  • thumbs up for the video description. no more to say about this awesome band!

  • Kele's turning into a regular black person every day.... (chains, cap) lol

  • i hate it when the crowed just stands and watches yeh :/ why the fuck are you there

  • AMAZING! THIS SONG IS AMAZING!! THIS LIVE PERFORMANCE IS ABSOLUTLY PERFECT!! PERIOD.

  • kele destoryed those vocalss...

in the good way of coursee....

that must of taken a lot of stamina....

to dance around... sing the slow part... and.. be soo clear with his deliveryy..

    10 points for Gryffindor.....lol..

  • i think this sound better with bass :(

  • 0:14 OYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Russell's tecnhique on guitar is unsual, he makes great use of effects pedals, and he plays very tidy on every performance. Great performance!!

  • Creepyseven,very well said there.

    they're very impressive live!

    incredible..

  • Looks like someone watched too many Run DMC videos.

  • lol kele whats up with the gangsta getup

  • Dude hes really British and Fuck anyone who says Silent Alarm is their best album

  • lol ur a fuckn fool. silent alarm IS their best album. Im guessing you're one of those who became a fan around the time of the release of intimacy. zzz

  • hes dressed as a ganster to poke shit, hes done it in heaps on concerts

  • He looks like a badass as well though :D

  • wonderful

  • there best album was deff Silent Alarm. Like Eating Grass, Helicopter, Positive Tension, Banquet, Pioneers, Price of Gas and So here we Are were all brilliant songs. Weekend in the city wasnt as good. Flux and The Prayer are gd but the rest isnt good. Then Intimacy i reckon is good. Ares, Mercury, Halo, Signs, One Month Off and Talons are gd. Especially Halo. I think its magnificant. Can't wait for album number 4!

  • They're going on a hiatus

  • A.W.I.T.C is better

  • @kingedd42 Like Eating Grass?? Lol!!

  • @kingedd42 woahhh dude... you definitely left off a lott of the brilliance on A Weekend in the City...

Song for Clay... Kreuzberg.....Sunday...and of course..UNIFORM!!!!!!.... a lot of the others are really good too...they just take a few more listenss.because they are slowerr.. and don't scream "I'm Awesome" in your ears right awayy....

i feel like.. Silent Alarm has abstract beauty...

A Weekend in the City has sentimental beauty....

and.... Intimacy.. has creatively thematic beauty.. : D

  • @posh915 since i posted that comment ive gone much deeper into bloc partys work and i now love almost all their songs. My ipod is now loaded with Bloc Party and Kele's solo work. Its awesome.

  • @kingedd42 Yayyss.... i'm gladd... Bloc Party is love... : ]

  • what i love about them?

    1. their tune

    2. kele's voice

    3. they just make something special out of every song in every concert!

  • Kele looks Gangsta fresh! :3 and Russell looks so fucking cuddly!

  • I love Bloc Party, but nothing they've done compares to Silent Alarm

  • Kele's so confident this time on Later Live. Such a contrast to their first appearance on TV when they played Helicopter.

  • like the cd was ok and all but i didnt really intimacy compared to like silent alarm, tht was there best album for sure

  • I know...

  • great song has too much energy

  • Maybe this is one of the most special Bloc Party's songs but, like with The Prayer, their will to change their sound is surely appreciable !

  • Hm..so different listening to it live!

But I freakin' love Bloc Party.:)

  • Of all the songs to choose, why go for pretty easily the most difficult to recreate live?

  • i think its coz their most complex songs are the best and they know that

  • Yeah I guess so

  • Get out of the WAY... or, Get Fuck'd Up!

  • fucking awesome.

  • AWESOME

  • this reminds me of chemical brothers

  • what the fuck is wrong with trying to be an MC???

rapping goes back to the 30's, wtf is wrong with you?

  • their first album was so much better than this D:

    but this isn't too bad

  • just gotta love kele n his lil jigs haha

  • Man, Intimacy is way my favorite album. But I'm huge on awesome drum parts... So that may have something to do with it.

  • the first album was great, but this is just the sound of a band trying to be experimental, not knowing how and failing horribly

  • no no no

  • man they didnt obviously fail horribly because people still love them and yeah their first album was better i still like this one.

  • Do you know what "experimental" means?

  • Their best album is still their first one, but Intimacy still had some great songs. This one among them.

  • i totally agree. silent alarm is amazing and area is super live!

  • wats gordon playing?

  • i think he's playing like back up drums...

  • @cahawks it's a drum machine; mimics drum sounds by hitting the pad, obviously having a more computerised sound than tong can achieve on his acoustic set. So yes, basically back up drums.

  • @TheSummerService or it's a sampler set up with drum sounds... same end result.

  • @rathbone11 I'm pretty sure he's playing a sampler

  • @rathbone11 a midi pad

  • i had no idea kele was such a gansta. thats awesome

  • i totally disagree with u there.

  • its got the same tomorow never knows drum patterns... gordons playig some sub-bassed drums underneath and the russell is playing some siren like notes... now go and listen to setting sun and tell me it isn't a shameless rip off

bring back bloc party with guitars, when they were good - they've no idea how to use 'alternative instrumentation' without it sounded over thought and just for the sake of it

listening to Kid A just isn't good enough im afraid

  • if ur onabout the chemical borthers song it isnt that much of a rip off

  • I also totally disagree with you

  • these guys really are anazing live. especially russell,

  • Good to hear I'm seeing them live tonight for the first time on there canadian tour, can't fucking wait.

  • looks like dizzee rascal LOL

i have felt his face though.. very rough indeed, good song, feels sorta ruined live though :\

  • vox need going down and distorting....

    guitar UPPPP

Drums....I don't think you can really do much with drums live, can you? allough, you are running them through mics so you could distort them that way....

it all sounds too clean. Great talent, great skill, love the song, but I don't see why they perform it sounding so tidy. It just isn't as badass.

  • ''SUPERB PERCUSSION DRUMS...Bloc Party''-classic

  • i like this song especially the cd version, the live one sounds better than the helicopter [live] on here, i like his hat though

  • hmm this song doesn't really work live sadly. I love it but it sounds as if Kele can barely get the verses out, I think he should split the vocals with Gordon.

  • it really is similar but i like the rip off

  • amazing

  • the beggining reminds me of depeche mode´s a pain that im used to is it just me !! please tel me that im not alone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I say the same the first time that I ear it!!!

    You are not alone!

  • it definitely does, i can see a lawsuit coming. LoL.

  • they should have had more backing vocals at the start and also when matt and gordy were singing, turn their microphones up.

love this song though - its really grown on me :)

  • LOL

    Pause At 1:58

    =P

    Still Amazing Song Though ^.^

  • lol thats actually hilarious :)

  • Why is Kele dressed like a gangsta. Kinda weird

  • Hey Viewers,

I just posted a video of bloc party performing "this modern love" to a crowd of french fans on the streets of Paris.

    so check it out

    Thankz.

  • That was amazing. Poor audio quality though, but amazing performance...

  • Kele resumes what it feels like to be young in the Time we are living.

    God Bless Bloc Party.

  • exactly, that's the beauty of this song in particular

  • Anyone else seeing more of radiohead in bloc party's musical direction?

    Loving Intimacy :)

    Best Bloc Party album!

  • in what sense?

i don't see it, this sounds much more upbeat and much more of an indie/urban/dance kind of thing

  • Intimacy is kinda bloc party's Kid A. Its a lot more electronica and experimental, its divided the fans.

Songs like Signs and Zephyrus are like Kid A and Idioteque. Obviously Bloc party have there own style and more mainstream but i think intent is the same.

  • it's because people lost faith in "Mercury" which really saddened me. but by the time "Talons" was released, we got half of what we lost back.

  • i see your point, but since blue order bands have always experimented with more electronic ideas, don't pin it down to just radiohead. I do like how it's split the fans though, just makes it all the more rewarding for us.

I actually spoke to Russell about it at a DJ set in London, we basically agreed that bands like oasis that repeat the same album each year are shit

  • Lol yea i agree. I like bands that are constantly producing new and exciting stuff. Bloc Party tick that box.

Oasis and bands like that actually make me angry that they are classed as musicians!

  • woah you made a slightly new way of making a guitar sound like an un melodic chainsaw, well done mr gallagher, i bow at your feet

  • lol.

  • the best band on the planet, ever, in my opinion.

  • i share that same view.

definitely the best band on the planet.

  • good (:

  • Oddly i quite liked this tune. Haven't heard anything like it, so was good to hear something different.

  • sounds like prodigy - smack my bitch up

  • Kele Okereke; Probably the only person on this planet who DOSN'T look like a complete dick wearing a BigGoldChain ™

  • Not bloody bad, I will follow Bloc Party wherever they go.

  • why is starting to look more like a rude boy

  • I agree

  • i have to say i admire bloc party for the change. at the start they sounded like a really interesting band but now the change has been insane! i can see why people dont like it, mainly the people who loved silent alarm, but i think this is incredible (:

  • yeah I agree

  • Not great. It's really not is it? Shitty : (

  • na, i still can't get a handle on this new twist for bloc party, i'm a hardcore fan, but this just seems like bad dizzee rascal, elements of british grime scene creeping in, but i think kele's vocals were so unique on silent alarm, and some specific tracks on WITC but now i dunno, something's not right. anyone agree?

  • I agree. I as well am a big fan of Bloc Party and have grown accustomed to their new style. But it is a big change in music. Much rather them to go back to the old Bloc Party. Like I have said before B-side album would kick some ass

  • i agree too, i understand how they wanted a unique style, but both Silent Alarm and Weekend in the city were unique and great. Im still going to buy Intimacy, but i doubt it will hold a candle to SA or AWITC.

  • why would you want them to release the same thing over again though, it'd just be like U2 and Kaiser Chiefs. They need room to experiment and it's music you need to 'get' and be open minded to the change

  • not really, i think the new sound is good, they cant keep doing the same sound like shitty oasis!

  • Yeh man! :L

  • don't fix somthing thats not broken

  • totally agree. im glad that bloc tries out new sounds and evolves, but it would be nice for them to make their next album more silent alarm-esque. but theres nothing wrong with the new albums they're all good.

  • they have huge balls to change this much, gotta love em.

Lol, i find it funny how people used to think of em as just another indie band...

  • farkin crazy :)

  • lol at Kele. I just laughed my ass out.

  • Hey thanks for these, I tried to watch them off of a BBC website and it said "only available in UK," so thanks a bunch for posting them.

  • No problem

Always glad to post anything related to bloc party for anyone who loves the not-so typical indie rock band.

  • Sweeeeeeeeeet!

    I LOVE it!

  • How the hell does Russell do that?!?

  • just look down by his feet.

that's what all those pedals are for.

like i said before, he's a master of guitar pedals.

    Fucking amazing.

  • He'll always be a poor man's Jonny Greenwood though.

  • It is probably a digitech XP100 whammy pedal.
