Its a collaboration between two artistic sides - east and west. It isnt just 'westernized'. I feel the tune, and even the style of music, is very EASTERNIZED, aside from the fact that its in english.

Lisa got her autumn leaves and streets in fall scenery, and Rin got their... um, sparkly things, swirls/patterns, and surrealistic edge.

It's a perfect balance, and if its what they set out for, they succeeded.

I like the song. Despite the westernization it comes to me as a creative mix, and Lisa's voice is nice, not great, but nice. The lyrics may be simple but it doesn't neccisarily need to be complicated, it's telling a simple story. I find I like the mixture.

What do you mean? This was a song made for the Japanese Animation "Seven Samurai" which is based on the classic black & white Samurai film of the same name. The plot is a princess of a terrorised village set out to find seven heroes to help protect her village from these bandit/raiders.

While I understand where you're coming from, I just want to suggest that while it may not be Rin' in its pure form, it's still accomplishing Rin's mission: to bring traditional Japanese music into a contemporary world. By combining with Lisa Loeb, not only do they create a unique sound, but they also help spread the beauty of Japanese music to countries outside Japan. Beyond that, they meld the styles quite nicely, crossing time periods, and really promoting a sense of unity.

I must admit, I rather like some of the songs on this album. But I like them as American songs, and it really burns me that they're soooo different from the stuff Rin' released in Japan. This is not the way to get Americans to start listening to Japanese artists.

It's a pain to try to find their other videos on YouTube due to the proliferation of videos featuring the InuYasha character Rin, but if you come across them give them a try!

Cant find RIN or ANTI HERO for(ahem)review on ares etc. I hope they finally "Get It" with this tune! I remember back when I used to ride a dinosaur that me and a bunch of kids were really into The Proclaimers, and were chilling to 500 Miles about 3 years before the rest of North America.
