  • I wasn't 5 yrs old unfortunately (LOL) but alot older at 22 yrs old when this came out and recall rushing home with this LP. The cover art drew me to it.

Since that day i've loved this LP. The percussion on this one is perfect.

Back in 1978 we were spoilt for choice because there were so many great sounds around.

    That classic jazz fusion era.

  • @taildragger53 Yes...that time period was a GREAT time for music in general. And I say up till about 83...then it began to "change".

  • @MsTexas73 I never thought about the time period in which it changed but you have a very good point. Yes, 1983 was about right.

I suppose maybe this was because the electronic era took over and the sound became more processed. Certainly that was the case with pop music.

Thank you for that observation and also for this wonderful track.

  • one of my favorites tune by mr. grover r.i.p.

  • I was only 5 when this song came out...I used to hear my parents play it when I was younger...Now that I'm 38 I can, and will appreciate music like this...

  • @keepthapinit I was also 5 when t his came out...but I've always appreciated GOOD music...as I got older and more mature, the appreciation grew, but my mom says from the womb music was my sanctuary.

  • @NJSWEST Hey. "Lock in the Pocket" from Live at the Bijou is posted on here somewhere....just saw it the other day.

  • Cool Jazz at its finest

  • @AquarianTempleBEL You know it!

  • Was this 78 or 79? I was 13/14 years old when I heard this, that's when I started listening to Jazz. I have more appreciation for it now, being that a lot of jazz is watered down or what I called homogenized

  • @dbryantkeys Reed Seed came out in 78.

  • @MsTexas73 thank you Ms Texas, I love the seafood in Port Arthur

  • @dbryantkeys You're welcome. BTW, I'm not from Texas. My screen name relates to something else.

  • @NJSWEST Right On! Remember his song from Live at the Bijou? *smiling*

  • I so love this man and all his music! I have him on the vinyl.

  • how him could get theese armonics on soprano sax ? Even Wayne Shorter is not able to get this! He was a genius and his music is always nice, easy to listen and very elegant. His music is not elevator music like Kenny G.

  • it's incredible his level on soprano sax, technically, melodically and he played with absolute good taste.Grover Washington was a huge artist and one of the better soprano sax players of all times.

  • @sixteenman Yep.

  • one of the baddest album of all time BIG LOU.

  • Soft, nice and easy listening music.

A great composer in his time.

    What a pleasure to listen.

Fabulous Grover & Every one of them in this crew.

Thanks Ms Texas73 for sharing this with others
