Hi there. I am television executive producer putting together a piece on illnesses connected to strep throat. I am wondering if you would email me privately to confirm some things about your daughter's experience and if you would be willing to let us broadcast this video. You can reach me at Kelly.Just@kctv5.com Thanks,Kelly
Thanks for the reply. She can still have Subliminal Distraction exposure to cause symptoms. Investigating does not require poking or prodding. Just watch and avoid having detectable movement in her peripheral vision when she performs any activity requiring full mental investment. It would not be possible to separate one symptom from the other. If the frequency of symptoms decreases that would tell you she did have SD exposure.
The child is performing knowledge work in a location with movement in peripheral vision, Subliminal Distraction.Google that name for the site. Begin with the 400 word introduction then the "Letters" page for the short version. If this helps I am searching for cases to verify for publication.
@Researcher2044 Actually, she has a condition called Sydenham's Chorea which is a manifestation of rheumatic fever. With medication, her movements are completed controlled. I don't think she is a good subject for the work you're doing, and frankly, she's been poked and prodded so much in the last 12 months, I don't want to expose her to anything more. But thank you.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. Our daughter was diagnosed over labor day weekend and is JUST NOW improving... i have two questions a) have you noticed the movements get worse when your daughter is watching television? b) is she taking penicillin injections? we are starting those soon. please reach out to me via email-- dwright@kctv.com i would like to share our videos of our daughter with you. best-- dana
I hope she is better now, but if she is not google PANDAS. There is treatment for post strep complications. I'm sorry to see she has to go through this. I do hope she is better.
I hope she is doing better, my daughter went through the same thing this past year and has completely recovered. I remember these movements all too well, and when she couldn't even draw on paper. I commend you for putter her journey on youtube as there is such little info online about SC. Bless you and your family!
Thank you for the video, helps to understand the disorder. I wish your daughter and family the best. She's an adorable girl, will definitely get well completely soon.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers. It has been a very long road to recovery - but thanks to wonderful doctors and medication, my little girl is pretty darned close to back to normal. First the chorea got so out of control that she lost the ability to read and to walk. We had to carry her places, because she fell down after taking two or three steps. A stay at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC led to some answers. Now, she not only walks, but runs!
@reverest66.....i was checking "things" out about this illness, i got the sme illness when i was 9 years old in 1994....i am so glad that your daughter is bette and doing well now.
I had the disease. now im 17. I'm sure that there is a cure. With great faith everything will be fine, and penicillin! I hope the girl is better now! 3/7/2011
My wife and I went through this with our daugther it was horrible time, please know she is 100% perfect now
Back to ballet, tap, jazz and horseback riding.
Please don't ever think you are being to pushy with the doctors. Remember they are just people too and very few understand or have even seen Syndenhams.
Seek second and third opions if you need.
Our daughter could not walk, talk, eat or even hold herself up. We finally decided to go with IVIG which worked incredibly well
