I know this was posted back in 09 but have a question...Were you flying this Demo with the advanced Swash plate adjusted? curious because this thing looks like it was moving quickly...Nice Vid thx for sharing.
@robbie2737 I did change anything. this is straight out of the box. When I had the bobbie shop I would fly the new stuff to see how they handle. I was very pleased with this heli. I still fly the same heli. Durable.
@MaximOrlov, I beg to differ, having aluminium parts on micro helis is not the best for flying. Remember when you crash throttle down, eliminates some damage.
@MaximOrlov I found that coating the INSIDE of the canopy with a thin coat of (locktite brand) "Plastic"Apoxy will save you from cracking canopy's & also coat the crap outta the landing skid also..It will dry to a Rock Solid clean/clear finish..This 5 dollar fix to the Msr's poor quality (Canopy & landing skid) will save you money on those parts....Also don't even think about any added weight.....almost nothing..it won't affect the heli at all. good Luck
I fly fixed wing and this my first ever helli. Skipped the coaxials and went right in at the deep end. This little machine is a feat of micro engineering, the speed and control of the thing is outstanding and took me by suprise. Like a few other posts have said - yes it is very durable but screws must be kept tight and checked often. First bit to break for me was the blade clamps and then the tiny wires get ripped off the tail motor unless you fit a small piece of heatshrink tubing over them. UK
I wish I´d skipped coaxials too, would´ve saved me some money. The mSR is pretty stable at low speedsand a great choice even for beginners. A friend of mine flew my mSR just yesterday (his first flight ever with a heli) and did pretty well.
but be carefull and check the screws and stuff are firmly in place after each crash as if they slacken and you crash again it will break parts
i will recoment putting some locktight or a dob od super glue on the tips of each screw just to stop the screws comming slack but leave the blade screws alone as these need to be quite slack anyways a really fun heli but keep an eye on stuff like listed above and you will keep having fun for many moons to come
Thanks for the heads-up, we have had some customers come into the shop indicating exactly what you just said, and dab of lock tight will do the trick. All in all, these little helis are fun and durable. Thanks for your comment.
yeah unfortuantly thats the thing with the first gen releases as they fix the problems later hehe and the first costomers seem to be the test pilots haha, but yeah its a tough helli apart from the weak spots found sofar, i imagine eflite will improve these areas in future production :D
Great Heli, Just got mine today. Ordered it last Thursday and was on my front porch delivery today. already had to reinforce the anti rotation collar after a couple crashes.
i just got mine here in the uk after waiting a long time athough i had to return mine as it had a faulty tail motor, my replacment one rocks,
even though its durable its not invincable and after a few crashes things do start to show wear so its advised to beef up the weak parts with some light weight glue like super glue, expecialy on the head assembly and the non moving parts and give a few blobs on the plastic back of the tail motor as this will pop out if the tail strikes hard
Damn you California guys! Getting this stuff as soon as the ship from China comes into the dock. Here on the Right Coast, all we can do is sit and wait, watch the vids 'n drool.

They make these helis of plastic purposely to make you go broke buying spare parts.

heatschrink is a bad idea for the tail since the tail motor will heat up and work worse. Scotch tape or nothing is much better!!

Antoria; You are daring to skip the coaxial, but what the heck, so did I. Smart move using the heatshrink. thanks for your post.

A lot of fun is correct, if you notice I deliberately rammed Scott the camera man, no that was fun.
