@HighCardWins Ford has done wonders with the suspension on the SRA. I test drove a 2010 GT and it handles much better than my friends 04 Cobra with work done to it too.

Trust me, you can't even tell it has a SRA. These cars will out handle the Termi's, as they also put down better skidpad numbers.

Ford's decision to keep the SRA is mostly

a one due to keep cost down.

@HighCardWins Yes he does. It is a cost thing. And the IRS that was in the Cobra is inferior to what they are using in the new GT500. I'm not saying a SRA is better than IRS, but in this case, it is. A present day IRS would easily be better, but the 03/04 Cobra didn't have the greatest set up.

They are on top of it. FRPP! if not 2011 brings the new 5.0 liter direct injection v8 for the GT! the gt500 will go on a diet as well gets an aluminum bloc which will drop 100 pounds from its nose....big plus!

I am glad to hear this. I am on my third Mustang...1969 was the first.....1987 GT with factory "T" tops I still have with 28,000 original miles. I drove it for a year and bagged it in my garage. It is like new. I now have a 08 GT for my daily driver. It's ok for me but I have been owned by late GTOs and G8s and some blender sounding imports. I don't want to modify it because it is my daily driver and I don't want the car to turn into a hobby. I just hope Ford fires back besting the competition.

I am a huge Mustang fan, and I work at a Ford dealership. Where (in addition to regular repairs) I modify customers Mustangs. And with that Mustang expirience in mind, I agree completely with you. The C6 Corvette is a far better handling car, because it's lighter. Everything that the Corvette is, is better because of that root difference. I modded an '07 GT500, to 625 HP. and got beat in a drag race by a stock '08 Z06. It was too aerodynamic and too light. The GT500 is BAD, but it's too heavy.

I know what the technical difference between a sports car and a muscle car is, but in today's world of performance cars, that line is really being blurred. Just because the GT500 doesn't have the suspension to compete with the C6 in the corners, doesn't mean that they're in completely different classes of cars and should never be compared (especially considering that 2 or 3 grand in suspension mods will put the GT500 very close to the C6 from a handling aspect).

I like the looks of the 07-09' from the outside. I just wish the 2010 interior was in the 07-09' That's what I should have said. I do like the 2010 exterior, I'm still getting used to the rear styling but, I like everything else. Just my opinion. The university I graduated from won't even look at you unless you score higher than an 1150 on your SAT's and maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher in highschool. I made the deans list every year except my first year. Not too bad for a retard. :)

I like the 2010 alot more. It's better in every way, no comparison. It's like a night and day difference in my opinion. I would consider buying a 2010 GT500. I had no interest in the 07-09' at all. That's why I bought a C6 Corvette instead. They finally got it right with the 2010 model.

This is the same engine that was in the Ford GT. That same engine has shown the capability to product more than 700 HP. Ford (like all auto manufacturers) intentionally tunes engines conservatively to prolong the life of the components. Sure you can stick an infinite number of turbos on a Honda Civic motor and get 500HP but it will blow up in a week.

actually its not the same engine as the GT

they have different blocks. the gt uses a dry sump oiling system and aluminum block and the gt500 uses a wet sump oiling system and an iron block

The 2010 GT500 will wallow on dealer lots and grow whiskers like the 08s and 09s, because Ford still hasn't learned that they need to wake into the 21st century and offer the Automatic option. Go ask Audi, Ferrari, and BMW. One of many reasons why GM and Ford are tanking not enough hybrids, not enough auto options for sports car enthusiasts. Sad.
