  • Although this system is a really great idea, I think I'll wait until a Kohjinsha SR8KP06A with a dual-core processor comes out.

  • can you try wow on it?

  • I don't have WOW but if there is a demo I can try then I will test it.

  • The standard battery only lasts about 2 hours, the unit can get very hot during/after gaming and although I like the keyboard, some may not like some of the non standard layout. There will be an extended battery that has 45% extra power though. Another negative is the recall issue.

  • Almost forgot to mention, you will only get good results with this and any other more intensive games by running the Everun on the AC power because on battery the processor will underclock to only 800 Mhz (I found Halo still ran at this clock rate).

  • The processor still underclock to 800 MHz even setting Windows Power Schemes to "Always On"?.

  • Very good point. I just tried the ''Always On'' power setting, and the processor seemed to be clocked to 1Ghz as opposed to 800 Mhz so maybe on battery power it can only use a single core. I tested GTA SA on this and I was getting a maximum of 17 fps and a constant 15 fps was most common. Going back to the AC gave me from 22 fps, occasionally 25fps so of course that must be the difference of the second core being used.

  • Remember, this UMPC is a Dual Core AMD 1.2 Ghz, 1GB RAM and has its own graphics sideport memory that is seperate from the main system RAM so is pretty powerful.

  • There are also settings that can increase performance in the Catalyst Control centre but those are many. I also experimented with increasing the UMA graphics allocation (Bios)from the default 64MB to 128MB, the maximum is 256MB. Side port graphics RAM seems to be locked to 64MB.

I do not have a video camera but I could always record the Everun System info before the GTA SA clip.

  • So, how can we be sure this isn't a fake?

  • Fake videos are a waste of my time and your time and I use fraps because I have no video camera.

For anyone else who has the Everun Note who wants to install and test GTA SA, change settings to Draw distance zero, frame limiter OFF (default is hard coded to 25 fps max unless you patch or change it in hex so stupid), Visual FX Quality low, anti aliasing OFF and resolution 800 X 480 X 32, 16 instead of 32 might give a bit better performance.

  • Ok, I don't doubt about that, but it is a "must made" question.

However, the 690G of this computer should be able to run the game pretty smooth at 1024x600.
