how do you tune your toms...i have remo pinstrips on the toms, and a remo power stroke on the snair and bass how should i tune them top loose, bottom loose or what?btw crappy set its a sound percussion set....so how do i get it to sound some what like this?
is this the kit you built yourself. ITs so nice. its sounds so good. its looks so tight. its the perfect size. I play with one rack but id rock this kit and never change it if i could.
That's incredible man. I can feel some r&b and some blues and maybe a hint of jazz in there. Great playing. You've impressed this metal drummer. You're incredibly comfortable with your playing and you make it seem like you're not even trying. Fantastic. Keep it up.
you have to realize that the way he has the drums recorded and mixed is making him sound alot better...not taking anything away from his playing, this guy definately has talent regardless
bro: i love my pearl omar hakim model. it is very responsive sonically and i really havent even started messing with different skins and snares. i do not really consider it a piccolo. that really doesn't describe it.
the sound of mic'd drums sounds so much tighter and makes it sound so much better. i do some of those beats and they sound alot different. great video.
Hey Scott I was wondering what you use for recording? Looks like a behringer board I see but I was wondering what kind of compressor limiter you use as well? holla back if you can! Thanx scott!
Is that an Audio Technica vocal mic you used for your Toms? I've never thought of doing that. If it is I might give that a try. I have some pretty cheap Audix f10's.
the first thing in the video baffles the hell out of me. The bass drum is so perfect that I can't actually tell what you're playing, I only know that its fast and sounds awesome. I've been trying to use doubles on the bass in fills, but trying to integrate it sucks. Any tips?
I have a couple of problems with my kit and i tohught id ask here due to how fast you play on your snare. my snare ( a mapex m series ) the mesh at the bottem keep slipping and i have to tighten it up every 5 - 10 minutes? any ideaS? cheers
Awesome!!!!! Your set up looks so comfortable. What size bass drum do you have?
I have probably seen you play. I use to play with Ben Wah and the Blue Balls and Meadowlark Jivin a long time ago. I think we opened up for you once. You are even better now. As for Opie Gone Bad...I don't know what happened but in my opinion it is their lose.

Awesome drumming man. I've been playing for a while now and I'm real fast but I've been trying to find new funky beats like you do. You should post up a video showing what exactly your doing on some of those beats because I can't figure it out.
double bass is fun...these guys are still REALLY good for how fast they could play just w/ a single....i still needa work on my stuff....just recently in guitar center in madison...there was there mad drummer....its pretty cool
Really nice stuff,i was just wondering if you had any tips on improving single bass speed? cos i used to rely on double bass but it started to get in the way of my developing, cheers

patton303 3 years ago

jacobdrummer123 3 years ago
Its a digital effect that limits the sound the mics picks up, so you can remove ring or overtones from a tom.

I used that Behringer console as a mic pre mixer. I then took that signal and routed it to my laptop and into Ableton Live6.
The comps and limiters I used were prolly Waves Mercury plugins. The C4 and the C1.
I really like the Sonnox Oxford plugins these days and can't wait to use them on my upcoming vids.

Guitarfool5931 3 years ago
Not sure...
I think it was an AKG C2000B.
The is actually two more condensers above me and in front but you can't see em'.
The close mics on this kit are also Audix f series mics.
I honestly can't hear any difference between the f10-f12 and the D1 and D2.
I almost think they're the same mic. ;7
Check out my other drumming vids to hear more Audix goodness.
