  • I have an orange tabby who reminds a little bit of Oliver He's grown up now but back when he was a kitten he looked like Oliver

  • Puppppy

  • IT'S BECAUSE HE'S GINGER, ISN'T IT?! :'( :'(

  • IF THERE WERE ONLY TWO KITTENS LEFT, I WOULD TAKE BOTH OF THEM </3 )':

  • i miss my oliver even more now (my orange cat oliver died 4 years ago =( )

  • The saddest part of this entire clip was seeing the Twin Towers in the beginning....

  • @TheJBKStudios1 I didn't even see that until you pointed it out.

  • This part of the movie made me cry my eyes out. Still does and I'm 19

  • @SayAnythingGirly i know how you feel :( and I'm turning 20.

  • Oh God this is so sad... :(

  • i freaking loved this movie as a kid. you should show this to kids nowadays, i mean the visuals are gorgeous, the music catchy and well-put together, and the characters are definitely memorable.

  • omg this movie brings back memories even tho, im 16 about to turn 17 this was one of my fav disney movies which i still hav the vhs of this movie. xD but i found a kitten just like oliver personality and all, but my mom wouldnt let me get it cause my dad disliked cats which i think he didnt like them because him and cats were too alike xD

  • I remember how much this scene made me cry my eyes out when I was younger...but I'm still really touched by it...

  • haven't seen this movie in years q.q

  • so sad @:16 with the twin towers in the back :'(

  • Favorite movie of all time. :)

  • Nobody wants the ginger

  • @AbsenceMotiver the first cat that was taken was also orange.

  • Why does this song make me bawl my eyes out? :(

  • @delloliod Nostalgia?

  • this song makes me cry. but it is so good!

  • awwwww :'(

  • aww hes so blissfully unaware :(

  • Oliver did not buy, he was alone, he was out in the rain alone in town, poor Oliver, he was the cutest kitten of all !!!!! :'(

  • Poor oliver :(

  • This makes me cry all the time:'(

  • i cnt watch this without crying. i love kittens and cats to bits and would defo have taken him home no matter what

  • 0:10, 0:18- Something's missing now; but before the 9-11 fall....

  • Not gonna lie, I probably just would have picked up the whole box and taken them all. The beginning of this movie just breaks my heart! :'(

  • This song always makes me cry.

  • Awwww this made me cry D; I'm pretty sure I watched this movie as a little kid I sort of remember it but it's the first time I've cried watching this part I would love to see this movie again

  • lol it says the kittens cost 5 dollars who r they even supposed to be paying

  • I think that when you are going to adopt an animal, you should meet them all first and not just pick the one that seems the cutest

  • this is one of my fav movies x

  • the beginning of this movie makes me cry everytime

  • Oliver is the cutest one!

  • @gingerisevil02 I know! Why wouldn't anybody want a cat as cute and sweet as him!?

  • This always makes me tear up... I would've taken you and snuggled you like there was no tomorrow D;

  • @spiritwolf64 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL you're retarded gtfo

  • WTF ?!? BLUE KITTENS ?!?

  • i would always cry cuz he was left alone :( lol

  • this reminds me of my cat, oliver, who died of leukemia when he was five. this song makes me miss him even though i have a sweet tuxedo cat named mimi. he didn't deserve leukemia:(

  • Oliver is way cuter than those other kittens thumbs up if you agree.

  • I think I'll go cuddle my cat now.

  • I've always wanted a ginger cat.

  • Damn you Disney, you have a way of horribly depressing me. -sniffles- I woulda taken Oliver. How can people just leave a little kitty in a box. :(

  • I just realized the first kitten was blue...

  • i wish i had lived in NEW YORK CITY

    for one year at least

    would have being great

  • this makes me sad. Poor Oliver was ignored, and left alone to soak in the rain. What kind of sick person would forget about the last kitten and leave it alone to cold and miserable and alone.

  • @bombindahcity I'm glad I'm not the only one, this has made me miserble, lol

  • I never figured out how every kitten looks different. Most litters of cats I've seen have similar something among them...fur color, markings...these kittens all have....faces. That's about it I think. Regardless I love this song so much and I always felt so bad for Oliver has his box was being washed away! It used to make me cry as a child.

  • I always thought he was the cutest of the bunch though... he has the nicest colour and fur type.:/

  • WHAT SICK BASTARD JUST LEAVES A BOX OF HELPLESS KITTENS OUT UNATTENDED!

    ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN!

HE SHOULDVE RAN OUT THERE AND GRABBED THE CAT AS SOON AS HE EVEN SUSPECTED OVERCAST!

    THIS SONG PISSES ME OFF!

AND YET IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!

EVER SINCE I SAW THIS MOVIE IV ALWAYS CHECKED CARDBOARD BOXES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD

EVER SINCE I SAW THIS MOVIE IV ALWAYS CHACK CARDBOARD BOXES ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD

  • I'd pick Oliver out of all of them! He's the cutest.

  • i hate how their just all ignoring oliver:/

  • I always felt bad for oliver! i cry every single time :'( and when it rains and hes by himself and scared :'(

  • @bandgeek828 that's what strays have to deal with when they're not rescued.

  • a blue kitten???

  • Wtf, if I was in New York and saw this particular box of kittens, I'd take him. I'm almost 19 and this scene/song still makes me cry. :(

  • I never realised how sad this scene is.

  • Still makes me tear up after all these years

    xxx

  • Poor Oliver it's just so sad that nobody wanted him he's cute.

  • @spongebobSQ0126 Def. My newest adopted kitty was thrown out of a car and caught in the wheel well of a truck, so the ending of this video always gets to me. (She's ok and happy now. Lots of love, milk and treats). Little baby is sleeping soundly next to me as I type this :)

  • Poor little baby. Cute little orange kitty like him would have been my first pick! D:

  • Is this straight from the 1980's perchance?

  • @mehpisto281 LMAO No!! This is a 90's cartoon!! I remember when it came out when I was little cause my fat old orange cat is named Oliver because of him. Though......the 90's and 80's are easilly mixed up at times

  • Respond to this video... It was in theatres in the spring of 1988. I remember taking my girlfriend at the time to see it.

  • @erikdraven1731

    I was 2 in 1988, haha

  • @ShadowDancer00

Incorrect, this was released in November 1988, i was there when it came out as a kid for it is definitely an 80's movie, it wasn't shown again or released on video until 1996 and got a 96 spring re-issue

  • @Johnlindsey289 I often see your names in the comments sections of videos I watch. I remember you from when you uploaded the Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night movie several years ago (I commented on several of the videos).

  • D':

  • Awwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

  • When i was little, i always wanted to walk down the street and find a box full of free kittens

  • @eriberri425 free kittens are sadly easy to find...in my country (and im 100% sure in your country too) stray cats are everywhere...so sad

  • @eriberri425 these ones are actually $5.00

  • @eriberri425 Technically at that point it isn't full of free kittens; there's only one left.

  • @eriberri425 wow lol

  • This always made me cry. still does

  • i think oliver was the cuttest

  • oliver is the cutest kitten

  • I'm not gonna lie...i bawled my eyes out. Had to grab a tissue

  • i would choose Oliver over all of those other kittens :)

  • Oliver's first owner is so mean and bad, how in the world can anyone leave a kitty alone in a box forever?

  • who the fuck picks a neon blue cat but not an orange cat?

  • It's cos he's ginger isn't it? :(

  • @AllTimeJedLife

I love ginger kitties. I had one once, his name was Cinnamon. He attacked a husky that got on our porch. The dog ran for dear life lol

  • @AllTimeJedLife no its because there's people like you who make fun of them :(

  • @AllTimeJedLife well the cat at 1:02 was kinda ginger

  • @AllTimeJedLife LOL that made my day

  • This song makes me cry it's sooooo sad.

  • oliver is the first one i wouldve taken pour lil muka muka

  • Why didn't anyone take Oliver!? He's the cutest out of all of the kittens :P

  • Good grief! Did you see how the girl was running with the kitten at 1:28? I guess Oliver being last-picked was lucky! Is that the equivalent to shaking the bag with your pet fish? Geez...

  • little boy in a pink hoodie FTW

  • Even as a kid this song depressed me as well as the movie. It just puts spirit and happiness in you but it's also sad. Walt Disney is one smart mother fucker.

  • someone tell me where can i download this song free and the rescuers tomorrow is another day?

  • my fave disney film------randy newman sweet

  • @RocketTwurpSLR

    Incorrect, Huey Lewis

  • What ass hole just leaves kittens outside in a box?!

  • @chemistryhappy What asshole doesn't notice a kitten outside in a box in the rain?

  • for some reason, this was always my favorite song from the movie. i don't even know why, it just always moved me, even as akid.

  • I would have taken Oliver in a heartbeat

  • even when i was a toddler this made me sad

  • Can't believe how sad this is! I'm amazed I didnt cry as a child but I cry now!

  • poor oliver! :'(

  • i wud have took oliver

  • I'm really glad I'm not the only one who totally bawled when I saw this scene.

  • I don't even like cats but i still nearly cried when I watched this ten years ago. Those heartless people, leaving a kitten alone in a storm! I would have at least taken Oliver home and seen if I could find him a good family!

  • Oh my GOD. This used to be my favorite movie as a little girl...

  • Last week, I found a kitten hiding out on top of the right tire of my car. I felt so bad for the little guy, so I had to catch him. I couldn't keep him, I already have two cats. However, I did find him a home with my one friend. =] I gave him the name Oliver after this movie, especially where/how I found him. On a tire like he is at the end of this video =]

  • Poor Oliver I wish I could have taken u home

  • Awwww! I have always loved this movie ever since I was a little girl

  • Who would leave one kitten sitting there????? Take both or none. *sobs*

  • @26moonbeam1

You remember this movie? did you ever see this in theaters when you were a kid? i did i saw it 3 times when i was 7 in it's original release with the last one being after christmas. I also had the merchandise such as Mcdonalds stuff, Readalong book with cassette, junior novel, PJs, T-shirt, the soundtrack, stuffed Oliver from Sears, PVC toys etc. Did you too had any merchandise? did you too also wondered what happened to it when it never showed on video the next year or 7 years?

  • ...it's cuz he's a ginger, isn't it?

  • @WRMS1223 lol. Poor Ollie.

  • @TheAltair4

Huey Lewis is such an awesome singer, did you had this on CD or cassette back then as a kid? i had it on record vinyil when i was 7 for christmas and sometimes would make cassette recordings of it for my walkman on trips especially Vegas which i've been going since 89. I did replaced my cassette with the CD when this movie was re-issued, do you think Georgette is a funny character but a total bitch? get it?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I had this on cassette first and then got the CD later when it re-issued. Although Georgette was a spoiled prima donna she was still pretty funny. And, yes, she most certainly is a BITCH! lol

  • @TheAltair4

Does B-Ko from Project A-Ko remind you of a human version of Georgette?

  • @Johnlindsey289 lmao. Yeah, sort of i guess.

  • it's so sad

  • I never understood why no one took him. I would've picked him up in a heart beat! X(

  • 12 PEOPLE ARE BLOODY BASTARDS WHO DONT HAVE CHILD IN THEIR HEART

  • Nobody picked Oliver because he's ginger.

  • @Moosie011 lol :/

  • This always makes me tear up ;;

  • I have this movie on video a home and this patr I cept crying

  • @jugman2312

    Brown eyes, not blue

  • This movie is the whole reason why i love the name Oliver :)

  • I was only three years old when this cartoon was made, now I am 26 and I still love it so much!!!

  • Why no one took Oliver ?!

  • @Disneyfan82

You saw this back in 88 too at around my age? your too cool. Did you also had the same merchandise i had including the Mcdonalds stuff? and were you also upset the next year it never came to video? i did saw it 3 times in theaters and had the merchandise especially the soundtrack. I wondered how come it never came to video the next year or for 7 years, i did saw the re-issue at age 14 and also bought it on video after waiting. I did replaced my tape with 2002's DVD, fun movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289

Yeah I sure did. Plus I still have the Oliver and Dodger toys that use to play Christmas songs. And I still remember that they were from McDonalds, now I use them as ornaments. I too never understood why they didn't just release Oliver and Company on VHS like they should have instead of having to wait seven years for it to be rereleased. Before then I did see it 3 times in theatres. Right now I have it on DVD in my room with the other Disney classics.

  • @Disneyfan82

I was after your age when this came out in theatrers and also saw it 3 times during it's original release and i had besides those stuffed singing ornuments were those finger puppets from the happy meals, the soundtrack, t-shirt, PJs, readalong book with cassette, junior novel, stuffed Oliver, PVC toys, coloring books and that kindo f thing. Did you had those too? did you also see the re-issue in theaters at 14?

  • @Disneyfan82

That's awesome your an 80's/early 90's kid/mid-late 90's teenager like me. We both grew up in the best times to be a kid and teen, i was 5 when i saw Great Mouse Detective in theaters as well 4 times back in 86 and also had the same problem like O&C of never coming to video for 7 years and it finally did in 92 when i was 10 and had it on video for christmas. Did you also see O&C's re-issue at age 14 as well?

  • @Johnlindsey289

Yep, seeing all the garbage on televisiontoday makes me glad that I was born in the 80s. I agree it was one of the best times to be young. I do believe that I had seen the reissue of O&C at age 14 when I was still in my first year of junior high. All those years of waiting for it made me forget how I used to see and enjoy it.

  • @Disneyfan82

I know, disney Channel use to be awesome back in the 80's and 90's and now it's teen garbage central. I've been watching alot of shows and seeing movies in theaters/video back then as a kid and teen. Did you ever see The Great Mouse Detective (Both releases 86 and 92), Fox and The Hound 88 , Bambi 88 , Sleeping Beauty 86 , CInderella 87 reissue, Jungle Book 1984/90, Song of South, Aristocats, Little Mermaid, Roger Rabbit, Rescuers 1&2 and Ducktales The Movie in theaters as well?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah I don't know what people are thinking that anyone can learn from all that teen crap that I could care less about myself. And yes, I saw all those other classic movies in theatres besides Oliver and Company. Some of them might be underrated, but they are much better to deal with than all those teen crap shows. But there are still a few good animated shows to watch today, even if it might not be much. It's better than nothing. Too many to list at the moment.

  • @Disneyfan82

I forgot to mention, did you see Peter Pan 1989 re-issue, 101 Dalmations 1991 re-issue and Fantasia 1990 re-issue as well? i even saw the Black Cauldron in theaters at 3 which was one of my first movies besides Pinocchio, Muppets Take Manhattan and others. The early 90's was a great time to be a kid too isn't that right as well?

  • @Johnlindsey289

I sure did. I think I once saw the Black Cauldron in theatres before, but it has been so long at that time that I only remembered so little such as the three main characters escaping into the forest. I didn't see it again until it came out on VHS years and years later which I can't recall which year. But I do have the Anniversary Edition DVD in my room. I loved living in the 90s as well, missing those times. But at least the movies are still available, including O & C.

  • @Disneyfan82

BC came out on video in 98 and bought it the first day, disney's first attempt at adult animated fantasy much like Princess Mononoke or Rock and Rule. You remember Rock and Rule or Pound Puppies Legend of Big Paw? i sent you some retro trailers and TV spots to commercials to make you feel retro again. 88 was a good year for animation with stuff like Akira, Land Before Time, this movie, Grave of the Fireflies and Totoro to even LightYears (Gandahar).

  • @Johnlindsey289

Well even though the movie had flopped, I still thought BC was a good adaptation of Lloyd Alexander's novels. And yes I saw those clips you had sent me before and I have to admit that I do remember. The thing I like about O & C is that it is a great Disnified version of Oliver Twist using animal characters for the parts.

  • @Disneyfan82

Definitely, same goes for Great Mouse Detective being a disnified version of Sherlock Holmes or Hercules a disnified version of a myth. Do you think Georgette is funny? i think so, she's both funny and a total bitch, get the joke?

  • @Eguan0

Indeed and i grew up with Huey Lewis since i was 4. Say uh did you ever see this in 88 in theaters and had merchandise too?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Actually, I was born in the 90s so, go figure. BUT, I do enjoy the 80s a lot since my father relishes in speaking of it.

  • @Thaza

That was another great underrated one, i saw that in theaters when i was 4 years old when it came out 4 times and had a few merchandise and saw the re-issue in theaters in 92 when i was 10. Damn right about halfnaked girls like Miss Kitty Mouse the stripper, she was hot and i had a crush on her.

  • @dxseo

definitely! did you see this in theaters when it came out in 88 and had the merchandise including Mcdonalds stuff?

  • @Johnlindsey289 lol no i saw this during the 90s on vhs which is also old school

  • @mkj22

I saw this at the premier when i was 6/7 years old and saw it 3 times and had those including Mcdonalds stuff as well. Too bad it never came out on video the next year or for 7 years

  • @mkj22

Incorrect, it was 1988. Little Mermaid came in 89.

  • i lived their

  • I would have taken Oliver ;A; He's the only orginal one out of them all...

  • omg this is soooo beautiful!!! I love this movie and Im 16 but I still cry about these beautiful disney songs =/

  • I cry every time I hear this song D=

  • Fantastic song! i saw this movie back in november/december 1988 at age 7 about 3 times with my last one being after christmas day and i had some of the merchandise like the soundtrack, a readalong book with cassette, junior novel, PJs, T-shirt, Mcdonalds happy meal finger puppets, Singing ornuments, a jar with oliver and dodger, stuffed Oliver, PVC toys and that kind of thing. It never came to video next year or 7 years because i wanted it. saw the re-issue at 14 and bought it on video

  • i has kittiez fo sel nigga

  • Oh my God. I haven't seen this in years and it took seconds to break my heart. I'm a 30 year old man and cried like a 12 year old girl.

Damn you Oliver! You charming cartoon cat!

  • @TheMostDeadly

Indeed, so did you ever see this movie when it came out in theaters as a kid too and had the same shit like i did especially those Mcdonalds finger puppets?

  • @TheMostDeadly

You remember this movie? did you ever see this in theaters back in 1988 like i did as a kid and had the merchandise including the Mcdonalds stuff? did you ever wondered what happened to it when it didn't show up on video the next year or 7 years?

  • @TheMostDeadly eh!! thats so offencive u know im only a twelve year old girl and i didnt cry but that is so messed up >:(

  • @spiritWolf64 *offensive

  • @spiritWolf64 that's cuz you don't feel it.

  • @196LoveLess i feel it but u said u cryed like a 12 year old and thats really offencive to me because im 12 and i dont cry often so if u say u cryed alot thats really annoying to 12 year olds u should no better being 30

  • @spiritWolf64 Saying that he cried like a 12 year old isn't offensive..

  • @TheMostDeadly its just when he's on his own... you just want to pick him up and cuddle him!! :')

  • Poor Oliver :'(

  • @alaynataylor1

I tried that once.... only I ended up in A&E and had to get a tetanus shot because a crazy kitten bit me when I gave it food!!!!

  • poor pussy

  • @alaynataylor1 i rescued a kitten that came up to my grandma's house when i was little. at first, she didn't want him, but i kept going outside to see him (this was in december) and she wanted me to stay in. she finally told me to bring him in and he's been in her house ever since. his name is gabriel and he's 11. he's gray and white with a pink and black nose.

  • Lol, the ginger got left out
