Kenny Clarke is one of the great drum innovators of the twentieth century. He is credited with developing the be-bop drum style as well as the ubiquitous ride cymbal beat. He probably did not get as much credit as he deserved, largely because he left the states in the mid-fifties.
Because he left the states, I think Kenny is under appreciated by a lot of drummers today. To me he is just so fresh- he makes the band swing so nicely! A Pleasure. Thank you for posting.
and his son Franco on trumpet. George Gruntz is the pianist and possibly Isla Eckinger on bass. All the musicians exc. Kenny are Swiss so it´s probably Swiss tv-show probably early 60s and they playing B flat blues( title unknown). That´s all I can say offhand. Cheers!

This is German bassist Karl-Theodor Geier. He was one of Clarke's favourite bass players during his Paris years.
On the VHS-Cover it says it was a Clarke composition called "Just A Blues Riff". Recorded in Switzerland 1966.
