I love this song so much!

  • Thanks...me too...hahaha

  • lovely

  • thnx

  • sehr gut

  • What? Thanks, I guess...

  • It means "very good" in German. xD Which I agree with.

  • Ahh, ok! hahaha...Obrigado (that's "thank you" in brazillian portuguese)...

  • :O niiiiiice!

  • Thanks....

  • love this song, nice playing

  • Thank you...and thank you for subscribing...

  • That advice about using the second pads of the fingers. Ignore it. By all means roll the fingers from the holes to create a slurring effect. It's nice on tunes like this.

  • I have a video playing whistle using the second pads of fingers, try to watch me playing "Mandy" from Barry Manilow...

  • Awesome job I wish I could play music with a girlfriend but every time I have one they either don't play or hate playing.

  • It's nice to have something in common...If not the music, something else...Hahaha

  • sounds good! :)

A word of advice try playing the whistle with the second pads of your fingers, and rolling the finger on or off to create bends and tremelo, like you're playing the uilleann pipes.

But yes, very nice either way!

  • Ok...great advice..I'll try...

    Thanks for your comment...

  • That is bloody tops mate, you two are a beaut pair for this.

  • Perfeito.

Amanhã estarei encomendando uma Tin Whistle Feadóg D.

Q inveja. Vc tem uma namorada q toca violoncelo. A minha mal toca apito. hehehehe

    Abraço!

    Obrigado pelas dicas.

  • Wait... Are you from Brazil? =P

    Me too...

Me responde em português, se preferir.

    Abraço! =)

  • Putz...

    hahahahahahah...

  • Hello...

I like alot tin whistle, and I wanna buy one.

What's the diference between the the red and the green one???

(I'm a violin player, I don't understand nothing about flutes).

I found two types to buy( In my city):

    Tin Whistle Feadóg Brass C

    and

    Tin Whistle Feadóg Brass D.

Ok, one is in C and other in D.

But, in your case, what's flute do you have?

  • Hi, really, the tin whistle is a wonderful instrument, it is very pleasen, since the first day you play it...Basically, there are 4 principal kinds of material: brass, nickel, plastic and alumimniun...The major key in irish music is D, so, if you want to buy one, buy in D...I prefer the brass tin whistle...I have about 25 whistles...The color of the fipple is not important...the material, and key is the important choice...Feadóg is a nice whistle...If you have another question, glad to answer..

  • I have just one question.

I like (more) the sound of the green flute.

What's the diference between the green and the red?

  • It pretty much looks like he is playing a Walton's D (the green one) and a Generation Bb (red one).

You should consider some internetshops or even ebay for buying whistles. There often are good offers and you got a wider range of choice.

    good luck

  • beautiful ¡¡¡

  • THANX

  • Very nice! I love this song so much =o) Your whistleplaying and your girlfriends celloplaying are blending together very nice. Please more!

  • Hey! Thank you for the very complement...

We feel a lot greatfull for people to see and recognize that this commitment of us is seen by other people too...

    Thanx for watching and posting...

  • very nice! what key in the red flipple whistle in?

  • The red fipple (generation) is in Bb...I just love that whistle...It sounds very nice...

Thanks for the complement and for whatching...

  • i bought one recently! love the sound, but do you find that the brass coating flakes off? cos mine has unsightly dull patches especially where my thumbs are when i play it.

  • I just love when a whistle become that way...It's normal to this happen...If you don't like, try to buy a whistle in nickel, plastic or alumimnium...I like because the whistle seems to be an ancient instrument (I don't know if this is the right expression, sorry for my english)...In beggining it's ugly, but when this happens in the whole whistle, I think it became beautiful...What do you think?

  • haha i think i know what you mean, the authentic rustic antique feel, right now mine's just a little flaked off here and there, maybe in time it'll look better

  • Ok, "authentic rustic antique feel"...is that what I mean...sorry my bad english...hahaha...

And you`re right, in time it will look better...I have 9 brass whistles...but I have 3 favorites...One is completely flaked off, 1 is on the way, and the third is only "changing colors"...haha

  • do you have any nickel plated whistles? do they sound any different from brass ones?

  • Yes, I have some whistles in nickel...The sound is smoother, and don't have a lot of chiff, but I like more the brass one...The plastic is a good choice...But the flakes it is normal...The sound you like in a whistle is the most important thing...

  • Very nice played. I like to hear cello. The best I think is the smiling of the girl at the end. Please continue playing...

  • Thanx...Soon I will post another video with cello...

    Thanx for whatching and commenting...

  • excellent , very well played both of you, this was a joy to listen to :) ****

  • Thanks...

    Glad to make you happy...

    hhhehehehhe...

    Thanks for watching...

  • hey this is amazing! I just got my first penny whistle ever and im so excited to learn this...it was actually the reason I went and bought it haha. What key are you playing with? I have a C whistle..will I be able to play it with mine?

  • Yes, if you learn to play a tune in the penny whistle, you will play the same way in any key...If you have a whistle in C, you can watch my fingers, and learn to play this song...Thanks for watching my videos...
