  • @Lolzabble the manual

  • this was a big thing back in the day that via did tring to say hay if you pute time into makeing a cpu you can make it run cooler and better.

  • Well, a snapdragon (phone cpu) - runs at 1 ghz ... It does not have a heatsink

  • Thank you for uploading!

This morning the first tones of the first song in this video came to my mind (i don't know why...) It took me nearly all day to remember where i heard them...

Now - does anybody know what the songs name is? I've already listened into several "Burn Baby burn"-Tracks, but i haven't found the right one yet...

  • the song is The Bobs - Disco Inferno

I figured that out through Winamp - I udsed Youtube downloader and converted this video to mp3 then Auto-tagged the song :D

  • @L4X1K3 You're the man. Thank you!

  • np :)

  • I actually made this video back in 2001. And yes, the C3 really ran overnight without a heatsink. Not that its a very fast processor or anything, but good for embedded use.

  • ok then thats stupid i bet theres many PROBLEMS with it u know why THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANY THING ELSE SCREW WHO EVER MADE THIS VID OWNED (also how would i know if my heat sink went out i wodent and it would never work again intel chipaets suvive but slow down NOT CRASH unlike amds 600 F intel 80 TO 100 F those are peces of shit

  • woah! its cooler than GeForce4 MX 440b

  • do these throttle when it over heats?

  • nope.. it just doesnt get as hot as a AMD or an Intel ^^

no power -> no heat :DD

but those CPUs are still perfect for car-pcs or homeservers as they use a absolute MAXIMUM of 20W!

i've got a homeserver running with a Via C3 866MHz.. completely passive cooled and the whole system uses a maximum of 70W at 100% CPU usage.. your electricity bill will thank you :D

  • like shit

  • My Intel Centrino DUO prossor run at an avrage temp. of 107c. I never get any problems.

  • My Celeron 500 PGA370 can run with no heatsink. My Pentium III can not run with no heatsink but the pentium lll can run with a Intel pentium heatsink with no fan. Temperature: 96 c`

  • my amd 3700+ can do the same if i underclock it to the speed a via runs at lol

  • @AMDkicksass haha :D

  • My Celeron 500 PGA370 can run with no heatsink. My Pentium III can not run with no heatsink:-(

  • why the fuck wulod it need a heat sink if this is mot fack i could mack a vil like this with my core 2 duo and tell you it was real .some one should film what relly happans to a via cpu when you do that

  • i have core 2 due, playing fear full graphics, two 2900 hd xt, the second i turned the water cooling off , shut down system....

  • I men make a fake vid like this one lol

  • Screw VIA!

  • If you pause is at 36 seconds, you will see there is no thermal paste under that heatsink and he pulled it right off cpu's cannot run without a heatsink. He just plugged the monitor in another pc.

  • VIA's suck! Their lack of processing speed makes it run cooler.

  • cool

  • If I get a chance to grab one of those, I'll bench it. I don't have any problems for that.

  • Why Put a heatsink on it it functions well without it

  • When a cpu overheats it will shut down, not show the screen freeze up...

  • He pasued the video (duh)

  • lol, those cpu's dont come with heatsinks ;p

  • LIES Via's ARE CRAP.

    CORE 2 DUO's RULE.

  • you mean quad core...

  • Whoever uploaded this is a moron.

Do you think you can trick us.

    Your such noob.

  • Oh and by the way, why didn't he show the pentium crash? He just wrote what happened, if it was real the screen would go blank. Or the screen would freeze.

  • It did crash..I know it's fake but you should b e smart enough to see the fucking moniter. It fucking crashed.

  • Also if you continue looking I don't see the vga cable to the monitor its fake guys, no thermal paste its hooked up to another computer

  • If you pause is at 36 seconds, you will see there is no thermal paste under that heatsink and he pulled it right off so it is fake.

  • Erwahahahaha...Efficient? Yes! Good performer? Definately NOT! What you didn't know is that VIA bought Cyrix. Which created the Cyrix-III Socket 370-based processor. And to hide the frequently lawsuited Cyrix name...They then called it the C3. What's even funnier is the VIA C3 shown here has an FSB speed of 133 MHz while it competes against Intel's budget line with 66-100 MHz FSB Celerons.

  • waduk

  • LOL! 24 hours w/o heatsink? o_O

  • how, in the name of god!

  • they're still pretty sorry processors. good only for low powered applications.

  • The 2nd song is Cold as Ice from Jay-Z but what is the first song?

  • WOW If I didn't see it I wouldn't have believed it. That's just crazy. Very cool! (sorry for the pun)

  • i still do

  • Heh, I remember when we used to laugh at Weitek and Cyrix.

  • i have no clue search for cold a ice and i am sure you will find it ;D

  • cold as ice?

  • yep who sings it?

  • foreigner.

  • Hey nice vid..do you know whts the second song? the one while via processor was on?

  • via ftw! damn glad i have a c3 XD

  • wow i want one
