  • DOES ANYONE KNOWS THE NAME OF THE SONG??? PLEASE

    Great work!

  • oh shit! thumbs up

  • GET:;THE''NINTENDO..3DS;:FREE.:

  • in a short sentence: autodesk is omnipresent! ^^

  • i want to start creating aniation which one shall i choose for 2d(blender? and for 3d maya or 3ds max?

  • @kinggentil oyee amiguito todo esto se puede aser con autodexk y affter efec???

  • @imagine7xy Yeah I can't find ANY courses at my university in the subject except for a single class called "art in motion". Only one professor knows this area well. And it seems that taking tutorials online has only gotten me so far (I have a few very basic non-rigged human shapes).

I have an engineering job working on CAD as an intern... do you think that video game companies would count that as good experience?

  • Comment removed

  • I was seriously considering being an artist (either character artist, animator, or 3D person)

But I heard it's a VERY hard job to get.

Can anyone who is one tell me about it? Haha

  • @6dark6alex6 Im actually doing the same as you are, you are right it is hard to get a job, that best way to get into this sort of industry is to either go to University and Study the course, or goto Film school. Most companys just expect you to send in a Reel of all the work you have done, so its not allways what you know, its who you know that helps!

  • This shit is way more than 3dsmax, theres a load of after effects in there too

  • @1337shellc0der Let's not forget that After Effects is a program by Adobe. Autodesk has it's own Combustion package for video post-production.

  • @QUATR00 cool story bro

  • 3:07 Lol.

  • The best software Autodesk owns is Softimage. It is so far beyond Maya. Formerly known as XSI, it has Mental Ray totally integrated and now has ICE which is like having Houdini included. Softimage also has integrated particles. I have run into many people who "hate" Mental Ray because it is so poorly integrated in Maya.

Yet Autodesk does not even list it on their home page. WTF, Autodesk?

  • @jwsaul softimage is the best animator not the best and a lot of it is preference. A huge disadvantage to softimage is its only windows and nearly impossible to find tutorials. Maya is the film standard and max is the game standard making their bound to be a lot of tutorials. if you can use all three along with houdini then you will get the best result.

  • @Monkeybombs13 I have Maya on an 8 core Mac. It works much better on a PC.

I took two semesters of Maya. Compared to Softimage it sucks, really. I have a little experience with 3D software--I have even written a basic package--I started using Vertigo on SGI in 1989.

This is not a flame, it is a professional review.

Maya's architecture was written in the 1980s. Softimage is by far the most advanced and extensible 3D software. What Autodesk plans to do is a mystery.

  • @jwsaul if softimage did everything better than any other software it would be used by everyone. all the other packages wouldn't be shown on autodesks website meaning that for autodesks main clients max and maya are what they want and need im not saying that softimage isn't better in some ways it is infinitely better but it doesn't do everything better. its not like softimage is so amazing their is no reason to consider another 3d package.

  • @Monkeybombs13 In a perfect world you would be right and Beta-max would have been the video tape standard instead of VHS, Intergraph would still be the best workstation manufacturer and all browsers would read code the same way.

XSI was written to be agile, easily extended--anyone who writes code knows how important that is. That is why and how Face Robot and ICE (a Houdini like procedural particles system) and Mental Ray were all integrated into Softimage.

    Architecture is everything.

  • @jwsaul ICE is coming for Maya with the subscription advantage pack for Maya 2011 :D Waiting for Maya 2012...

  • how is this even possible i wanna know how to do this stuff with my 3ds program... :(

  • @zfromm88 it takes alots of time, and people. making something like those alone will take months.

  • what is the difference between maya and 3Ds max?

  • @leandro1995 3Ds max is meant for 3D modeling (making game characters etc), while maya is meant for making CGI movies (Avatar for example). Obviously both are powerful and similar results can be achieved by both of them.

  • what etc. mean?

  • @azhad1998 excetra

  • did anyone else just pee a little?

  • @idgmo no

  • @joealtair3000 oh.. im gonna get that checked out..

  • @idgmo lol

  • HOE i mean HOW

  • Star wars episode 3 used 3d max

  • If only I could afford it. :(

  • xd 1:21 haha the cow

  • Is it Maya Autodesk suitable for video editing or just for 3D effects? I'd like to know, since most people say that use vegas and afterwards Maya. >Thank you

  • Wtf!!.... This program is zoow friendly! <3

  • How on earth is that posible? I find that program so hard to use!

  • Pronto obtendre el poder de tranformar la realidad y de crear mis propios mundos!!! :D

  • Thank you

  • freaken awesome

  • I know that Knights of the Old Republic was made with either maya or 3ds max (fairly sure its 3ds)

  • My search has come to an end.

  • nice

  • i love maya! i work all day long with as future animator 3D

  • So how does it actually work?

Do they record movies then edit them with Maya or 3ds max?

  • This is used to make south park

  • To Steely Dan, "Do it Again"

  • what are all the programs for doing all this?

  • go to autodesks webpage, they show all the products for movie makeing, and otherstuff!

they eaven got an drawing program =3

  • Omg this is totaly awsome now i know what people use to amke movies i already know that they also use 3Ds Max btw now i know they use Maya also XD!

  • Hey if im a boy on 15 and is interesting in this, and i interests in movies and games. What should i then choose? Maya or 3DS MAX. I dont really got any experience with 3d animation yet. please respond.

  • Games and movies are two completely different things. If you are pitching for career in 3d games I would suggest 3DS max and Maya if you are interested in movies. 3DS max is more like technical tool, good for industrial design while maya has more organic feel added to it. It's like max is technical pen and maya is like painter brush. Both are used for creating images but with the different approach. What ever you chose, be prepared for long hours in front of your monitor for at least 3 years.

  • @1StTubeYou My story is quite the same (I'm 14, and trying to be a game developer). For me max is much better for game modeling and animation, it's much easier and much more straightforward too. I believe it's cheaper and you have a student license of some kind which is quite cheap. (at least there used to be that one). Cheers!

  • apparently maya sounds convincing but i have 3DS MAX.

  • @1StTubeYou learn Maya, trust me, and if you want to create your own game one they you can use Unity. I never regretted of choosing Maya over max!

  • Which is better for films with like really people not animation.

  • @BlackhazeEditor Max can handle that with no problem. (I haven't tried it personally, but that's what everybody says)

  • Generally speaking - 3DS Max is mainly used for games and Maya is used for films

  • one word AWESOME! i really didn't expect this and at 1:06 it is a ad of aditya birla group

  • Woah, that was sick...

  • check out TBright500's Channel

  • torrent! :D

  • rendering time for starwars - no body really knows but it started a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...

  • @QuantumTechno That line has now been replaced with "Transformers".

  • @Milkshakman /avatar

  • @QuantumTechno It has too much of a rep to be compared to anything, lmfao. Star Wars, Titanic, Transformers, Avatar. Jesus.

  • @QuantumTechno a long time ago and they had laser weapons flying cars ? we dont have those yet they did in the PAST :D ( i know it was really to tell a story kind of movie but still :D

  • absolutely fantastic display of autodesk software capabilities, and pretty awesome too.

  • I didn't know LucasArts used Autodesk..

  • @JamAndToe So does Pixar

  • @JamAndToe i did not know Blizzard used Autodesk 0.o

  • @JamAndToe they use Maya primarily.

  • what was transformers made with?

  • I believe the studio used ILM, and ILM used 3DS Max, Maya and their inhouse software Zeno. They also used Pixologic Zbrush with RenderMan and Mental Ray.

  • They used Photoshop/Zbrush and 3DS max (or maya)... Photoshop to create "some" textures and if u look at how the rockets come out of the robots u can imagine they used 3DS max/ maya... ofc i do not know this is 100% accurate info... And they have been using LOTS of greenscreen methods so i'm almost sure they used 3DS max

  • great work

  • 1:00 looks like a map from call of duty 4

  • SHIPMENT!!!!!!!!!!

  • no wet works

  • sorry thats what i meant lol, I saw the crates and that came to my mind.

  • Is the first level of CoD4-Modern Warfare

  • yeah

  • Awesome

  • my bro gave me the disk, and it was the full version

  • i torrented 3ds max, it did not cost a cent, but on the other hand it's kinda hard to use well not kinda, it's hard for people who never learn this in some kind of hot shot design school.

  • lol dont hate on us....this is our passion and its worthpayin the money and going to skool for.

  • what if you don't have money and wan't to learn, that means you have no hope in being able to do what you like.

.and I was not hate'in you.

  • listen im payin 20g's for 1 year of skool.....

out of my own pocket with out my parents helping me...and no i didnt get financial aid...

if this is your dream and passion you wont let anything get in your way...

torrent the virsion if you have to and learn from tutorials how to use it...

the only real way to learn the program even if your going to school is playing with it.

    just let your imagination flow.

  • Agreed..I'm not knocking turrents, I use them as well, but I also think that when you have a company who puts out a product that is worth paying for, then they need to be supported by the consumer.

  • get a job

  • your mom still a whore? ask her if i can heve her job.

  • Comment removed

  • then you use programs that are free like Oxygen 2. Or you could actually give college a shot. Its never to late to go back to school, I'm 33 and just enrolled in DeVry. They provide programs like this depending on your coarse.

  • maya and 3ds max are 3.495$ each lol i wish it was 300$ i think brox had a typeo there.. but ya u can just download both full program with cracks off of a Torrent site :)

  • Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    q buen video!

    hermoso!

    BESOS ^^

  • thats pretty sick

  • i just downloaded this prgram for free but i dont know how the hell it works lol. but im gonna find out

  • its kinda complicated but fun. if you plan on becoming a designer, get the full, $300 one. its expensive, but so worth it.

  • Is it the demo or the pirated version? j/k. Yeah I agree with brox. I'm sure some cost more then $300. If you find very it confusing do the tutorials and they should help ALOT for people starting off.

  • try about 4 G's for good full version.

  • Yeah. Maya cost like $5.2K.

  • so from what i see, this way outplays even adobe after effects?

  • wow cool

i've just started using maya and 3d max

i have long way to go

  • Don't worry, you're not alone...I have both programs, and I am trying to learn them both myself.

  • I don't get it?

What is the difference between Maya and 3D max?

    I really don't understand it.

  • Maya cost $2000 thats the diff lol

  • only this?, I also would like to know...

  • maya is way better, and it costs 5000 not 2000.......

  • $2000? Thats all?, I heard it was $10,000!!!!!

  • dude either way its crazy money for a pc program

  • not really , I mean if you wanna bullshit on it, yeah, but if you wanted to make an independent film its a great deal.

  • maya is 5000

  • Thats STILL a good deal if you are making independent films. What a great program!

  • hey all...forgot that u can download then crack it??? FOR FREE!!

  • Maya is more for movie production and 3dsmax for video game..

Also.. 3dsmax is more complicated than Maya but so much better (that's my opinion)

  • Maya is way more complicated to learn than 3ds max especially with the MEL scripting. Used both programs and Maya is definitely better (*well at the end of the day it doesn't matter what 3d app you use, it's about how you use it*), harder to learn, but it pays off and has lots of features which make whatever project your working on much easier. The hotbox is a great tool as well. 3ds max is a great program but is especially good for those new to 3d applications and is quite easy to pick up on.

  • COOL!

  • Which is better for like a game, make characters, and animation?

  • The one you can use better.

  • yeah I think so

  • someone please reply/pm. which is better to use. maya or max for making character models and animating theme? i made a story and have drawn them out, but now i want to bring them to life. thank you.

  • 3D Studio Max is a much more complete app. straight out of the box in terms of modelling and 'beginner' level character animation. Mayas modelling tools are far less intuitive and it has no native character animation system (Full Body IK is unusable).

  • I'd say it's just a matter of taste. For me I find modeling a lot faster in Maya compared to 3ds max. But on the other hand, I find texturing easier in 3dsmax.

In the same way I find Zbrush to be a more adequate program for details. It's a matter of taste - they can both do the same thing. Cheers!

  • i see.. the maya's interface friendier to the max's... and the maya cost much more money, so i think it can do more things...

  • whats better maya, or 3ds max or are they both the same or should i get both

  • Depend what are you needing it for?

  • its better maya its more profesional

  • it is?

  • yeees

  • It depends of what you want, personally I love Maya, easy to use and you can do anything you want in it, from basic modeling to a very advance movie.

  • i'd have to say im more of a max fan, the interface is easier to learn and you can still get very professional results (look at WoW).

  • They are both good...for example Assassin's Creed was made with 3ds max, and Call Of Duty 4 with maya...

  • sparks fx rep dat shit

    super sweet plug-in work

  • You know, guys, reliable torrents are a bit difficult to find these days. Be careful about the stuff you're downloading.

  • showreel includes our company :)

  • shit

  • lol I'm proud to be a 3D Max owner :-) And by the looks of this reel, I only seem to know 10% of this software... whoa I got a looong way to go

  • very cool, but in the Madonna video i cant see anything

  • Very cool showreel. A lot of these weren't actually done using 3ds max but instead showcase Autodesk's compositing & finishing line like Flint, Flame, Inferno etc.

  • the only way to reuse 3ds max trial is to buy a new computer each time. they have some extremely advanced antifraud technology on that thing.

  • i have a 3d max crack...

  • you do realize thats a pretty stupid thing to say on the internet.....

  • nope

  • lol

  • HAI JONATHAN

  • HAI

  • Why is that stupid? I have one too, and for maya, xsi 7, zbrush and photoshop

  • You dumb ass! You don't need new PC. There are cracks and if you cant find any you always can format drive C: and instal new windows with the 3dmax and use it :D so its up to you.

  • hmm cool, you can get a 30 day trial, and doesn't requrie a cred card ahead of time. so im sure there's a way you can use the trial over and over again (may get less features but still comes with very usefull 3d editing/moduling etc. included) -using it myself to create skins/modules/spec effects for Fthrone (custom) game.

  • i myself have used the 30 day trial, and now have the actual software. the trial is actually just the regular software, only they don't give you an activation code, so it shuts down after 30 days. it's worth twice as much as it costs by the way.

  • It's soo expensive though, I can't afford it, so I'll prolly just get a cracked version from piratesbay...

  • first of all, autodesk will sue you for that if u use it for anything public, secondly, i didn't buy it, I have an educational version (i aint aloud to make cash off it)

  • Where did you get the 30-day trial? I can only find the PLE...

  • nvm I was about to flame my own knowledge here but 30 day trial sounds good hehehehe

  • arrrrgghhh! to the pirates bay! got torrents?

  • I do indeed.

  • kooool!!!!!!1 its expensive though...

  • Beautiful videos, yet a very expensive penny : (

  • That was amazing video... Awesome! 5*

  • some of those shots have no 3D in them at all. but the 3D parts are good.

  • maybe the 3d is so realistic that it appears not to be 3d. i'm bored.. just trying to be philosophical, but i think i'm somewhat failing.

  • They all used Autodesk products in some way. It could be for compositing, special effects, background stuff, etc. not just very obvious 3D characters.

  • it's amazing.

  • THIS IS END REALITY.............

  • kool

  • Awesome!

  • the best ever!

  • best reel ever seen

  • I installed autodesk MAYA software but i doesn't work. It send me an error message like this:

Could not open the indoor point (SetDllDirectoryA) could not find in KERNEL32.dll. What's wrong?

  • Nice effects in the video!

  • the error says whats wrong.... It could not open the indoor point (SetDllDirectoryA) in KERNEL32.dll

Maybe check your version of windows..
