That Dismember album at around 4 minutes in contains th song Dreaming in red, wich to me is the anthem of my beginning musical interest in the early teens. I can still listen to it and close my eyes and I will see all my classmates from school, the girls i liked, the math book. Hell, I can even smell the classrooms. Music is wierd like that, how it can associate with your memories in such vivid ways. I wish music would get it´s soul back. Why can´t it sound like in the 90s?

Musical develops and evolves, it doesn't really have a cut off point. It's like people who say Black Sabbath were the first heavy metal band - they were more of a transition from hard rock to heavy metal (hence the label of being the first heavy metal band), not a sudden full on wave of ultra brutal heaviness.
