@angels chasing popularity and actually getting popularity is 2 different things don't change the fact this was a great cd no matter what direction they went after that.MTV and radio decided metal of this nature was over and forced alot to try it.AKA Warrant tried to go grunge so did Motley Crue and alot of other hair metal bands.
@Croaks33 Yes I agree. But Babylon A.D fitts into the later category. They chased popularity. So you've already proved that you agree with what I've stated. There was a lot of exciting new bands coming through at this time. XYZ, Fifth Angel etc all playing this kind of metal. As far as Motley Crue was concerned, they'd already made it and decided to experiment. Don't forget Vince had left them during this periodand his solo material wasn't grunge, he kept it metal.
I liked this band when they came out. Half-decent debut album. But then they jumped ship and joined the grunge scene the traitor bastards. The grunge scene did us a favor in the end. It got rid of all the fake bastards like Babylon Ad who wimped out. Had these cunts stuck with their metal roots they'd have made it. Fuck them.
Underrated they were...but kick ass they did. This song is fuckin awesome. I used to jam this back in the day on my boombox at the beach while drinkin heavily.
Very underrated. They played balls to the wall. Werent good looking enuff with all frizzed out hair I guess. But shit I like those bands to. Nothing beats the 80s
There are a lot of hair metal bands that had great songs, but didnt get famous, I have a lot of their music, along with the ones who did get famous on my channal, and site: (W) (W) (W) . Nick98 . weebly . com Enjoy!
Where are these guys now? Man, these guys were caught up in that cookie-cutter hair band time of the 80's. They have REAL talent. If its possible, I think I have worn out the cd.
i've been trying to buy this CD on Ebay forever! and they sell for no less than about $25 give or take. i can't find it anywhere else!!!! i want this in my ride!
what i dont understand is how the fuck could anybody get sick of this music? MTV killed it by too much exposure and over playing the songs and the general public got sick of it. but the point is, how the fuck can you get sick of this great music?! haha. it's hard and heavy for the metal heads to rock out to and poppy and catchy to get the general public to accept it, how can this go outta fashion?
man thats awesome. does he need a band to back him up?? tell him to get off his ass and jam theres still plenty of fans out there and i am one of them.
I bought their cd in 2002 and i first time that i heard i talk with myself OMG why didn't i hear that before? this is "AWESOME" , btw hi_tech definition thx 4 the uploading!!!
@Kainturner Obviously you didn't follow them at all. I did and they chased popularity (grunge) for thier second album. They were never metal metal, but they did have a nice metal sleezey blues vibe going for them. They traded that to join the grunge scene and died a death. Fuck them.
Hands down one of the BEST bands from the late 80's! I remember first hearing them from the RoboCop soundtrack.... on a video after Arsenio Hall of all things!! Awesome!
You are so correct man. That bastard Kurt cobain said he was sick of the so-called "corporate" hair-metal bands : in reality Nirvana sold more records than those "commercial" bands ever did. He was totally in it for the money.
Nirvana have not sold more records than Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses or Bon Jovi. So you're wrong. And if you put all the hair bands together, they're a lot bigger than the grunge bands, because they were alot more.
If he really is, pass on to him that he has an amazing voice for singing. And I am one of many who wished they had gotten really big and made more albums.
actually I think that what killed real music was drugs and its own arrogance...there were too many wannabe rockstars that did it for the money.....that's what killed real music..it was the money not cobain/.....he just took advantage of that situation
Long live the 80's brother's and sister's! Man, I miss those days so much. Everyone ever notice that 80's metal NEVER sounds dated? That song and every other one from other bands sounds new everytime you hear/play it. Because it's alive and filled with engery that never dies. Long live the Metal and it's fans. I just past 30 years of it ( first concert KISS 1976 ) and I'm 39 :D
Damn I miss this music. I'm sick of the crap these days. Everyone sounds like tool or nickelback. Nobody seems to apprieciate or even now good guitar music these days.
Goddamn is this shit roxx or what? Love the band! The video is cool and the solo rips! plus is very unique. Long live Babylon A.D. long live the 80'z xD
Thats one way to look at it but Cobain and Nirvana weren't responsible for the copycats who ripped them off. Also, the pigs who control the music mags, Mtv, radio, etc., did all they could to push that music, gave it names, grunge and alternative and were pushin it and the stupid public fell for it as they always do. Metal has never got that respect buy lives on despite the establishment!
You guys should check out Ron Freschi, Babylon A.D.'s lead guitarist in the video "Hammer Swings Down," with his new band, Syrym (syrym[dot]com). Fuckin' killer stuff!
I had so much fun being in this video!
Every time I hear this song, I can't get it out of my head. A lot of fun. :)
