As a female bull rider myself, its a tough world out there but dang its freaking great. To have so much power in your hand, dig the spurs in and nod ya head.......nothing can compete with that.
wow u people are weird but hannahfan id try local practice pens if u can find um and bull riding skools, btw bull riding falls dont hurt nearly as bad as one would think, let alone i ride a 12.2hh welsh pony mare that i trained to buck on command for bull practice lol so yea she weighs about 550
@hydrolito Yeah well guess what when you are riding a little pony you dont have a helmet with a face mask, chaps, mouthgaurd, and vest all you might have is a helmet when riding a pony. So I actually recommend it
@hannahfan9871 Do you understand a pony can be over 500 lbs.? On Bonanza tv Show Joe rode on a palimino pony, Hoss rode on a horse okay. I didn't wear a helmet at the time.Years later I got hurt riding a bicycle on public street when front tires of my bicycle went between opening in drain & i flipped over head first and I landed on my head. After that I bought a bike helmet. They should have cross bars on drains in public streets to keep people from getting hurt or killed when riding on bikes.
@hannahfan9871 You should search online for bars and amateur rodeos that have live bull riding. It's hard, but amazingly fun and addicting. Getting started as a girl is hard, but just keep at it and don't listen to people who tell you you can't. Remember not to just sit down, but put your weight on you thighs and squeeze with your knees leaning forward, and do not lose your head! Also, try a mechanical bull first so you know what you're getting into. You will fall, hard, and get hurt.
im going to start bull riding this fall after softball is over and i really look up to u. im 17. do you have any advice you could give me. id really appreciate it.
@nogle15 I got thrown off ponies before it really hurts, they can also run you into fences, etc. one brushed me off against a tree, bulls grow much bigger I wouldn't recommend it.
As a North East Texas girl, I grew up around rodeo's and I have always loved watching the bull riders. It is something that I had always wanted to do but, I was told "Girls don't do that sort of thing." At 33yrs old, I am a little too old to hop up on the back of a bull but, I am glad to see that there a few female riders out there. I wish you the best of luck in the sport. You are inspiring!
