Stanley Clark and Jaco Pastorius would give you a standing O. Excellent style and technique. I'm gonna practive those moves and try and keep up with you! :)
@69erthx1138 No, I just play bass. It gives you enough range to play in a band, but I now have a six string bass, which works great for playing solo bass..
Are you bringing your thumb to rest on the string below the one you tap? It almost looks like you are tapping across the string as opposed to attacking only from the top.
@omnipitantlyoriginal The bass is an Ibanez Srx-400. I like the Brothers Johnson a lot. They have some of the funkiest basslines I've ever heard. This is one of my older vids. I hadn't heard of The Brothers Johnson util recently. I am definitely trying to learn some of their funk techniques!
youve got skills man seriously..... but honestly I prefer more melodical stuff ( which doesen't mean easier by the way) than the stuff you tend to play...
thats really nice but can i ask you if you could like send me the tab of the intro (main slap riff) its really nice but i cant see all what you do with your hands thx=)
By learning techniques from my favorite players, and then combining them all together. Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan video's helped me learn quite a few different techniques.
I don't really like the fast solos you're always playing... obviously they are hard but it sounds more like a factory xD (no offense, that was more like a joke)
Incredibly unique style. Seeing a bassist like you is an inspiration. Excellent technique, and a very original sound. Thanks for sharing this with the world. =)
damn bro...great playing, i love your approach on how you play...very subtle...you dont struggle like all those other dudes out there...great job brotha!
Hey man, how many fingers do you use? It looks like three, but I am working on doing taps, I do a lot of fast sweeps like you. I watched your other vids, and your style is what I have been going for. But I haven't focused on taps and slaps enough. So now I am starting on that, any tips?
Thanks for the great comment! I am using 3 fingers. I am still relatively new to slapping. Its just one of those things that takes time. I think if you learn about slapping muted notes, it will help you out a lot. Tapping takes awhile to develop as well. Placing your middle finger over your index finger for extra strength and tap scales all over the neck.
Yes, I want explain to you "strange" : it makes me feel that Miles Davies said "A melody in a melody". It's not easy to compose this kind of music. That's great ! Alain
Thanks for the great comment. Thats a great idea. I've always wanted to make a solo album. I need to get new pickups or a new bass first. I do listen to peoples suggestions and its helped my playing a lot. Thanks again for the kind words.
