Just because Fishbone is a cool band doesn't mean this guy does anything more than fill out the sound for a few tour dates, and that's operating under the doubtful assumption that he's not lying. Also, there are many street musicians who are as (or often more) talented than most formally 'educated' or 'successful' musicians. It doesn't matter, none of them could legitimately consider John Frusciante a bad guitarist. The fact is, he's just not.

This is a good song but recorded appallingly (on purpose) and with vocals performed in quite a strange way. The pig squealing is just a bit weird though.
he was way too wrapped up in celebrity and his expectation to paint his arms. he is a great musician and a genious in other ways; but a casualty to fame nonetheless, what happened as a result were some beautifully creative things which verge on the pointless and are definantly insane but some great things came from that. i dont dig his painting though.

Yeah, I heard about this album being the mad ramblings of a junkie on the verge of death...yet so many reviewers look favorably to this? They claim this is revolutionary and the like. This is just a really high guy with a microphone and a guitar. I don't like how everyone's discussing simply the racial slur in the title.
Bare in mind what was going through JF's mind at the time. I highly doubt he was under the influence of anything like Jedi Mind Tricks or Dr Dre. I'm pretty sure he was much more under the influence of heroine. I use albums like "Nianda Lades..." to remind me never to get into drugs, or mix with anyone involved with them. Frusciante's music got so good after "Shadows Collide..." and this is was a different time for JF.

Are you really that dumb? Words can be used to ironically add a sense of endearment. Black people call each other "nigga" all the time. If we are all human, why is it okay for blacks to use "nigga" or "nigger" in an endearing context (this being the key, fucking word children) and white people are automatically racist? It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with a sense of inferiority. All people need to quit being lazy and use their critical thinking skills to determine context.

Regardless of whether some blacks think its acceptable to throw the word around, its history does not change. This, in addition to the double standard you mentioned, is why people(black, white, yellow, tan) need to stop saying it, and all other racial slurs, all together.

he was way too wrapped up in celebrity and his expectation to paint his arms. he is a great musician and a genious in other ways; but a casualty to fame nonetheless, what happened as a result were some beautifully creative things which verge on the pointless and are definantly insane but some great things came from that. i dont dig his painting though.
