O seriously you do know that you are allowed to go to redline when your racing a car right? that will leave the revs within the hp range when you downshift. Why do all acceleration videos have to short shift?

um... actually this motor is used over their previous 4.2 V8 because it lighter and the car is faster with the V6, the bonus is it gets great gas mileage.

I love it so much but for sure i would get a stick, I currently have and 02 s4 and am in love with it but its getting old and would love to have one of these but id wait about a year for a used one to save 10k. I love the DSG my sister has it in her a4 2.0t but she did have a problem with it which scared me away because it cost 4500 to fix luckily warranty covered it. Mechatronic unit (the brain of the tranny). So if i were gonna get an s4 for sure stick!!!

I got this car. I totally recomend it. Beautiful do drive! Got the MLT 160 horsepower version, and it's faster than you expect. And it has a wonderful and dark sound ;) Push it in S mode.. and the beast comes out :P

age has nothing to do with it douch. you should know a modified twin-turbo engine has more power and torque than a supercharged one. this car wouldnt hang off the line, or all the way to top end. drive one before you speak

FYI, it won't be on sale in US until this fall. But it's worth it. In my opinion, it's the best Audi ever made.

On a local track, I raced a Lexus IS-F and my best lap was faster by 1.83 second.

I know it won't be on sale until the fall but I'm considering ordering one now...Any chance you could put up a video of yourself using the paddle shifters to upshift and downshift? Also, when in the s tronic "manual mode," will the car redline or does it shift up automatically?

No, because I had it borrowed from my friend whose father owns an Audi dealership. They don't have it any more, but they should be getting a S5 soon.

The S5 is obsolete compared to S4. Audi is likely to upgrade it in near future tho.
