I am hoping that the next Generation Hyundai Veracruz looks like the 2010 Infiniti FX since the 2010 Hyundai Tucson resembles the Nissan Rogue. I am looking to upgrade my 2007 Elantra
hey people im the guy that said that would buy a LIMITED ONE A COUPLE COMMENTS DOWN I BOUGHT IT XD :D it is bronze with brown leather interior and logic7 sound with a dvd player : D I LOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEE ITTTT
I drive around a co-worker's RX350 all the time and it's nice but nothing to write home about.
The Hyundai is obviously the better value and the quality is up there now but Lexus has earned it's right to charge for it's brand name.
Veracruz has an invoice range of 26k-33k whereas the RX350 is at 33k-34k. Hyundai will price MSRP $3,000 up whereas Lexus won't have any problem starting at $5,000 over invoice.
@epik151 hyundai will never over charge for their cars they are actually looking out for customers there is no need to charge alot for a car that dosent need to be charged that much hyundai is smart.
I have a Veracruz SE, the "sport" vertion, in a couple years I will buy the LIMITED one, its much better than the Lexus RX, 3 row seats, now with a GPS, LOGIC 7 sound system, power seats with memory, soundroof 38K dollars its a bargain.
Call me shallow, but Hyundai to me is about economy and price advantage... if you compare apples to apples between this and an RX350 (I know, the RX doesn't have 3rd row) then you're talking only a $8000 difference in MSRP, but given the Lexus's better value retention, why would I buy the Veracruz?
because that is just a base price. not think about adding the options... leather, stuff it cost way more and dude 8000? you think that is small amount of money?
$8000 is not "small potatoes" but percentage wise, for a $35K car, $8K is 22% where if the same $8K is the variance for a $15K car (53%). Just look at it his way, if you can afford a $200K car, $8K is very small, but $8K to a person who can only afford a $15K car is a lot. I'm just saying, if you're able to buy a $38K Lexus, you're option is not a Hyundai Veracruz.
38k? so that would be like base price of Rx series right? well 37,500 is the base price for RX, and the highest price for VEracruz is 37,500, and now if i were you, why would i get the base level of lexus and buy the full option Veracruz with same price? it 's got all luxury there are in the market and why not buy Veracruz?
comp. equipped, an RX is $43K compared to Veracruz $37K and this is just MSRP, so difference is $6K, even less than I thought, but with dealer negotiation, it could be $8K difference. I'm just saying, if you're able to comfortably afford a $38K vehicle (yes, only base for RX), that $8K over the life of the vehicle is not going to break your back, and if it does, then this is not your price point.
hmm you have a ponit. but think of this way. If Veracruz was from Lexus and You got all the features that you can find on Lexus Rx, plus more spacious, more horsepower, good design(incase if you haven't seen Veracruz in person).. why would you spend over 6k or 8k? i mean if you got money and don't care about saving money, then why not buy Rx? But SMart and rich people save money because they make the right decisions.
Point taken. We have a RX, and at the same time we don't have disposal income enough to say $8K is "insignificant" in any fashion. What I'm saying is that I don't view Hyundai in the same light as Lexus where over the life of a vehicle, $8K is going to make me buy a Hyundai over a Lexus. Probably bad on me, but like a lot of buyers, they are brand/country/style loyal to particular vehicles and I'm one of them.
haha i respect that you are loyal to Lexus. am i right? well i actually do'nt have loyalty to any carmakers. Well i would testdrive and look for the value(design and spacious). So haha yeah i guess we are two different people.
smart buyer.. i actually cross-shopped between 10 CUVs and SUVs before I ended up with the Kia Mohave/Borrego.. It's actually better in almost everything except the "badge".. good thing I don't care about "badge"..
I presume you mean the Veracruz? I have actually, when it first came out and got rave reviews compared to the RX in Car&Driver. Although much improved, I didn't think it was better than the current RX in refinement or fit-n-finish. Even if I hadn't driven it, I can't have a general opinion on Hyundai and Lexus based on IMHO? You're riding on a mighty high ivory tower there.

Almost everything is better than the overpriced RX. CX9 is far superior to RX. Veracruz is the best deal for the money.
