@foreverGraceby there are extremely many things which i can do for free, man, fyi. ok, i'd never download and actually use LMMS, my present software was expensive enough, let alone the plugins. but you kinda misunderstand the job market: downloading free alternatives to commercial programs does not take jobs, the very opposite is the case. this fuels rivalry, thus commercial releases tend to get bigger, easier, better. enjoy your paid software, let other enjoy their open sofware, it's that easy.

Actually LMMS is a nice program if you know how to use it. The stock sounds in LMMS may not be that great. But you can add good quality vst and soundfonts to lmms. It can create any sound you want, i have been using it for a while. It's the best free music program out so far.

although it is a free alternative and good for people who've just started production and are testing the waters, when you get properly into production it's better to then move on to FL studio, it's just a hell of a lot better

@wild939 This is an open source software ...For a free program it's really good so let's be honest I dont think anyone would create a very powerfull software to realease it for free.. Can't compare it with Fl Studio wich does not have a free license and developers worked hard to improve that program cus they know it will get them some money. It's not as great as FL studio but it's awsome especialy for begginers

the easiest possible way to get this is to just download the latest OS ubuntu and just go to applications/ ubuntu software center/ and type in lmms and then hit download and done.

Wow, lots of LMMS hate here. I have played around with FL Studio and let me tell you guys that with MY skills, I make FL Studio sound like the worst software ever ;)

For you people who so passionately feel that LMMS is nothing like FL Studio 8, kudos. Just take note that for many people, LMMS is the best, almost like FL-Studio, software out there. Making music should not only be reserved by the folks who can afford expensive software. If you have talent, it doesnt matter what tools you use.

lmms is a digital audio workstation used to create and record music. alot of garage bands use it to record demos and what not, prolly because its free and fairly easy to use. if you get good enough at it then you can make some money
