Hearing The Mustang...Its My Real Love! I Was Thinking that the Jaguar was the only i need...but the Mustang is Cheaper and With More Bright Tone...well i think XD
I have always thought Mustangs sounded a little thin & weak when played clean or even lightly-overdriven. The Mustang was geared towards students on a budget while the Jaguar was a very expensive guitar that was designed for Surf Rock.
@altroval it wasent designed for Surf Rock... the ppl wanted brighter pickups... i think the Mustang playes distortion way better.. For my kind of taste..
i find jaguars action to be too high and the neck to be too wide and hard to play, thats why i bought a mustang instead. but the jaguars do sound awesome.
I'm digging the jag a lot more. Has a fuller one I think. I'm a little bit biased though as my dad has had a '63 Jag since I was little and I love hearing him play surf and rockabilly on it.
@wipers86 I have a 1994 69 reissue I bought from a Japan dealer in Japan with the painted head stock made for the Japanese public not export and I completely luv mine! Shes in my lots down further here. Dont know about the 65 as I have never played one. Not a fan of American made guitars other then Gibson.
@Reki34 my mustang was made in japan also you cant by new mustangs in america anymore I would have to spend a shit load to by an original american version
Jaguar definitely. It has to be a Japanese model though. I have mine in a candy apple red w/matching headstock, mastery bridge, pearloid pikcguard, and seymour duncan quarter pounders. It's my main guitar.
@IDanClarkI you can get single coil sized humbuckers that would do the trick. instead of the magnets being side by side they are stacked ontop of eachother for the same effect go to your local music store about them and they should also be able to install them
@Reki34 the pickups in the 65 reissue mustang are the worst pickups I have ever heard on a guitar I have a mustang so I know that the jaguar is the best option unless your up for customizing a fender mustang witch I was before I bought it if not then the jaguar
@wipers86 was going to add a link to my studio but can be posting site on here I guess. No matters, if wanted you can goto guitarlesson dot and see my link in members show off area under my studio..
Kurtz jag had super distortion not mustang. The mustang had a jb. Without mods the mustang is known for suckkkking. But it's so comfy. If you get the right mods it is sick. Jag is heavier though, fuller tone, hh of course.
@DarkAngelEU I am too. Love my Jag. I own many guitars, but the Jag is my favorite. Takes a while to upgrade the whole thing, but damn, is it worth it in the end. Killer sound.
@cobascis hey what was the first song you played? like the intro song 0:00-0:31
and another question. how do you like the jaguar? because its a fender jaguar special right? how are the string bends on it? do the strings stay in the saddles? is there enough grip on the e string? thanks
@MrMuddyBleach really? how come i can find fender jaguars atleast 100 - 200 pounds cheaper than a '65 mustang reissue? or am i just looking in the wrong places to buy one..
@MrGhost321 Yea true, but the Jaguar HH is a little different because of the humbuckers instead of single coils, which doesn't really make it a true Jag.
I guess it doesn't matter since the humbuckers on them are still pretty chimey, but I wish they offered it in different colors other than jet black and shiny. I'd like to have more choices than just Batmobile. And I guess the other good thing about the HH is you can get it in baritone, which was pretty good.
@MrMuddyBleach you can get Jag HH with humbuckers in sunburst (instead of the chrome plated humbuckers), and kurt cobain used humbuckers in jags and mustangs.
@MrMuddyBleach the jaguar classic player HH is a really good jaguar, and it comes in sunburst, kurt cobain used a jaguar with humbuckers, also the humbuckers sound better when playing with a dirty sound
@Sefsama Get the Classic player Jaguar HH not the blacktop, all the classic player HH is is a jaguar modded with humbuckers and im not sure but maybe a few different switches
I mean the country of manufacturer. There's Fender American (most expensive), Fender Japan (mid cost at almost the same quality) and Fender Mexico (at low cost). So there is a difference.
i think the mustang sounds better! :)

for me, the jaguar bridge pickup is just way too bright even with the tone down, especially with new strings
so I wanna put a humbucker in it, but got told not too.
what the hell do I do?!?!
