  • I'm sure you enjoy your Roland with sound modules very much! Music is very good for us. The little two octave pipe organ is all mechanical in operation. No electronics have been used. Take care! bobh

  • I ve have to hear other home made organs.... But u must have som electronic keyboard rt? i hve the C 180 Classic Roland organ keyboard..( amongst other keyboards and sound modules).. Its good especially with a good ampli speaker.

  • Praiae God.. but conncet it to a digital keyboard for some bass sound..

  • @resultant64 Great to hear from you---all the way from India. I must praise God at all times. I can do nothing without Him. My organ is not correct in many ways. I've considered making bass pedal operated pipes. This would help. I just heard the beautiful homemade pipe organ from Japan on your page. It has a magnificent tone. I would love to know how his pipes are constructed. bobh

  • wow that pipe organ is just Awsome!

  • @KRandMJ Very happy you enjoyed this! This is one of my favorite hymns.

  • Do you build all pipes with the same widh?

I build a organ too, with 3 stops ( 49 notes per Stop)

and I use for each stop 2 kinds of planks. It works verry well. (:

  • Guten Tag, I'm sure your organ is much more correct than mine. I simply guessed at pipe widths. The high notes are narrow. More width was added in stages for lower notes. The lowest note is Middle "C". There are no stops, no bass pedals, no wind reservoir. I did construct two pipes for each note on high octave just for a slight Celeste sound. Thanks! Bob Hammell

  • Nice work, but why play this on 2 foot and 4 foot only ???

  • It's all I have. But that's OK. Jesus is coming.

  • @bihonning

There isn't enough space for an 8 foot stop.

  • this video is great! you did a great job!

  • @kjsimonUSMC I'm glad you enjoyed this. It is a favorite hymn for all time.

  • Wonderful...I would like to build a little organ too, but I'm afraid it would take too much money and be too hard. Has been difficult for you to build this instrument?

  • @MusicaErgoSum93 Glad you enjoyed this. I learned a little bit about pipe organs from constructing the Castlewood crank organ kit. This helped me go forward with my own project. I had no plan to follow. Most of the material came from hardware store and hobby shop. Not very expensive. The procedures are not difficult but require a good deal of patients. Thanks very much. Perhaps you can build a organ sometime. BobH

  • a calliope and an organ ? wow , are you blessed with mad skills or what ? thats really amazing

  • WOW! fine craftsmanship!

  • Glad you like the little organ. Good to hear from you in Norway! Computers are amazing. BobH

  • Very glad to hear you like sound of organ. Additional octaves could not be added to this one but should I build another one some day I will make it at least three octives. 4 is even better. BobH

  • 4 octaves would be much better. With only two I'm always running out of notes.

  • :) Wonderfull pipes, most the sound

  • Thank you very much. It was a very enjoyable project even though far from perfect. BobH

  • sounds nice, you should carefully file out some of the lower ones to get a more centralized sound

  • Thanks for advice. There are many things wrong with this organ. It was built from scratch with no plan and little organ building knowledge. Will keep working on it.

  • leuk 5*

  • Thanks.

  • very interesting, it sound marvellously

    beatiful music, thanks

  • I'm Thankful for your comment. It makes me feel very good.

  • Great!!!! Very good!!!

  • I love the sound of the organ you play! Glad you enjoyed my little project.

  • Magnifico

  • Wow! Thanks

  • Molto bello

  • Your pipe organ and playing is of the highest order. Thanks for your comment.

  • Fantastico

  • I appreciate that very much.

  • Very cool :)

This is what I call true creativity :P

Would be very cool to see a little "tour" around there to see what it looks like under the hood.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Your comment makes me feel really great! Thanks. Your "tour" idea would be fun but tough to do. Beneath the keyboard is a windchest. When keys are activated a sliding valve is open with a metal rod under each key letting in air for the designated note. Rubber tubing takes air to each pipe. Not text book organ building but is enjoyable to play.

    Bob

  • Awesome :)

I've always been fascinated by rare musical instruments, and even more when they are home brewed, so to say.

    Nice description, as well.

    Cheers,

    Cris

  • Impressive 5***** Maria.

  • Thanks Maria

  • Most interesting and enjoyable - thanks.

  • Glad you enjoyed this.

  • Great job on your pipe organ. It sounds great!

  • Thanks very much! It was an enjoyable project.

  • Thanks very much! Hobbies help improve my feeling of well being. I really love the old hymns of the church.

  • Sweet! I bet that was a lot of fun to put together. Great work!

  • Really really glad you like the two octave pipe organ!! It was fun to build.

  • Haha are you kidding? Totally sweet little pipe organ you got there! Very enchanting. Well done.

  • Very nice! I designed a three octave one myself between 1974-1976.

  • Thanks very much! I enjoyed reading your profile and learning about your work. I'm sure your three octave pipe organ is excellent in every way given your knowledge of the subject. Mine was simply made one day at a time with lots of trial and error. No stops or foot pedals and know reservoir for air. Need to work on that. The Hoover vacuum air supply has a reostat control to reduce RPM's. Lots of fun. BobH

  • What a beautiful sound of your wood pipe organ, hi from mexico i´m making my owmn pipe organ and this kind of videos are very useful and pretty for me :-)

  • I'm very glad you like the little two octave pipe organ. It's wonderful you are building your own pipe organ also. I will look forward to hearing it on Youtube. Robert.

  • Thanks very much for your kind comment! Abide With Me is one of my favorite hymns.

  • Totally amazing. Thank you for sharing what can actually be achieved with the skills that you possess.

  • This is just beautiful...I thought my woodwork skills were good building an organ console (actually just a wooden stand for keyboard to stand on top of 2nd hand refurb pedalboard) but that takes some making. Look after it for future generations!

  • I'm so impressed that you could build such a thing! You must have some sort of woodworking training, surely. How wonderful! I love the music blowing forward when the bass pipes play! (However, I'm afraid you haven't got the rhythm quite right- the last note of each phrase should have four beats, not one or tow as you played. Try singing along and it will be apparent- it always helps hymn playing to sing along!) Keep up the good work!

  • Glad you enjoyed the little organ. You are the 2nd person to mention the sheet music blowing from pipe wind! I've always had trouble with music timing. When I get it right will make another recording. In 2005 I constructed a busker crank organ from a kit. This taught me some about pipes and other things which were used in scratch built keyboard organ. THANKS!!

  • Thank you very very much. These means a lot to me coming from a Christian organist. Your playing is beautiful. I understand your hip hop statement completely. The lyrics are frightening. I'm looking forward to Jesus coming.

  • Brilliant and wonderfully played - thanks for sharing your talent.

  • I didn't think that making REAL organ in home is possible. I love them.

  • Glad you like the organ. They are time consuming to make as each pipe consists of 9 pieces of wood hand cut and carefully fitted together. It is an enjoyable hobby.

  • Thanks very much John. I truly appreciate your prayers. One day we will all be together with Jesus. As God gives me strength I will continue making beutiful instruments in the meantime. Amen. Bob

  • and i will prey to God that gived us so biutefull instruments Amen

  • Thank you. I would truly enjoy playing on a medieval organ. I have enjoyed watching some of your videos. Beautiful.

  • how did you make that organ SO BUTIFUL

  • I asked Jesus to help me. My knowledge in this area is very limited.

  • It remind me of teh very old smalls medieval organs...

  • :) I Enjoyd It

  • Sooooooooooooooooooo beautiful !!

  • WOW! Thanks for your fantastic comment.

  • nice man. Impressive.

  • Thanks DP. Glad you were impressed. I listened to one of your organ songs and was amazed with your style! Jesus is coming.

  • thank you. amen..

  • Bobeileen1, Simply wonderful! You are a true artisan! Thank you. YF, J.

  • Fuzzbear6240, Your comments have made my day!

Your home page is beautiful to behold. And much important and profound material for the whole world to see. Bob

  • Bob, you are too kind, thank you. YF, John

  • My goodness! I have thought of building an organ, but with existing pipes and direct electric action. Is yours mechanical tracker action?

I never got close to building one. Of course I am of a much more advanced age.... Well, one year!

I admire your skill, and your innovation, motivation and dedication! Great job. I also like how certain pipes blow the music up when playing!

I just read your hobbies on your channel page. Wow!

  • Thanks for your nice thoughts! I constructed a busker crank organ from a kit a few years ago and this project taught me how to make wood organ pipes. Yes, all actions are mechanical. No electronics in organ. Under each key is a spring loaded brass rod which lowers down into the wind chest. When a note is played a sliding valve attached to bottom of rod opens. Lots of guess work went into this aspect. Very thankful that it works.

I enjoyed listening to some of your inspiring music!!

  • delightful, and I enjoyed reading the comments too! :)

  • THANKS!! Your artwork on home page is beautiful. Great hearing from you again. I noticed some interesting vidios on your site.

    Will view them soon.

  • very sweet! what kind of wood did u use?

  • Thank you! The 43 pipes are constructed with Bass wood found at local hobby shop. Keyboard pieces were cut from common pine. Cabinet and windchest are also pine. Still need some fine tuning and additional mechanical work.

I listen to some of your music and was inspired beyond words. Your playing is magnificent, majectic and profound. The Euphonium with organ creates a distinct spacious sound. Your classical music and Christian hymns are just what this world needs right now. Thank you

  • This is absolutely awesome. You actually build these instruments! What a beautiful sound! Not only are you a master craftsman, you are quite the musician. THANKS FOR THIS 5STAR POSTING, C.W.

  • Your thoughts are deeply appreciated!! At 68 years old I have my share of trouble but music is a wonderful activity. Spent two years building the organ. It has 43 wood pipes with two octave range. Wind supplied by old Hoover vacuum. Still needs some fine tuning and additional mechanical work. THANKS FOR THE 5STAR POSTING!!!! Let us continue on our journey day by day.
