It blows my mind the amount of response this video has spurred. Jesus spoke more about hell than prophecies while He was on earth. He is a loving God Who gives us free will to choose His love and eternal peace, or Hell. Simple. To the bible sceptics, I encourage you to do some research on Bible prophecy. The mere odds of a few Bible prophecies being fullfilled should be sufficient proof of the Bible's validity, but there are, literally, hundreds. Psa 22, Isa 53, Zec 11 are a good start.

If God can not lie, then how do you explain the fact that there are dozens of denominations, who all claim to represent "THE TRUE WORD OF GOD LOLZ!", because He has spoken to them? Plus the fact that for instance Reformed Protestants where hunted down and regarded as heretics by the Catholics, even though they worshipped exactly the same Biblical God, but in a slightly different way. How could God have ever condoned this?
God never takes away free will from humans to want Him or reject Him. What Pawson was saying is in God's mercy He keeps His hand of influence on people in this life even when we are making mistakes or choosing hurtful actions because of His great mercy but some people will continue on in darkness and evil and there comes a point when God might lift His hand of restraint off them and give them what they want, life without God, and they descend further into deeper darkness/evil without conscience
I see. But God still created that person. If even God fails to keep that person from making mistakes or choosing to commit hurtful actions, God is clearly not as omnipotent as he is claimed to be.
Furthermore: Why would God create someone with the urge to say, rape women? Don't you think it's quite malevolent to create someone who will basically destroy the lives of other people, and make them burn in hell for eternity for that? In that case it's not like the rapist REALLY has a choice if he was born, oh sorry, I meant to say CREATED, with a mental illness that makes him do things like that, so he gets to burn in hell just because God is apparently malevolent.
Evil is real. God did not create evil. Evil came forth from within the creatures who have separated themselves from God, who is love. The God who created humans gave them the gift of free will, to love Him and others freely, or we would be cosmic puppets/robots....free will is beautiful but costly because humans can choose life or death, for ourselves and for others. Yet even in rebellion and rejection, God still pursues us and offers us the only remedy for our sin-sick souls, Jesus Christ.
The "urge" to harm/destroy comes from within fallen humanity who have disregarded and rejected the God who loves them and are left to themselves to continue on that path unless they turn back to God. He did not "create" urges to sin - we manage to bring that forth out of souls infected with selfishness, pride, fear, godlessness. God made us free to love each other and free to love Him (we are not robots/puppets) and can choose life or death. Hell is eternally where God is not (our own choice)
If God truly loved humanity, he could have easily prevented humanity from falling. God is omniscient, so he could have seen it coming that Eve would eat the forbidden fruit. God is omnipotent, so he could have easily prevented her from eating the forbidden fruit. But he didn't do ANYTHING to prevent this all from happening, although he easily could have.

Worship of the God who is Love is the safest place to be. People choose whether they want to live with God or without Him. Hell is where God is not....it is the eternal choice of those who do not want God....they might not know it, but they choose it. God offers life. While people are still on this earth, God is pursuing them and offering them forgiveness and eternal life, which comes through His Son, Jesus, the only one who can save men's souls. Choose life, not death.
This sounds a lot like Pascal's wager. You're saying "believe in god or something bad might happen to you after you die!" However there is no evidence that there will be something bad, you're trying to fear people into believing and fear is never a good reason to believe anything. A belief should be based on solid evidence in order to support your beliefs, this way you can justify your personal beliefs to other people.
I do base my beliefs upon solid evidence. Scripture is based upon HUNDREDS of available ancient texts and manuscripts not only for the New Testament but also for Jewish Torah available to any serious student of ancient literature. Not to mention over 300 prophecies in these texts ALREADY fulfilled in history by the nation of Israel and by Jesus of Nazareth - more valid archeological evidence of Scriptures than other ancient books. What solid evidence are you basing your belief system on?

Scripture first of all is not based on EVIDENCE it's based on ancient texts, just because they're ancient texts doesn't make them true. The Harry Potter books don't prove Hogwarts exists. I have no clue about the prophesies made in the bible because there are so many but most of them are so vague they could mean anything. I base my beliefs on testable evidence. if i drop a pen 100 times it will fall a 100 times. if i pray to god to stop people killing each other a 100 times it works 0 times.

I love this guy teach. He is thorough and precise, he is scriptural and i think a lot of christians find that very unnerving. I think a lot of preachers tend to avoid this topic, and many neglect it completely and instead preach to the non=believers about a loving God that's come to rescue them! If you look at the scriptures, you don't see even the disciples doing that! They preached repentence to the non believers. Repentance is a touchy topic to a lot of people isn't it.

It blows my mind the amount of response this video has spurred. Jesus spoke more about hell than prophecies while He was on earth. He is a loving God Who gives us free will to choose His love and eternal peace, or Hell. Simple. To the bible sceptics, I encourage you to do some research on Bible prophecy. The mere odds of a few Bible prophecies being fullfilled should be sufficient proof of the Bible's validity, but there are, literally, hundreds. Psa 22, Isa 53, Zec 11 are a good start.

God never takes away free will from humans to want Him or reject Him. What Pawson was saying is in God's mercy He keeps His hand of influence on people in this life even when we are making mistakes or choosing hurtful actions because of His great mercy but some people will continue on in darkness and evil and there comes a point when God might lift His hand of restraint off them and give them what they want, life without God, and they descend further into deeper darkness/evil without conscience

Evil is real. God did not create evil. Evil came forth from within the creatures who have separated themselves from God, who is love. The God who created humans gave them the gift of free will, to love Him and others freely, or we would be cosmic puppets/robots....free will is beautiful but costly because humans can choose life or death, for ourselves and for others. Yet even in rebellion and rejection, God still pursues us and offers us the only remedy for our sin-sick souls, Jesus Christ.

The "urge" to harm/destroy comes from within fallen humanity who have disregarded and rejected the God who loves them and are left to themselves to continue on that path unless they turn back to God. He did not "create" urges to sin - we manage to bring that forth out of souls infected with selfishness, pride, fear, godlessness. God made us free to love each other and free to love Him (we are not robots/puppets) and can choose life or death. Hell is eternally where God is not (our own choice)

If God truly loved humanity, he could have easily prevented humanity from falling. God is omniscient, so he could have seen it coming that Eve would eat the forbidden fruit. God is omnipotent, so he could have easily prevented her from eating the forbidden fruit. But he didn't do ANYTHING to prevent this all from happening, although he easily could have.
Apparently he doesn't love us as much as you claim he does.

The error of your basis/foundational beliefs are rooted in your misunderstanding about free will and a God who only wants people to want Him freely.
As mentioned above, what are you basing your belief system upon? What kind of solid evidence do you have to support your thinking? What if you found out there is a book with hundreds of prophecies already fulfilled that you could trust for your info? There is if you are really interested.
If you can't admit that, then not much else to say.

Worship of the God who is Love is the safest place to be. People choose whether they want to live with God or without Him. Hell is where God is not....it is the eternal choice of those who do not want God....they might not know it, but they choose it. God offers life. While people are still on this earth, God is pursuing them and offering them forgiveness and eternal life, which comes through His Son, Jesus, the only one who can save men's souls. Choose life, not death.

This sounds a lot like Pascal's wager. You're saying "believe in god or something bad might happen to you after you die!" However there is no evidence that there will be something bad, you're trying to fear people into believing and fear is never a good reason to believe anything. A belief should be based on solid evidence in order to support your beliefs, this way you can justify your personal beliefs to other people.

I do base my beliefs upon solid evidence. Scripture is based upon HUNDREDS of available ancient texts and manuscripts not only for the New Testament but also for Jewish Torah available to any serious student of ancient literature. Not to mention over 300 prophecies in these texts ALREADY fulfilled in history by the nation of Israel and by Jesus of Nazareth - more valid archeological evidence of Scriptures than other ancient books. What solid evidence are you basing your belief system on?

Yes, and the Catholic church claimed the earth was the center of the universe, the earth was flat and rested on the back of ginormous turtle, suspended by four less ginormous elephants. These claims were based on the Bible, people were put to death because they contested these claims. God created the universe, so I can imagine he would tell people how shit worked, I mean, why would he claim bullshit about the universe he created himself?

Scripture first of all is not based on EVIDENCE it's based on ancient texts, just because they're ancient texts doesn't make them true. The Harry Potter books don't prove Hogwarts exists. I have no clue about the prophesies made in the bible because there are so many but most of them are so vague they could mean anything. I base my beliefs on testable evidence. if i drop a pen 100 times it will fall a 100 times. if i pray to god to stop people killing each other a 100 times it works 0 times.

I love this guy teach. He is thorough and precise, he is scriptural and i think a lot of christians find that very unnerving. I think a lot of preachers tend to avoid this topic, and many neglect it completely and instead preach to the non=believers about a loving God that's come to rescue them! If you look at the scriptures, you don't see even the disciples doing that! They preached repentence to the non believers. Repentance is a touchy topic to a lot of people isn't it.

I don't want to say David Pawson is a really 'good' man because only God is good, but judging by these vile comments posted about this video I have to say something good about him; at the very least he is a wonderful teacher and his existence is a vital factor in my life and others alike...
My disobedience to God is something that is very difficult to simply push aside, sin has a grip on me... without people like David Pawson teaching about the role model of Christ my hope would fade away...

Amen brother, David is a humble man and a first rate teacher. He often adds to his sermons "...check me out in your Bibles, don't just take my word for it". I once wrote to his publisher with a question for David, three days later I had a beautifully hand written letter from David with the most gracious answer to my question. He's a decent bloke that's for sure.

Matthew 25:46 "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Hebrews 6:2 instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
It's clear the Bible does teach eternal punishment, unsavoury though it may feel to you.
