@punk434 Yes his heart was broken by the woman that mothered his children. He was hurting for years. But I also believe that Gary and Phil were very romantic souls. They both loved the blues. RIP Gary! Phil will be happy to see you.
@punk434 I have a friend in Ireland(Belfast) that grew up a few doors away from him and we are all about the same age. She never knew the woman’s name, but it was a woman from Sussex England, and rumor has it that he got the scar from a fight with the guy she left him for. And it was a fight in a pub, where the guy broke a pint glass and stuck it in his face. He was with Skid Row at the time or maybe just before that. He is an awesome guy. I met him a couple times in Blackpool, England.
@Claptonblues55 wow! I dont want to be tought but that sounds like a lie, how do i know that what you're telling me it's true? and your freinds met Gary or something?
@punk434 Shouldn't call people liars when you don't know the facts. And second, I don't give a crap what you think. I was trying to be nice and share my knowledge with you, but F*** You!!!! I lived over there for 9 years in the 80's and traveled all of Europe. I was also married to a Professional Snooker Player, with press passes. JERK!
Best guitarist ever!!!!His emotion is so strong...I don't think that there will aever be a guitarist as good as he was ...R.I.P Gary Moore we miss you!!!!
This song seems bluesy but also western inspired: This song is really the lonely man's song, I hope though that Gary Moore is not alone wherever he is.
Off all the people GOD( Wanker ) could have taken he decides its Moorey yet leaves the Obvious despots to destroy their people , makes me wonder why people BUY into religion
R.I.P Gary Moore, the best all-around-guitar player ever!!! This song is very beautiful and the name makes me sad because now we really have a reason to cry. This song´s solo is one of the best Gary ever released. SO much feeling and I think it is Fender Stratocaster. What a player we have lost and are going to miss so much!

@mario66617 - No...no...We don't must cry him ! We must keep him in our souls with a smile on our face, with his music in your speakers. We must not forget him and think that this is his last job : Teaching God some blues. We don't cry ! No...we don't ! No reason to cry ! Just smile...He is NOT dead...he is alive...in our souls.
There are a few artist/bands that you can play & never be bored. The songs will sound just as good years later than when they were first made. Gary Moore is one of these. Difficult to say which is my favourite? possibly Still got the blues? he has done so many excellent songs live & recorded. A nice well put together video.
Gary Moore is the BEST guitarist I've ever seen or heard, and I've seen all the greats. Not only can he play amazingly fast, but he squeezes every emotion out of every note he plays. The sweetest guitar tone I've ever heard. ....wish he would come to the USA.
well Gary did once mention in an interview that he considered Roy one of his favorite guitar players. Anyway what makes this song amazing is that it's original in it's own way, the lyrics are perfect, and the solo is just breathtaking to say the least. Of course there's no denying a little bit of Roy influence ; )
@zabitken Thanx for the info I will have look for it.I have alot of Gary Moore CDs and DVDs but some of his CDs are hard to come by over here in the U.S. where he isn't as popular as in other parts of the world.
i often read listeners arguing about gary moore not being a blues guitarist and a rock guitarist and all that shit. Gary has his own trend to music that he likes and he is very passionate about it. he loves to play guitar, and he plays it well really well. give him the credit he deserves....
also from an english person gary moore is fantastic. yes a living legend such wonderful music feelings and a fantastic guitarist.. some dregs of this earth just dont appreciate good music..fantastic.. one of my fav singers and guitarists..

Newcastle Evening said on 21 4 2009 Maybe it was just the sound. All night Moores three-piece backing band were struggling for a voice. Moore is incredibly gifted. He gets his guitar pulling my memories of late great Roy Buchanan right out of my heart! That telecaster sound is so raw & sweet.
thanks for the song and the video...one little thing...i think he's saying "life and love have passed me by", not "laughing love". but he's saying kind of like a country and western singer with a bit of a "twang" so "life" sounds like "laff"....but really liked the video you put together...thanks!!
Seen the man do it live, one of the best gigs I've ever been to, my fave Moore song. He's finally learning the old "less is more" thing and stopped playing as fast as possible with lots of overdrive =]
Such a beautiful solo, this proves how whilst he can take a thousand notes and play speed at the right time he can also take just one note at the right time and make it the most beautiful you'll ever hear. Such talent, so many guitarists can't slow themselves down, he has so much control and musical intuition.
That is a beautiful song, this is the first time I've heard it, thanks for sharing.
