  • @zippo718 Go on amazon.com you can find some promo/import singles of this from back in 97. The only prob with this track is Mariah had the same sample a month before this joint dropped,it was a smash and AZ's album didn't drop for another 6 months or so,so they left it off the album. Still a hot track.

  • I agree AZ is a legend... too bad he don't get the respect he deserves. I miss that real NY hip hop.

  • youtube IOTOS if u fucks wit real HIP HOP...

  • you know who killed hip hop besides the whack ass mcs? the so called fans! if they demanded a higher standard of hip hop and didnt support bullshit rappers the game would be better off!

  • so many deaf and blind got caught up or left behind

i guess bacardi lime gave me my strength to go the extra nine

next in line, slow G-ing, low key-ing

me and the crew in the gold B.M, O.D-ing

Daaaaaamn....name just ONE nigga that can flow like this who isnt from the 90's....here's a hint, there are none!!! Real rap died in the year 2000

  • @egyptian420 well there is shad

  • @briskhockey looove Shad....was at the Opera house in toronto watching him perform live, he killed it

  • Whatever happen to AZ...SMH

  • @jenntariq HE JUST DROPED A ALBUM

  • @jenntariq He's still here, makin music

  • Even his laid back party tracks have substance...hes a genius

  • AZ influenced Eminem so much its crazy

that whole Infinite album Em sounds like him!!!

  • @baddestassassin13

if AZ Influenced EM... Then why is EM lettin 50 go at AZ sayin AZ make bs Tracks.. lol... we all know 50 aint even close

  • @Activist88

everybody knows Em was influenced by AZ... he also said that people underrate his mastermind lyricism... "or maybe they'll mistakenly put me all the way to the bottom of the list right next to A-Z"...

he says it numerously... and Em let 50 go at Ross too... shit Ross called Em a honkey... so whats ur point?

  • tru indeed

people just wrote my first book on lyrical artist

    errolmwright,com check my site. peace

  • this is some shit to have fun and chill with your homies...

and it still better than the one they play today

  • i couldnt imagine hot 97 bumping this while im driving to nyc...i guessed i missed a epic era

  • hey dj was better

  • LOL, HOW CRAETIVE THIS SONG CAME OUT IN 1997-1998...THE SAME YEAR MARIAH USED THE SAMPLE FOR "HONEY"......lol.

and 3 yrs before, A Lighter Shade Of Brown, had a song called 'Hey DJ", excat sample!!

  • AS IF THIS AINT ON AN ALBUM! mos def one of his best. timeless flow

  • AZ has always been hot!! Remember this track from Norfolk state in college!! Rocked rather unique and gimme yours remix in 11th grade!! Real hip hop will never die!!

  • I love west coast shit dont get me wrong, I was bumpin all of Death Row's shit IN THE PEAK OF THE BIGGIE AND TUPAC BEEF, IN THE MIDDLE OF BROOKLYN NYC shit blastin in my car, windows down and all that! Its all about Hip Hop to me, fuck "Rap", but when it comes to bars, lyrical structure, wordplay (meaning how closely your shit rhymes, and how much sense it makes) East coast got it locked, no disrespect to west coast. Korrupt, Crooked I, etc they sick, but not on Nas, Jay, Big, and Banks level.

  • east coast spit da conscience flow, west coast spit da hard core thuggish ruggish flow, no matter what doe we need both 2 balance out da equlity.. i miss da 90's !!!!!

  • Dude Lighter Shade of Brown re-did this Killa Cali style years before AZ, this wasnt nothing major, they went platinum off this remix AZ didnt do shit on this and on top of that they were NEVER mainstream. East Coast wake up man we been remixing these, Diddy try to say we invented the Remix, bitch we invented GANGSTA RAP nigga!

  • @ETJLMET Yet but lyrically... you guys are light years behind us. Sorry, but facts are facts.

  • @CoreyPain Lyrically??? It's all personal preference at that point! Just like when it comes to production, sound, beats, and musical arrangement. The east coast has slowly started to sound like the West Coast when it comes to beats! Rap is all about who can talk the most shit and be the best at it. East Coast rappers such as Jay Z and Big L and even down to Biggie, Dmx havent lived that life but then Nas, Cormega, Mos Def, and rappers like that come and redeem you all! EMINEM put your asses out

  • @CoreyPain 2pac set the standard and mastered it and no one has come close, E-40 and Too Short and Snoop, Cube too many to list done mastered that game from a 'REAL" perspective! I'll give you all Hip Hop because that's where it came from but Gangsta RAP and hard core ass beats and hip hop and R&B comes from this GOLDEN STATE playboy! Don't get it twisted and when it comes to underground..............shit any hood has got that on lock. By the way Immortal Technique is about a pussy punk liar

  • @CoreyPain FAKE ASS THUG! I know some MEXICANS that put that peruvian PUSSY in his place, he does one year in the pen and acts like he's knowin lol dude makes me laugh, if I come up on him ohhhhhh boy its over! You still wanna talk lyrically???? hahahahaha don't forget to remember all those whack ass pussies! Sucker sellout hood rats!

  • @CoreyPain if u wonna talk lyrics.put any eastcoast artist up against crooked i.i bet crooked i is more lyrical then any artist on the eastcoast.eastcoast got good rappers that i fuck with but saying yall better then the westcoast lyrically is bullshit

  • One of the best hip hop songs of all time easily

  • Damn. I love SWV.

  • love AZ miss music like this..

  • 17 people shoulda got hit with that tornado.

  • @irepbmore what about da state property with jay z

  • I find myself coming back to this song over and over to reminisce when hip hop was off the hook.

and when they flow over dough....? they do it fucking thight yo!

  • this joint is still sick, i really love this beat

  • FUCK YOU ALBOY MOTHER FUCKER !!!!!!!!

  • Im tryna make it to the top now, so watch out never guna cop out, I cant stop now I been climbin high n scrambling over obstacles succeedings what im needing so proceedings more than probable stuff from all angles, cuffed at the ankles just doin a tango cos its tough to untangle training meditate in the rain n never sedating yo thrive since my creation im great in this game at making doe just a few bars from my song 'climbing to the top' to this beat show friends if you like it
  • az is ill, awesome stuff

  • agreed. gotta educate the people on what real hip hop is. Play this shit everywhere and people will learn.

  • Keep playing these songs over and over and over! Stop commenting that hip hop is dead! Bring it back by playing it! =D

  • AZ is good, but come on, looking back Pieces of a Man isnt the highlight of his career.

  • @hungryandrew I have to disagree with you. Pieces of man had plenty of bangers and a few mis haps such as betcha don't know but it had good joints like sosa,I'm know, pieces of a black man,the payback and whatever happened. Yes it wasn't like his first because he had did half amill on that and just released the firm album and hip hop was at an akward stage at the time but he always comes correct with the lyrics not always with the beats but give it another listen and it's really dope !

  • AZ has one of the best flows ever! his lines all sound like one word/phrase

  • @irepbmore whice dont make good music at all drake is aight... but wayne...dead...my opinion or maybe cuz im a old head and this music takes me back to my adolesence years when we had oock outs and fun and shoot outs was tha thang like it would be talked about for a summer or two not that im embracing it but shit was real back then..and now cotton candy bubble gum shit...holla at me

  • @irepbmore i would say after g-unit came and poisned tha industry thats when hip hop fuked up cuase all tha real cats just left or took that hiatus and they came and fuked tha game up...to me lloydbanks and game was tha best young buck was good for tha south but all that music they put out and then they had short lived careers along wit 50.. now when u do get music since nigga sis chillin now tha music is gonna sound like drake or lil wayne...

  • AZ just knows how to make ill tracks.

  • i didnt know who az was a year ago. i gotta say hes nice, no doubt

  • My favorites AZ, Jadakiss and the Clipse.

    Best ever Big L. R.I.P.

  • az, nas, talib kweli, mobb deep. fuk bow wow, soulja boy, lil wayne, lady gaga, justin bieber commercialized shit, rip gangstarr. why dey commercialized money over dignity, and deese new artists, have to be in publicitee, cuz dey lack talent.

  • @Seany06 I feel you, 90s hiphop is the best, i hate this nonsense we have today

---There are lyricists in the south.---

The problem is that people are buying these wack rappers' music, so they're the ones who get promoted.
