  • man that rocked...

  • @9albertz Thanks

  • Well that looks simple enough.....now, where's me guitar....

  • @bigjay1404 It is quite simple, some practice and you´ll get it. What is incredible is to compose a solo like this, is such a wonderfull melody

  • sounded perfect! Also your guitar sounds just right too! How did you get it to sound like that, wow pedals or something?

  • @galaxything POD 2.0 direct to the soundcard

  • Awesome!!!

  • Melhor cover que eu vi até o momento (Best cover I've seen so far).

Se tivesse as tabs seria perfeito (if it had the tabs would be perfect)

  • You nailed it!

pd: Is it true that slash kept coming back and forth to the hospital for detoxification as well as the other GnR members? greetings from Colombia

  • @buisk I think they had a portable detox device with them on tour :)

  • Can you tell me your setup please =)

  • @EndlessRiff Brain- fingers-Yamaha sd120- cabl-POD 2.0- British amp sim- M audio fasttrack- Cubase.

  • How long did you practice this song before you could play it well?

  • @chicks123 Well, I've played a similar version of the solo (not note by note) for years but this version that I believe is correct was played like 15 times while I was listening to the solo by Slash and then I recorded my version.

  • you are absolutely amazing this is the first video where i actully learned something!!!:)

  • @MrSenkuma I'm very happy to help in any way and glad you find it useful, I'm working in more solos but but internet is so bad that is impossible to upload anything with good quality, we'll see what happens.

  • @dondanzig I mean, my internet connection is useless, not the internet itself which is great. Sorry for the mistake.

  • @dondanzig Thank you very much man! :) I really appreciate your help. These chords were what I've been looking for! Now it seems so simple, but I couldn't figure it out. I've transposed entire song to Db and it still sounds cool. It didn't have any sense to me to play artifical harmonics there so I found different notes and it also sounds good, because these part is only about wah and pulse, not the notes :P You're totally right. Now I have to learn the solo perfectly. Greetings from Poland! :)

  • @xtracom U r welcome, good luck in the contest!.

  • Sorry for language mistakes, I shouldn't have written it that late :)

  • @xtracom Don't worry my languaje is spanish and still try to write in english to share with more people.

  • And also there is a problem with harmonics in "Where do we go" part. I have no idea how to transpose these harmonics :/

  • @xtracom I think the harmonics are not so important but you still can do them with the pick and blocking a little bit with you index finger while holding any note, the index has to be in the exact note one 8ve above, check for Eric Johnson lessons on this.

  • @dondanzig Hey mate! Great cover, I wish I had this level of skill. Anyway, I want to play this song on my shool contest with friends, but I also play in death metal band where I tune to Db/C#. I have a nice half-baritone guitar and it's hard to tune it to Eb. You said that it is possible to play it in Db and I had no probelms with transposing solo part 2 frets up, but I find it quite hard to transpose the chords and arppegrios (I play Slash's part). Could you please help me with this challenge?

  • @xtracom @xtracom Hi there, dont'tune the guitar to Eb cos the neck is probably too strong and larger so it will increase the string tension. You have to do barre chords if the guitar is in Db, for example: the verse(on your guitar) is Db (7th fret, string5) Cb(5th fret, string 5) Gb (5th fret, 6th string) all major chords.

    a barre chord is this:

    --------------------

    ------------

    ----5-------

    ----6-------

    ----7-------- Gb barre chord

    ----7-------

    ----5-------

  • what kind of guitar

that a jim root tele model (diferent wood or paint)

    but you have two knobs

    but it's nice

i have a jim root model without pickguard

  • wish i could play like that.... :(

  • sounds diffrent i like it, bravo!

  • where you study for that degree?

  • @MrYomommaking EAFIT university in Medellin, Colombia.

  • Better than great, It's good :D

  • xavi

  • better than good! excellent!

  • Have you studied music man? XD

  • @8inaki Yeah man, I went to university and have a degree in music composition and orchestration but studied electric guitar by my own.

  • @8inaki you're slash!!! ;)

  • @8inaki He's my fav but it impossible to get his sound, this is as close as I get.

  • Great! this video will serve me as

  • Brilliant tone, good job!

  • can you tell us how do you make the guitar sounds like that?what effect or devices that you use? please :D

  • @Flaw93 It's a Floor POD with the fuzz amp. Just a little bit of tweaking, I'm glad you like it

  • @dondanzig oohh thanks for the feedback and i have one more question the floor pod that you used is it Line 6 Floor pod plus ?

  • @Flaw93 Just Floor POD, the small one, but the simulation engine it's the same as the POD 2.0, (which is my main device for direct recording). The FLoor POD has few features and is quite limited but the sound of the British amp is amazing

  • It's because Slash tunes 1/2 step down, so the song is in Db, but for practical purposes it's played in D cos is more idiomatic for the guitar since you have open strings and was composed thinking of the shape of a D chord with the bass in the 4th string as fits the hand, but the sound is 1/2 step lower. You can play it in Db but for teaching reasons is easier to see it on the fretboard in D.

  • could someone explain why every tutorial ive watched is played in half a note higher than the real song? at least thats what it sounds like ..

  • @AlphaxDelitE or is there something wrong with my guitar/EARS?! cause im getting confused here .. my guitar matches yours .. yours matches slashes .. but mine wont match slashs .. :( im talking about the tuning btw

  • @AlphaxDelitE It's because Slash tunes 1/2 step down, , but for practical purposes it's played in D cos is more idiomatic for the guitar since you have open strings and was composed thinking of the shape of a D chord with the bass in the 4th string as fits the hand, but the sound is 1/2 step lower. • I like it the best!!!!

  • you are fuckin awesome

  • @CryBabyLover1 F@#king thanx

  • DAMN dude

  • Fantastic. It blows me away that 4 idiots hit the dislike button. Why are some people filled with such negativity? This is great work man, loved it.

  • <3 I love guitar :D

  • @OneShotOneGoal Thank you! I'm just trying to share something for free, but still is not enough for some people, anyway....carry on!

  • thanx dude, I could never knew the notes of the fast part. its very difficult to get it. It has kind of an arabian melody that goes up on the fret very fast.

  • @loombaron i'm glad it helps, that is the minor harmonic scale, a minor scale with the Major 7th. E minor harmoni ( E, F#, G, A, B, C, D#) compared to E minor eolian (E, F#, G, A, B, C, D)

  • @loombaron I'm glad it helps, that is the minor harmonic scale, a minor scale with the Major 7th. E minor harmonic ( E, F#, G, A, B, C, D#) compared to E minor eolian (E, F#, G, A, B, C, D)

  • thanx man. Hey Im studying guitar now. Scales in particular. Do you know a good tutorial that explains the major and minor pentatonic? I never undertood that.

  • @loombaron Well I'm doing a tutorial to study scales based on the minor pentatonic and major pentatonic in my webpage in the near future, I'll let you know when is ready.

  • hard to find better cover on youtube

  • some1 is on facebook back over there XD

  • how to get that sounds?? Do I need to have that type of humbuckers or sometning else??

  • @five65seven Well. every pickup sounds different but the gear comes comes second if you have a concept of the sound you want. Just tweak the knobs a little and then record, because sometimes it sounds different when you hear the track recorded, it's the lack of low freq that you have live.

  • @dondanzig I didn't understand a lot because I don't know english very well but I've understood the point. THANKS!!!

  • @five65seven i can help u out what kind of amp do you have . bye the way im a 11 year old i can play this easy

  • @christianjohnson12 I have peavey vypyr 15

  • What brand guitar is that? those POD have all the goodies built in them...Sounds really good through the computer...

  • @JBL8863 Thats a Yamaha SD120 from the eighties, supposed to be cheap but is the best guitar I've played so far. Some modification had been made, like a 5 switch selector, Dimarzio Steve Special on the bridge and Kent Amstrong vintage on the neck, also 500k capacitors.

  • @dondanzig Never think a cheap price guitar isn't as good as an expensive guitar...when it comes to guitars the very best can make em all sound good because it's all in the fingers...Most people don't care what your playing when you sound good.

If some one cuts you down for using a cheap guitar over a high priced guitar it's because they suck at playing and you don't.

You got skill keep em comming...

  • @JBL8863 Thanks man for the kind words! I had a Gibson SG and sold it cos it was impossible to saty in tune the whole concert. I've played some american Strats that sound worse than many Squier too. People pay too much attention to the gear, but it's more to have the concept of the sound. Thank you!

  • great cover man you rock i favorited your vid :)

i just want to ask you how you get that sound do you use a pedal or just a regular amp please answer :)

    peace ^^

  • @guitarista1994 Hi there, It was recorded with a Floor POD straight into the soundcard. The amp simulation was a Fuzz, that's how it's called in the pedal, don't know what kind of amp is simulating.

  • respect :D

if you find good tabs, can you write me a PN??

  • @TheValu2010 Sorry mate, I'm an anti-tab guy.

  • good job man !

  • tabs porfavor!

  • @IScH45I Lo siento lo saque a oido y no tengo tabs, Sorry is by ear, I don't have any tabs!
