YES fran4n reaper has a virtual keyboard that lets you use the qwerty typing keyboard on your pc, mac or laptop as a midi device, a midi device would be better but if your on a budget if you are creative you can create a track with JUST reaper, a pc mac or laptop, some wav 1 shot samples (optional but your best option for free good sounding drums, SERCH GOOGEL) and some decent vst effects and instruments (agen serch googel kuz there are a few good free 1s)
I use reasons i used cubase i've used digital performer i have used pro tools please some one tell me how to cut and past a freaking midi track in reaper i know how to split parts how do i repeat a simple loop with out it transforming into a new type of mutation???????????????
u proly already figured this out but its difficult as hell to do otherwise take a sample or audio file (from wherever you keep your samples) and drag it to the interface if that's not what you are talking about well at least it helped i hope
The way you can right click on a track - select "record output" and have the vst midi instrument instantly rendered to audio - on the midi track - is PHENOMENAL!!!! Even in Reaper I was using a "print midi" track for this, not realizing I could render to audio on the fly. Nice Reaper peeps. Jesus may have a place for you in his Kingdom - well...provided you listen carefully to everything he says and do it. Ha ha. Because can you imagine waking up one day, "Wha? I'm in Hell????"
Plaese somebody tell me, I'm trying to line up one track with another in the correct place but reaper only lets you drag a track to specific 0.5 second bars. Any way round this
I just downloaded Reaper but I don't know zilch about it. I want to make some jam tracks. I want to take out the lead guitar and leave everything else so I can play along with the band. For instance, take Walk Don't Run 64, how do I take out the lead guitar part?
The only way you could do that so it would sound good is to get your hands on the original recording from when it was recorded. There are other ways but to me there not that great, i belive it matters if the song is panned and you have to cut out frequencies but if you was to take out the frequencies that the guitar is in, it will have a big effect on the whole song. so in my oppinion, have a go but i doubt it would bring good results, or another way, is to cover it and record each instrument
