Why hate on this great car? It's fuel efficient, has a nice design, is great for anyone techno-savvy, and it's at a reasonable price! I just got this in red as my first car, I'm 15, and you have no idea how excited I am! It's a gorgeous car for anyone of any age, and when I'm an adult and can buy my own car, I would buy this again anyday! :) Go Focus!

I own this car too. (My first car, so maybe not the wisest option). But it handles well, it's fun, gives great mileage, and it pisses people off. But who cares what people think? I started worrying less about what people thought when I realized how little they actually did.

I think the car itself is great!! that is what i own one. i get great mileage on it. 34 mpg is what i am getting at this precise moment. wohoo ford focus is one of the most fuel efficient cars of its type. not only is it fuel efficient it is also very sexxxyyyy

I have a 2000 Focus and love the car, but ford doesn't place any value in the American market and made an Escort with a Tiburon fender scoop.

The toyota yaris looks better I think my next car will be one of those.

Not only is this any ugly car, but even that is also the laziest coupe attempt ever made. Coupes are supposed to at least hint at sportiness or sexiness, on this they've just taken the back doors off!

Gee, welcome a downsized Ford Tempo. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Ford ruined clean European styling, dropped sporty ZX3, Euro-looking ZX5 and the sensible wagon and came up with THIS. Oh, boy. Just got myself a Focus Wagon Street Edition, love the car, it looks great, drives great, swallows a boxed 42-inch plasma TV. Speak about handling and utility.

the euro spec ..still wipes its ass on this one .here in the uk weve got the st.sport and even the interior quality is better than this cheap "spinoff" ...its only a focus with the angled lights at the back ..we call that over here a mondeo

I have heard the previous styled focus was designed by Germans in Ford's Germany cologne plant. so I guess this is the new Americanized edition?

I seen this at the dealer and the car is very disappointing looking. It looks cheap and is a downgrade from the old design. Ford has not fixed its internal issues with ugly designs. Who cares how it drives if you don't want to get into it.

I hope Ford reads these, this is a Ford marketing account I think

1. STOP COVERING THE WORLD IN CHROME!The average consumer can't tell the Fusion from the Taurus when they're driving at them.

2. This car should not have a chrome grille, the 2 bars scream "cheap" as in 3 bars is too expensive.

3. EVERYONE, likes the European Focus better, take a hint.

4. Corporate styling kills children. Taurus shouldn't look like Fusion, Ranger shouldn't (try) to look like F-series.

The second generation Focus is available at your local Volvo dealership...it's called the S40! As far as this "new" Focus is concerned, it's not bad. The original mk1 Focus is a better car than it's competition at a reasonable price.

Safety standard in europe is notably higher than in U.S. The old Kia sedona/carnival got 5stars in U.S and 2 stars from EuroNCAP. But i think it is true that the problem is due to pricing, which makes it the GEN2 Focus not competitive in the U.S with the likes of Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla which starts at around 12k...The Europe version looks so much better than this one...

Converted to meet U.S. saftey standards, the Euro Focus would cost about $20,000 to start. Americans will not pay that much for an entry level car.

That is simply not true, the 20,000$ focus would be the Focus ST, the entry level one will probably start at 14k-16k

In Europe, Ka is entry level, Fiesta is an upgrade, and Focus is a premium compact, and was designed as such. Its platform is very expensive, and it would retail at approx. 16,000 starting, and up to the mid 20s for the ST and convertible. This is not acceptable for the North American market. When the European Focus runs its product life cycle, the replacement will be shared with America and Europe. The 2008MY Focus will be replaced in 2011 or 2012 with the Next-Generation Focus.

Ok, this is really a facelift of the 1ST GENERATION Focus, and it is not based on the modern and highly successful 2nd Gen Focus the rest of the world gets!!!

As it is, the front looks good, but I'm not sure about that rear - maybe it would look better if the numberplate was mounted and recessed above the bumper...

Something else though, it astounds me that they dropped the hatchback and wagon models, particularly as they are rare niches of the US market - and replaced them with a coupe...
