George you are such a responsible and responsive public servant. Thanks for doing this. I've been wondering if democrats should push an ironic impossible goal bill that republican's couldn't possibly filibuster or block, like the Lieberman "We want to acknowledge how fantastically everything is going in Iraq bill". Forcing a vote could force them to go on record and they might not be able to filibuster something that was worded so cleverly.
we're all frustrated as hell with the war, and we need to keep pushing on bills that should pass.

If President Bush believes that the war will ultimately benefit the the American people, why wouldn't he ask the people to share the troops burden and accept a war tax so that future generations don't have to pay.
What about a war profit tax that limits corp profits to let's say COLA's.
Thanks for your question. Below I'll repeat the same request I left for another commenter:

You were quite upset on the House floor today when speaking about the College Loan Bill. What procedural move did the Republicans make that got you so upset? And did any Republican have to go on record for making it?
With Bush in denial about the War how far are Dems willing to go to bring troops home? If the people can't trust Dems to go to the mat to end this war (cut off funding), how can you expect our support? You don't need to "get with the president" to end this war...he doesn't care what you think or say. Democrats need to act in a unified manner to end this war. If you all do that, voters will return you to Washington.

They offered a motion to recommit that would have killed the bill entirely.

I put up a video response. My question is why any of us should trust you to stand up to Bush when you failed earlier this year.
